Helix Sleep markets hybrid mattresses made with dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores fortified with polyfoam base layers. Who Manufactures Helix Mattress
Helix Sleep allows full mattress customization. Buyers are urged to fill out a questionnaire that discusses their height, weight, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other options. Based on these answers, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following 6 mattress options; each respective option provides a unique combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep hybrids with targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them perfect for side sleepers. While mattresses that have moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are suitable for all sleep positions. Lighter men and women may feel most comfy on models with balanced support, while those who weigh 130 lbs or more tend to prefer the variants with extra support.
Helix Sleep also markets two mattresses with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and additional support). Both these variants have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, making them great for couples with differing tastes. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for larger, heavier people. This variant has an extra layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses found that the customizable selection accommodates sleepers with a wide range of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also offer strong edge support, isolate movement well, and produce less noise than the average hybrid. Who Manufactures Helix Mattress

Construction Who Manufactures Helix Mattress
All 9 of the different iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction should be rather similar. The six core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in firmness and density depending upon the foams utilized in order to attain more/less support and more/less firmness. The four different foams utilized within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the variants have all the foams – some only have three of the four – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the purchaser. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer 9 different versions (and supposedly have a model for everybody). Who Manufactures Helix Mattress
Below, I concisely discuss the construction (materials and quality) of your average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses have exactly the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I found it to be thin and stretchy, allowing for some nice breathability. But, if you prefer something more amped up, you can opt to swap out the standard cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase change material to regulate temperature.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you will encounter a heavy layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow response to pressure, meaning you’re likely to experience some great body shaping. While it might seem odd for a supposedly medium firmness mattress to feature a memory foam layer, it is important to remember that the existence of deep sinkage doesn’t always translate to softness; in fact, oftentimes it gives quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After getting past the comfort layer, you will uncover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to suppress the sinkage of the memory foam and create a supportive, medium firm feeling as you reach the pocketed coils below.
Support Layer – The majority of the mattress consists of this segment of individually wrapped coils. This system brings a supportive lift into the structure, working to put the sleeper “on top” of the bed, instead of “in it”. Since the coils are individually wrapped, they’re also going to encourage additional breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last but not least, you will uncover a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This segment does not affect the feel of the mattress too much, working mostly to provide the pocketed coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After having a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us chat about their different firmness levels and feels.
The firmness of the Helix is going to vary widely depending on the variant you choose. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which will be very versatile and thus very popular. If you have more specific requirements, however, Helix Sleep is happy to oblige you with more choices.
Laying down on the Helix Midnight, the memory foam comfort layer is soft and generates some top quality body contouring, while the other materials within the Midnight work to counteract this and make an overall firmer composition. The individually-wrapped coils and the firmer support foams also assist with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there’s enough good comfort material in the Helix Midnight to conform to your lower spine while supporting your whole back in a neutral position. For heavier buyers or those who want a firmer bed, there are two more models for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn variants.
Most side sleepers will feel perfectly comfy on the Midnight, however, if you are wanting a bit less pressure while still going with a versatile medium firmness, you might want to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and gives the surface a small bit of bounce.
Side sleepers typically need to be mindful of pressure because they sleep with most their weight on a tinier area. Those who are smaller than average or people looking for lots of pressure relief might want to stick to the plusher variants.
Stomach sleepers will feel comfortable in the Midnight, particularly if this is not their main position or they have a tendency to switch things up a lot. Firmer mattresses might be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so they can make sure their hips do not dip and over-arch their backbone.
Last, Helix Sleep suggests Helix for sleepers around 350 pounds or couples that weigh up to 250 pounds each. In the event you or your partner are significantly bigger than average, the company has also produced a bed called the Nightfall that’s constructed to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 lbs.
Couples with differing types of bodies or preferences may also pick a dual comfort option that pairs Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if neither of these models seem quite right, you may always have a look at the four other variants in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, a little firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest variant of the bunch).
Now, let us chat about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that is noticeable from one side of the mattress to the other. While this is going to be important for all buyers, those who sleep with a spouse may find it especially intriguing as it will illuminate just how bothered you may be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Who Manufactures Helix Mattress
According to my research, Helix surpasses expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space because of the quantity and quality of foam it contains, in addition to the pocketed coils which help keep motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper afraid that movement from the opposite side of the bed will wake you, you should not have a lot of concern with this hybrid. I would say that all of the Helix mattresses would be a good choice for couples.
When getting a new mattress, most people wish to know whether they will feel like they are sinking “into” the it or laying “on top” of it.
While you’re likely to encounter some immediate sinkage in the uppermost foam layers, by the time you sink through those layers, you are going to reach the pocketed coils and find great support. This combo will appeal to a vast range of individuals, but will suit stomach and back sleepers the most.
Though I do feel the memory foam compress as I sit close to the edge of the mattress, the coils prevent the mattress from collapsing too much beyond that. I feel very secured sitting on the mattress.
In my view, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is due to their recently updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil system. There may be a little compression at the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but lying on the side will feel comfy and secure. Couples who need more space to stretch out normally love strong edges.
Lying down, I feel like I could get close to the edge of the mattress without feeling like I’ll fall off or be pushed off the mattress. Overall, I believe the Helix mattress has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of purchasing a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they usually come with. Helix Sleep is not any different. You create the mattress that’s meant for you, place your order, and in a couple of weeks, it’s sent to your door. From the moment you click to buy the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to check it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it isn’t ideal, you can return it free of charge, and receive a complete refund.
Should you return the mattress, it is not restocked or resold. Actually, Helix Sleep finds a local place to donate it. If there is no way the company can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, it’s recycled instead. Who Manufactures Helix Mattress
The Helix Mattress includes an amazing 10-year warranty that covers defects, but it has some limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the consumer (like most warranties). Of course, you must be the original owner of the Helix to make use of the guarantee, and you will need to be sure that you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all of the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you will need to have a proper foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4” apart) and you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on it!
If your Helix starts to have an indentation of 1 inch or more, something that typically happens when low-density foams break down, then you could qualify for a repair or replacement of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no flipping, but it’s recommended that you rotate the mattress perhaps a couple of times a year to keep it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For routine cleanup, it’s advised to use cool water with gentle dish soap to clean any dirt or stains. Be certain to wash using soft circular movements, instead of rubbing.
