Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses manufactured using polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores fortified using polyfoam base layers. Helix Sleep Warranty
Helix Sleep allows full mattress customization. Buyers are requested to fill out a survey that asks for their weight, height, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other options. Based on these answers, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following six mattress models; each respective variant offers a unique combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep hybrids that have targeted cushioning conform closely, making them ideal for side sleepers. While those that have moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are suitable for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter people may feel most comfy on variants with balanced support, while individuals who weigh 130 lbs or more often favor the models with extra support.
Helix Sleep also markets two models with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with extra support and moderate cushioning). Both of these variants have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, which makes them great for couples with different tastes. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for larger, heavier people. This model has an extra layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses found that the customizable aspect conforms to sleepers with a wide assortment of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also offer strong edge support, isolate movement well, and create less noise than the average hybrid. Helix Sleep Warranty

Construction Helix Sleep Warranty
All nine of the different iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction should be fairly similar. The 6 core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in density and firmness depending upon the foams utilized in order to get more/less firmness and more/less support. The 4 different foams utilized within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the beds have all the foams – some only have 3 of the 4 – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the consumer. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull to be able to offer 9 distinct versions (and hopefully have a model for everyone). Helix Sleep Warranty
Underneath, I concisely discuss the construction (materials and quality) of the average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses have exactly the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I found it to be thin and pliable, allowing for some nice breathability. However, if you would like something more amped up, you can opt to swap out the standard cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is made up of a phase change fabric to regulate temperature.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you will discover a thick layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow reaction to pressure, meaning you’re probably going to experience some gratifying body shaping. Even though it may seem strange for a supposedly medium firm bed to feature a memory foam comfort layer, it’s important to remember that the presence of deep sinkage does not always translate to softness; in fact, oftentimes it produces quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After getting past the comfort layer, you’ll discover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to curb the sinkage of the memory foam and set a supportive, medium firm feel as you reach the pocketed coils below.
Support Layer – The bulk of the mattress consists of this section of pocketed coils. This system gives a supportive lift to the structure, working to place the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, instead of “in it”. Because the coils are wrapped individually, they are also going to give extra breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Lastly, you’ll uncover a thin section of high-density poly foam. This layer does not really affect the feel of the bed too much, functioning mostly to give the individually wrapped coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After having a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us talk about their different firmness levels and feels.
The firmness of the Helix is going to differ widely depending on the version you pick out. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have medium firmness levels, which will be quite versatile and therefore exceptionally popular. If you have more specific needs, however, Helix Sleep is happy to oblige you with additional choices.
Lying down on the Midnight, the memory foam layer feels soft and generates some top quality body shaping, while the other materials within the mattress work to counteract this and make an overall firmer composition. The firmer support foams and pocketed coils also assist with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there is enough good comfort material in the Helix Midnight to conform to your lower spine while supporting your whole back in a neutral position. For heavier buyers or people who want a firmer mattress, there are two more options for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight models.
Majority of side sleepers will feel totally comfortable on the Midnight, however, if you are wanting a bit less pressure while still going with a flexible medium firmness, you might want to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and gives the surface a small bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically have to be more mindful of pressure because they sleep with all their weight on a smaller area. Those who are lighter than average or those looking for a lot of pressure relief might want to stick to the plusher models.
Stomach sleepers will feel comfortable in the Midnight, particularly if this is not their primary position or they have a tendency to change things up a lot. Firmer mattresses might be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so that they can make sure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their backbone.
Lastly, the manufacturer recommends Helix for sleepers around 350 pounds or couples who weigh a maximum of 250 pounds each. If you or your partner are substantially larger than average, the company has also created a mattress called the Nightfall that’s built to accommodate a total weight of 1000 pounds.
Partners with different body types or tastes may also pick a dual comfort model that combines Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if neither of these options seem quite right, you may always have a look at the 4 other mattresses in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, a little firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest option in the line).
Now, let’s talk about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that is noticeable from 1 side of the mattress to the other. While this is going to be significant for many people, those who doze with a partner may find it particularly intriguing as it’ll show just how bothered you’ll be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Helix Sleep Warranty
Based on my observation, Helix Sleep surpasses expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space because of the quantity and quality of foam it contains, as well as the individually wrapped coils that help keep motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper concerned that motion from the other side of the bed will wake you, you should not have a lot of concern with this mattress. I would say that any of the Helix mattresses are a good option for couples.
When buying a new mattress, most people wish to know whether they will feel like they’re sinking “into” the it or laying “on top” of it.
While you may experience some immediate sinkage from the soft foam at the top, when you sink through those layers, you are going to hit the individually-wrapped coils and experience great support. This combo will appeal to a wide assortment of individuals, but will suit stomach and back sleepers the most.
Though I do feel the memory foam collapse as I sit close to the edge of the bed, the individually-wrapped coils stop the mattress from compressing a lot beyond that. I feel very secured seated on the mattress.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses are well above average when it comes to edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is due to their newly updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil unit. There can be a little compression in the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but lying on the side will feel comfy and secure. Partners who need more space to stretch out typically appreciate stronger edges.
Laying down, I feel like I could get near the edge of the bed without feeling like I’ll fall off or be ejected from the mattress. Overall, I believe that the Helix has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of purchasing a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they typically include. Helix is not any different. You customize the mattress that is made for you, place your order, and in a couple of weeks, it is delivered to your home. From the moment you click to purchase the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to try it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it isn’t what you wanted, you can return it free, and get a complete refund.
If you do return the mattress, it isn’t restocked or resold. Actually, Helix locates a local place to donate it. When there’s no way the company can find a way to donate your returned mattress, they have it recycled instead. Helix Sleep Warranty
The Helix Mattress includes a generous 10-year warranty that covers flaws, but it comes with a few limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the consumer (like most warranties). Needless to say, you must be the first owner of the mattress to use the guarantee, and you need to be sure you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty should be valid. That means you need to have a suitable base (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4 inches apart) and you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on it!
If your mattress starts to have an indentation of 1” or longer, something that generally happens when low-density foams break down, then you could be eligible for a repair or replacement of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no flipping, but it is recommended that you rotate the mattress possibly a couple of times a year to prevent it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For routine cleaning, it is suggested to use cold water with gentle dish detergent to clean any dirt or stains. Make certain that you clean using soft circular motions, instead of rubbing.
