Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses made with dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores fortified using polyfoam base layers. Where Is Helix Mattress Made
Helix Sleep gives you full mattress customization. Buyers are requested to fill out a survey that asks for their weight, height, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other options. Based on these results, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following six mattress options; each respective model provides a one-of-a-kind combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep mattresses that have targeted cushioning conform closely, making them perfect for those who sleep on their side. While those with moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are ideal for all sleep positions. Lighter people may feel more comfortable on models with balanced support, while people who weigh 130 lbs or more often prefer the variants with additional support.
Helix Sleep also offers 2 models with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with additional support and moderate cushioning). Both of these models have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, which makes them ideal for couples with different tastes. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for bigger, heavier people. This variant has an additional layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses found that the customizable aspect conforms to sleepers with a large range of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate movement nicely, and produce less noise than the average hybrid. Where Is Helix Mattress Made

Construction Where Is Helix Mattress Made
All nine of the different iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction should be quite similar. The six core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in firmness and density based upon the foams used in order to achieve more/less firmness and more/less support. The four different foams used within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the beds have all the foams – some just have three of the four – but it really won’t matter much for the consumer. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull to be able to offer nine distinct mattresses (and hopefully have a model for everybody). Where Is Helix Mattress Made
Below, I quickly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of the average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses have exactly the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I found it to be pliable and thin, allowing for some great breathability. But, if you would like something more amped up, you can choose to swap out the regular cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase-change fabric to regulate temperature.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you’ll encounter a heavy layer of memory foam. This material has a slow reaction to pressure, meaning you’re probably going to encounter some great body shaping. While it might seem strange for a supposedly medium firmness mattress to make use of a memory foam layer, it is crucial to remember that the existence of deep sinkage doesn’t necessarily translate to softness; in fact, oftentimes it gives quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After getting past the memory foam comfort layer, you’ll discover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to suppress the sinkage of the comfort layer and establish a supportive, medium firm feel as you reach the individually wrapped coils underneath.
Support Layer – The bulk of the mattress is made up of this segment of pocketed coils. This system gives a supportive lift to the construction, working to place the sleeper “on top” of the bed, instead of “in it”. Because these coils are individually wrapped, they are also going to encourage additional breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last but not least, you will find a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This layer does not really affect the feel of the mattress too much, functioning mostly to give the pocketed coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After having a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us discuss their varying firmness levels and feels.
The firmness of the Helix is going to differ widely depending on which version you pick out. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which will be very versatile and thus very popular. If you have more specific requirements, however, Helix Sleep is happy to oblige you with additional choices.
Lying down on the Midnight, the memory foam layer is soft and generates some quality body shaping, while the rest of the materials within the Midnight work to control this and create an overall firmer composition. The pocketed coils and the firmer support foams also assist with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there is just enough good comfort material in the Helix Midnight to conform to your lumbar while supporting your upper spine in a neutral position. For larger sleepers or people who want a firmer bed, there are two more models for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn variants.
Many side sleepers will feel perfectly comfortable on the Midnight, but, if you’re wanting less pressure while still sticking with a versatile medium firmness, you might want to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and gives the surface a little bit of bounce.
Side sleepers typically have to be mindful of pressure because they sleep with all of their weight on a tinier area. People who are lighter than average or people looking for a lot of pressure relief might want to stick to the plusher variants.
Stomach sleepers will feel supported in the Midnight, especially if this isn’t their main position or they tend to switch things up a lot. Firmer choices may be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so that they can make sure their hips do not dip and over-arch their backbone.
Finally, Helix Sleep suggests Helix for sleepers around 350 lbs or couples that weigh a maximum of 250 pounds each. In the event you or your partner are significantly bigger than average, Helix has also created a mattress called the Nightfall that is made to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 pounds.
Couples with differing body types or tastes may also pick a dual comfort variant that pairs Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if none of these options seem right, you can always check out the four other models in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, slightly firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest option of the bunch).
Next up, let us chat about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that is noticeable from one side of the mattress to the other. While this will be important for all people, those who doze with a spouse may find it particularly intriguing as it will show just how bothered you’ll be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Where Is Helix Mattress Made
Based on my observation, Helix Sleep surpasses expectations for hybrids in this space because of the amount and quality of foam it contains, as well as the individually wrapped coils that help trap motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper worried that motion from the other side of the bed will wake you, you should not have a lot of concern with this mattress. I’d say that any of the Helix mattresses are a good option for couples.
When purchasing a new mattress, most men and women want to know whether they will feel as though they are sinking “into” the it or laying “on top” of it.
While you may experience some immediate sinkage in the soft foam at the top, by the time you sink through these layers, you will find the pocketed coils and experience amazing support. This combo will appeal to a wide range of sleepers, but will suit back and stomach sleepers the most.
Though I do feel the foam collapse as I sit close to the edge of the mattress, the coils stop the mattress from collapsing too much beyond that. I feel very secured sitting on the mattress.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is because of their freshly updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil unit. There may be some compression at the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but laying on the side will feel comfy and safe. Couples who want more space to stretch out normally love stronger edges.
Laying down, I also feel like I could get close to the edge of the mattress without feeling like I’ll roll off or be ejected from the mattress. Overall, I believe that the Helix has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of buying a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they usually include. Helix is no different. You customize the mattress that’s made for you, place your order, and within a couple of weeks, it’s delivered to your door. From the minute you click to buy the mattress, you have 100 nights to test it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it is not ideal, you can return it for free of charge, and receive a full refund.
Should you return the mattress, it isn’t resold or restocked. In fact, Helix Sleep locates a local place to donate it. When there’s no way Helix Sleep can find a way to donate your returned mattress, it is recycled instead. Where Is Helix Mattress Made
The Helix Mattress includes a generous 10-year guarantee that covers flaws, but it comes with a few limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the customer (like most warranties). Needless to say, you must be the original owner of the Helix to use the guarantee, and you need to be sure you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all of the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty should be valid. That means you will need to have a suitable foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4” apart) and you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on it!
If your mattress starts to have an indentation of 1” or more, which is what typically happens when low-density foams break down, then you could qualify for a repair or replacement of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no flipping, but it is recommended that you rotate the mattress possibly a couple of times a year to prevent it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For routine cleanup, it’s suggested to use cold water along gentle dish soap to clean any dirt or stains. Be certain to clean using soft circular motions, instead of rubbing.
