Helix Sleep markets hybrid mattresses made using polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores fortified using polyfoam base layers. How Much Are Helix Beds
Helix Sleep allows full mattress customization. Purchasers are asked to fill out a questionnaire that asks for their weight, height, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other elements. Then based on these results, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following six mattress variants; each individual option offers a one-of-a-kind combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep hybrids that have targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them ideal for those who sleep on their side. While those that have moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are ideal for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter men and women may feel most comfy on models with balanced support, while people who weigh 130 lbs or more tend to favor the variants with additional support.
Helix Sleep also offers two models with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and extra support). Both of these variants have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, which makes them ideal for couples with differing tastes. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for larger, heavier individuals. This mattress has an extra layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable selection accommodates sleepers with a large range of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate motion transfer well, and produce less noise than the average hybrid. How Much Are Helix Beds

Construction How Much Are Helix Beds
All nine of the various iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction should be rather similar. The six core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in density and firmness depending upon the foams used in order to get more/less firmness and more/less support. The four unique foams utilized within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the beds have all the foams – some just have 3 of the 4 – but it really won’t matter much for the buyer. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull to be able to offer nine different mattresses (and hopefully have a mattress for everybody). How Much Are Helix Beds
Below, I quickly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of the average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses have the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I found it to be thin and pliable, allowing for some wonderful breathability. But, if you want something more lavish, you can choose to swap out the regular cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is made up of a phase-change fabric for heat regulation.
Comfort Layer – On top, you’ll discover a thick layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow response to pressure, meaning you’re probably going to experience some gratifying body shaping. While it might seem odd for a supposedly medium firmness mattress to incorporate a memory foam layer, it’s crucial to remember that the existence of deep sinkage does not necessarily translate to softness; in fact, oftentimes it produces quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the comfort layer, you’ll discover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to curb the sinkage of the comfort layer and create a supportive, medium firm feel as you reach the pocketed coils underneath.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress is made up of this section of individually wrapped coils. This system brings a supportive lift to the construction, working to put the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, as opposed to “in it”. Since these coils are wrapped individually, they’re also going to give extra breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last but not least, you will find a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This section does not affect the feel of the mattress too much, functioning mostly to give the individually wrapped coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After having a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s discuss their different feels and firmness levels.
The firmness level of the Helix will vary widely depending on which variant you choose. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which will be very versatile and thus exceptionally popular. If you have more specific requirements, however, Helix Sleep would be happy to oblige you with additional options.
Laying down on the Midnight, the uppermost foam comfort layer is soft and produces some quality body contouring, while the rest of the materials in the Midnight work to control this and make an overall firmer structure. The individually-wrapped coils and the firmer support foams also help with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there’s just enough good comfort material here to conform to your lumbar while supporting your whole back in a neutral position. For heavier buyers or people who want a firmer bed, there are 2 more models for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn models.
Most side sleepers should feel perfectly comfy on the Midnight, however, if you are wanting a bit less pressure while still going with a versatile medium firmness, you might decide to check out the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and gives the surface a small bit of bounce.
Side sleepers typically need to be more mindful of pressure because they sleep with most of their weight on a tinier region. Those who are lighter than average or people looking for a lot of pressure relief may want to stay with the plusher models.
Those who sleep on their stomach should feel supported in the Midnight, especially if this isn’t their main position or they have a tendency to switch things up a lot. Firmer mattresses may be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so that they can make sure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their back.
Lastly, the manufacturer recommends Helix for sleepers up to 350 pounds or partners who weigh a maximum of 250 lbs each. If you or your spouse are significantly larger than average, Helix has also produced a mattress called the Nightfall that’s constructed to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 lbs.
Couples with different types of bodies or preferences may also pick a dual comfort model that combines Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if none of these options sound quite right, you can always have a look at the four other mattresses in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, slightly firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest mattress of the bunch).
Next up, let us chat about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that’s detectable from 1 side of the mattress to the other. While this will be crucial for many sleepers, those who doze with a partner may find it especially interesting as it’ll show just how bothered you will be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. According to my research, Helix Sleep exceeds expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space due to the amount and quality of foam it incorporates, in addition to the pocketed coils that help keep motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper concerned that movement from the other side of the bed will bother you, then you shouldn’t have a lot of concern with this hybrid. I would say that all of the Helix mattresses would be a good option for couples.
When purchasing a brand-new mattress, most individuals want to know whether they’ll feel as though they’re sinking “into” the it or laying “on top” of it.
Even though you’re going to encounter a little immediate sinkage in the soft foam at the top, when you sink through these layers, you will reach the pocketed coils and feel amazing support. This combo will appeal to a wide range of individuals, but will satisfy stomach and back sleepers the most.
While I do feel the memory foam compress as I sit close to the edge of the mattress, the pocketed coils stop the mattress from compressing too much beyond that. I feel very secured seated on the mattress.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is due to their freshly updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil system. There can be some compression at the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but laying on the side should feel comfortable and safe. Couples who need more space to stretch out normally love stronger edges.
Lying down, I also feel like I can get near the edge of the mattress without feeling like I will fall over or be pushed off the bed. Overall, I think the Helix has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of purchasing a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they typically come with. Helix Sleep is not any different. You customize the mattress that’s intended for you, place your order, and within a couple of weeks, it’s sent to your home. From the minute you click to purchase the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to test it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it isn’t perfect, you can return it free of charge, and get a complete refund.
If you do return the mattress, it is not resold or restocked. In fact, the company does its best to locate a local place to donate it. When there’s no way the company can find a way to donate your returned mattress, it is recycled instead. How Much Are Helix Beds
The Helix Mattress includes a generous 10-year warranty that covers flaws, but it has some limitations, exceptions, plus the burden of proof is on the customer (like most guarantees ). Needless to say, you should be the original owner of the Helix to use the guarantee, and you need to be sure that you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty should be valid. That means you will need to use a proper foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4” apart) and you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on it!
If your Helix starts to show an indentation of 1” or longer, which is what usually happens when low-density foams break down, then you could be eligible for a replacement or repair of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no turning, but it is suggested that you rotate the mattress perhaps a couple of times a year to keep it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For regular cleanup, it is suggested to use cool water with gentle dish soap to clean any dirt or stains. Be certain to clean using soft circular movements, instead of rubbing.
