Helix Sleep markets hybrid mattresses made with dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores reinforced using polyfoam base layers. Helix User Reviews
Helix Sleep gives you complete mattress customization. Purchasers are asked to complete a survey that discusses their weight, height, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other factors. Based on these results, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following six mattress options; each respective variant offers a one-of-a-kind combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep mattresses with targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them ideal for side sleepers. While those that have moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are suitable for all sleep positions. Lighter individuals may feel most comfortable on models with balanced support, while individuals that weigh 130 lbs or more tend to favor the variants with additional support.
Helix Sleep also markets two mattresses with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and extra support). Both of these mattresses have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, making them great for couples with different preferences. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for bigger, heavier individuals. This variant has an additional layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable selection accommodates sleepers with a wide range of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also offer strong edge support, isolate motion transfer nicely, and produce less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix User Reviews

Construction Helix User Reviews
All 9 of the different iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction should be rather similar. The six core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in density and firmness depending upon the foams used in order to achieve more/less firmness and more/less support. The four unique foams utilized within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the mattresses have all of the foams – some just have 3 of the 4 – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the purchaser. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull to be able to offer 9 distinct mattresses (and hopefully have a mattress for everyone). Helix User Reviews
Underneath, I concisely discuss the construction (materials and quality) of your average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses come with the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I found it to be pliable and thin, allowing for some nice breathability. However, if you prefer something more luxurious, you can elect to swap out the regular cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase-change material to regulate heat.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you’ll discover a thick layer of memory foam. This material has a slow reaction to pressure, meaning you are likely to experience some great body contouring. Even though it may seem strange for a purportedly medium firmness mattress to incorporate a memory foam layer, it’s important to remember that the feeling of deep sinkage does not always translate to softness; in fact, oftentimes it generates quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After getting past the comfort layer, you will find a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to suppress the sinkage of the comfort layer and establish a supportive, medium firm feeling as you hit the pocketed coils below.
Support Layer – The bulk of the mattress consists of this segment of pocketed coils. This system brings a supportive lift to the construction, working to put the sleeper “on top” of the bed, as opposed to “in it”. Because the coils are wrapped individually, they are also going to allow additional breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last, you will uncover a thin section of high-density poly foam. This layer does not really affect the feel of the mattress too much, functioning mostly to give the pocketed coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After taking a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s talk about their varying feels and firmness levels.
The firmness level of the Helix is going to differ widely depending on which version you pick out. The Helix Dusk and Midnight, have moderate firmness levels, which is going to be very versatile and thus best-selling. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep is happy to provide you with more options.
Laying down on the Helix Midnight, the memory foam layer is soft and produces some quality body shaping, while the other materials within the mattress work to counteract this and create an overall firmer structure. The pocketed coils and the firmer support foams also assist with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there’s just enough good comfort material here to conform to your lumbar while supporting your back in a neutral position. For larger sleepers or those who want a firmer bed, there are 2 more options for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn variants.
Most side sleepers will feel perfectly comfy on the Midnight, however, if you are wanting a bit less pressure while still going with a flexible medium firmness, you may decide to check out the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and provides the surface a small bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically need to be mindful of pressure since they sleep with all their weight on a tinier region. People who are lighter than average or people looking for a lot of pressure relief may want to stay with the plusher variants.
Stomach sleepers should feel comfortable in the Midnight, particularly if this is not their main position or they have a tendency to switch things up a lot. Firmer mattresses might be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so they can ensure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their back.
Finally, the manufacturer suggests Helix mattresses for sleepers up to 350 pounds or couples who weigh a maximum of 250 pounds each. In the event you or your spouse are significantly larger than average, Helix has also produced a mattress called the Nightfall that is constructed to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 lbs.
Partners with different types of bodies or preferences may also select a dual comfort variant that combines Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if none of those models feel right, you could always check out the four other variants in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, a little firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest mattress of the bunch).
Now, let us talk about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that’s noticeable from 1 side of the bed to the other. While this will be significant for all buyers, those who sleep with a partner may find it especially interesting as it’ll illuminate just how bothered you will be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Helix User Reviews
According to my research, Helix Sleep exceeds expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space due to the quantity and quality of foam it incorporates, as well as the pocketed coils which help trap motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper afraid that motion from the opposite side of the bed will bother you, then you shouldn’t have a lot of concern with this mattress. I would say that all of the Helix mattresses are a good option for couples.
When purchasing a brand-new mattress, most people want to know whether they’ll feel as though they’re sinking “into” the it or laying “on top” of it.
Even though you may experience a little immediate sinkage from the soft foam on top, when you sink through these layers, you will reach the pocketed coils and experience amazing support. This combo will appeal to a wide range of individuals, but will satisfy stomach and back sleepers in particular.
Though I do feel the memory foam compress as I sit near the edge of the Helix Midnight, the individually-wrapped coils stop the mattress from compressing a lot . I feel very secure sitting on the mattress.
In my view, Helix mattresses are well above average for edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is because of their newly updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil system. There may be some compression in the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but laying on the side will feel comfortable and secure. Partners who want more space to stretch out typically appreciate strong edges.
Lying down, I feel like I could get close to the edge of the mattress without feeling like I’ll fall over or be pushed off the bed. Overall, I think the Helix has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of buying a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they typically come with. Helix is not any different. You customize the mattress that’s made for you, place your order, and within a couple of weeks, it is delivered to your door. From the minute you click to buy the mattress, you have 100 nights to test it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it isn’t ideal, you can return it for free of charge, and get a full refund.
Should you return the mattress, it isn’t restocked or resold. Actually, Helix locates a local place to donate it. If there’s no way Helix Sleep can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, it is recycled instead. Helix User Reviews
Helix offers an awesome 10-year guarantee that covers flaws, but it comes with some limitations, exceptions, plus the burden of proof is on the purchaser (like most guarantees ). Needless to say, you must be the first owner of the Helix to make use of the guarantee, and you need to be sure you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you will need to have a proper base (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4” apart) and that you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your Helix begins to show an indentation of 1” or longer, something that generally happens when low-density foams break down, you could qualify for a repair or replacement of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no turning, but it’s recommended that you rotate the mattress possibly once or twice a year to prevent it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For regular cleanup, it is suggested to use cool water along gentle dish soap to clean any dirt or stains. Make certain to wash using soft circular motions, instead of rubbing.
Final Thoughts Helix User Reviews
If you are shopping for a mattress and are not quite sure what feel that you need, Helix’s quiz and Color Match system may be the key to finding your very best sleep with little hassle. Their amazing system, which is based on expert sentiment and AI, was designed to better their client’s sleep by providing a better match. Helix User Reviews
The features of the Helix were thoughtfully manufactured to provide options whether you were looking for a mattress that keeps cool all night, if you wanted one to cradle your curves with a thick comfort system, or both! The pocketed coil unit should provide good edge support and movement transfer is minimal with their individually-wrapped construction.
Hopefully, I have provided you some notion of what the typical consumer can expect from this mattress, but it truly does provide an impressive range of customization with a choice for literally every particular need or desire. Your next best sleep could just be a short online quiz away.
