Helix Sleep markets hybrid mattresses manufactured using dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores enhanced using polyfoam base layers. Helix Warranty
Helix Sleep offers complete mattress customization. Customers are asked to fill out a survey that asks for their weight, height, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other options. Then based on these answers, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following six mattress variants; each respective option offers a unique combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep mattresses with targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them ideal for side sleepers. While hybrids with moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are great for all sleep positions. Lighter men and women may feel more comfortable on variants with balanced support, while people that weigh 130 pounds or more often prefer the variants with extra support.
Helix Sleep also markets two models with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with extra support and moderate cushioning). Both these variants have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, which makes them great for couples with different preferences. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for larger, heavier people. This variant has an extra layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable aspect conforms to sleepers with a wide variety of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also offer strong edge support, isolate movement well, and create less noise than the average hybrid. Helix Warranty

Construction Helix Warranty
All nine of the various iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction will be quite similar. The six core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in firmness and density based on the foams utilized in order to attain more/less firmness and more/less support. The four unique foams utilized within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the models have all of the foams – some just have three of the four – but it really won’t matter much for the consumer. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer nine distinct mattresses (and supposedly have a model for everybody). Helix Warranty
Underneath, I briefly talk about the construction (materials and quality) of the average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses have exactly the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I thought it to be pliable and thin, allowing for some great breathability. However, if you prefer something more amped up, you can choose to swap out the normal cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase-change material for heat regulation.
Comfort Layer – On top, you’ll find a thick layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow reaction to pressure, which means you are probably going to experience some satisfying body contouring. While it might seem strange for a supposedly medium firmness mattress to feature a memory foam comfort layer, it is crucial to remember that the presence of deep sinkage does not always translate to softness; in actuality, most of the time it generates quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After getting past the memory foam comfort layer, you’ll discover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to curb the sinkage of the comfort layer and create a supportive, medium firm feeling as you reach the pocketed coils underneath.
Support Layer – The bulk of the mattress is made up of this segment of individually wrapped coils. This system gives a supportive lift into the construction, working to place the sleeper “on top” of the bed, instead of “in it”. Because these coils are wrapped individually, they are also likely to encourage extra breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last but not least, you will uncover a thin section of high-density poly foam. This segment doesn’t really affect the feel of the bed too much, working mostly to provide the pocketed coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After having a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s talk about their different feels and firmness levels.
The firmness level of the Helix is going to vary widely depending on the variant you select. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which is going to be very versatile and thus very popular. If you have more specific preferences, however, Helix Sleep would be happy to provide you with additional options.
Laying down on the Helix Midnight, the uppermost foam layer is soft and produces some high quality body contouring, while the rest of the materials in the Midnight work to counteract this and create an overall firmer composition. The pocketed coils and the firmer support foams also assist with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there is enough good comfort material here to conform to your lower spine while supporting your whole upper spine in a neutral position. For larger buyers or people who want a firmer bed, there are two more choices for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight variants.
Majority of side sleepers should feel perfectly comfy on the Midnight, but, if you’re wanting a bit less pressure while still going with a versatile medium firmness, you might want to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and gives the surface a small bit of bounce.
Side sleepers typically need to be mindful of pressure since they sleep with all of their weight on a smaller area. People who are smaller than average or those looking for lots of pressure relief may want to stick to the plusher models.
Those who sleep on their stomach should feel comfortable in the Midnight, especially if this is not their main position or they tend to switch things up a lot. Firmer choices may be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so that they can make sure their hips do not dip and over-arch their back.
Lastly, the manufacturer recommends Helix for sleepers up to 350 pounds or couples who weigh a maximum of 250 lbs each. If you or your spouse are significantly bigger than average, Helix has also produced a bed called the Nightfall that is built to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 lbs.
Couples with different types of bodies or preferences may also pick a dual comfort variant that pairs Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if neither of those options sound quite right, you could always check out the four other beds in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, a little firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest mattress of the bunch).
Now, let us talk about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that’s noticeable from one side of the bed to the other. While this will be crucial for all buyers, those who sleep with a partner may find it particularly intriguing as it will show just how bothered you may be by your partner’s nighttime movements. Helix Warranty
According to my research, Helix Sleep surpasses expectations for hybrids in this space due to the quantity and quality of foam it contains, in addition to the individually wrapped coils that help keep motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper worried that motion from the other side of the bed will bother you, you shouldn’t have a lot of concern with this hybrid. I would say that all of the Helix mattresses are a good choice for couples.
When buying a brand-new mattress, the majority of men and women would like to know whether they will feel as though they’re sinking “into” the mattress or laying “on top” of it.
Even though you may encounter a little immediate sinkage from the uppermost foam layers, by the time you sink through these layers, you’ll find the pocketed coils and find fantastic support. This combination will appeal to a wide range of sleepers, but will satisfy stomach and back sleepers the most.
While I do feel the memory foam compress as I sit near the edge of the Helix Midnight, the individually-wrapped coils stop the mattress from compressing too much . I feel quite secured sitting on the mattress.
In my view, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is because of their recently updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil unit. There can be some compression at the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but lying on the side should feel comfortable and safe. Couples who want more space to stretch out normally love strong edges.
Lying down, I also feel like I can get near the edge of the bed without feeling like I’ll fall off or be pushed off the bed. Overall, I believe that the Helix has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of buying a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they typically include. Helix is no different. You customize the mattress that’s meant for you, place your order, and within two weeks, it is sent to your door. From the moment you click to buy the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to test it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it isn’t ideal, you can return it for free, and get a complete refund.
Should you return the mattress, it isn’t resold or restocked. In fact, Helix Sleep locates a local place to donate it. When there’s no way Helix can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, it is recycled instead. Helix Warranty
Helix Sleep offers an awesome 10-year warranty that covers defects, but it has some limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the purchaser (like most warranties). Of course, you must be the first owner of the mattress to use the warranty, and you will need to be sure that you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty should be valid. That means you need to have a suitable foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4” apart) and that you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on it!
If your mattress starts to have an indentation of 1 inch or more, which is what typically happens when low-density foams break down, you could be eligible for a repair or replacement of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no flipping, but it’s recommended that you rotate the mattress perhaps a couple of times a year to prevent it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For routine cleanup, it is advised to use cool water along gentle dish soap to clean any dirt or stains. Be sure to wash using gentle circular movements, instead of rubbing.
