Helix Sleep markets hybrid mattresses made with polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores enhanced using polyfoam base layers. Where Is Helix Mattress Manufactured

Helix Sleep gives you complete mattress customization. Buyers are requested to complete a questionnaire that asks for their height, weight, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other options. Based on these results, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following six mattress variants; each respective option gives a unique combination of support and firmness:

  • Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
  • Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
  • Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
  • Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
  • Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
  • Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support

Helix Sleep hybrids with targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them perfect for those who sleep on their side. While hybrids with moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are suitable for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter individuals may feel most comfy on models with balanced support, while people that weigh 130 lbs or more tend to prefer the variants with extra support.

Helix Sleep also markets two variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with additional support and moderate cushioning). Both of these models have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, making them ideal for couples with differing tastes. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for bigger, heavier individuals. This model has an extra layer of memory foam for optimum support.

My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable selection conforms to sleepers with a wide range of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also offer strong edge support, isolate movement well, and create less noise than the normal hybrid. Where Is Helix Mattress Manufactured

Construction Where Is Helix Mattress Manufactured

All 9 of the various iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction should be rather similar. The six core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.

Helix mattresses vary in density and firmness depending upon the foams utilized in order to achieve more/less support and more/less firmness. The four unique foams utilized within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the mattresses have all of the foams – some only have 3 of the 4 – but it really won’t matter much for the buyer. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull to be able to offer 9 distinct models (and supposedly have a mattress for everybody). Where Is Helix Mattress Manufactured

Below, I briefly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of the average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.

Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses have the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I found it to be pliable and thin, allowing for some great breathability. However, if you would like something more amped up, you can opt to swap out the normal cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase-change material for heat regulation.

Comfort Layer – On top, you will discover a heavy layer of memory foam. This material has a slow reaction to pressure, meaning you’re probably going to encounter some gratifying body contouring. While it might seem odd for a purportedly medium firm bed to make use of a memory foam layer, it is important to remember that the existence of deep sinkage doesn’t necessarily translate to softness; in fact, most of the time it generates quite a firm feel.

Transition Layer – After getting past the memory foam comfort layer, you will uncover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to curb the sinkage of the memory foam and create a supportive, medium firm feeling as you reach the individually wrapped coils below.

Support Layer – The majority of the mattress is made up of this segment of pocketed coils. This system brings a supportive lift to the structure, working to put the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, instead of “in it”. Since these coils are individually wrapped, they are also likely to allow additional breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.

Base Layer – Last but not least, you’ll uncover a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This section does not affect the feel of the mattress too much, functioning mostly to give the pocketed coils something off of which to respond.

Firmness and Support

After having a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us chat about their varying firmness levels and feels.

helix-mattress-firmness-and-support-scale

The firmness level of the Helix is going to vary widely depending on the variant you pick out. The Helix Dusk and Midnight, have moderate firmness levels, which is going to be very versatile and thus best-selling. If you have more specific preferences, however, Helix Sleep will be happy to provide you with more choices.

Laying down on the Midnight, the memory foam comfort layer is soft and generates some quality body contouring, while the rest of the materials in the mattress work to counteract this and make an overall firmer structure. The individually-wrapped coils and the firmer support foams also assist with re-positioning.

For those who sleep on their back, there is enough good comfort material here to conform to your lumbar while supporting your whole back in a neutral position. For heavier sleepers or those who prefer a firmer mattress, there are two more choices for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight models.

Majority of side sleepers should feel totally comfortable on the Midnight, however, if you are wanting less pressure while still sticking with a versatile medium firmness, you might decide to check out the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and provides the surface a little bit of bounce.

Those who sleep on their side typically need to be more mindful of pressure since they sleep with most of their weight on a smaller area. Those who are smaller than average or those looking for a lot of pressure relief might want to stay with the plusher variants.

Those who sleep on their stomach will feel supported in the Midnight, especially if this is not their primary position or they tend to switch things up a lot. Firmer choices might be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so that they can ensure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their back.

Lastly, the manufacturer recommends Helix for sleepers around 350 lbs or couples who weigh up to 250 pounds each. If you or your partner are significantly bigger than average, the company has also produced a mattress called the Nightfall that is created to accommodate a total weight of 1000 pounds.

Partners with differing body types or tastes may also pick a dual comfort variant that pairs Firm with Plush.

Bear in mind that if none of these models sound right, you can always check out the four other variants in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, slightly firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest option in the line).

Motion Transfer

Next up, let us talk about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that is noticeable from one side of the bed to the other. While this is going to be crucial for all sleepers, those who doze with a spouse may find it particularly interesting as it’ll illuminate just how bothered you will be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Where Is Helix Mattress Manufactured

Based on my observation, Helix surpasses expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space due to the quantity and quality of foam it incorporates, in addition to the individually wrapped coils that help trap motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper afraid that movement from the other side of the mattress will wake you, you should not have a lot of concern with this hybrid. I’d say that any of the Helix mattresses would be a good option for couples.

Sinkage

When getting a new mattress, the majority of men and women want to know whether they’ll feel like they are sinking “into” the it or lying “on top” of it.

While you may experience some immediate sinkage in the uppermost foam layers, by the time you sink through these layers, you’ll reach the pocketed coils and feel great support. This combination will appeal to a wide assortment of sleepers, but will suit back and stomach sleepers in particular.

Edge Support

While I do feel the memory foam compress as I sit near the edge of the mattress, the pocketed coils prevent the mattress from compressing too much beyond that. I feel quite secure sitting on the bed.

In my opinion, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is due to their freshly updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil system. There can be some compression in the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but laying on the side will feel comfy and safe. Couples who need more space to stretch out typically appreciate strong edges.

Lying down, I feel like I could get close to the edge of the mattress without feeling like I will roll off or be pushed off the mattress. Overall, I believe the Helix mattress has great edge support.

100 Night Sleep Trial

One of the best features of buying a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they usually include. Helix Sleep is not any different. You create the mattress that’s meant for you, place your order, and in two weeks, it’s delivered to your home. From the minute you click to order the mattress, you have 100 nights to try it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it is not what you wanted, you can return it for free, and receive a complete refund.

Should you return the mattress, it is not restocked or resold. In fact, Helix does its best to locate a local place to donate it. If there is no way Helix Sleep can find a way to donate your returned mattress, it is recycled instead. Where Is Helix Mattress Manufactured

Helix Warranty

The Helix Mattress includes a generous 10-year warranty that covers defects, but it has a few limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the consumer (like most guarantees ). Of course, you must be the original owner of the mattress to make use of the warranty, and you will need to be sure you save your receipt as proof of purchase.

Provided that you follow all Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty will be valid. That means you need to have a suitable base (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4 inches apart) and you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on the bed!

If your Helix begins to show an indentation of 1” or more, something that typically happens when low-density foams break down, you could be eligible for a repair or replacement of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?

Helix mattresses require no flipping, but it is suggested that you rotate the mattress perhaps once or twice a year to prevent it from wearing down from excess sagging.

For routine cleanup, it is suggested to use cold water with gentle dish detergent to clean any dirt or stains. Be sure that you clean using soft circular motions, rather than rubbing.
