Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses manufactured with dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores enhanced with polyfoam base layers. Helix Sleep Salaries
Helix Sleep allows complete mattress customization. Buyers are asked to fill out a survey that discusses their weight, height, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other factors. Then based on these results, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following 6 mattress options; each respective variant gives a unique combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep mattresses with targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them ideal for those who sleep on their side. While those with moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are ideal for all sleep positions. Lighter people may feel most comfy on models with balanced support, while people who weigh 130 pounds or more tend to favor the models with additional support.
Helix Sleep also offers 2 models with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and additional support). Both these mattresses have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, making them great for couples with different preferences. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for bigger, heavier people. This mattress has an extra layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable selection conforms to sleepers with a large range of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate movement well, and create less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Sleep Salaries

Construction Helix Sleep Salaries
All 9 of the various iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction will be rather similar. The 6 core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in firmness and density based on the foams utilized in order to get more/less firmness and more/less support. The 4 different foams used within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the variants have all of the foams – some just have three of the four – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the purchaser. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer nine unique models (and supposedly have a model for everybody). Helix Sleep Salaries
Below, I briefly talk about the construction (materials and quality) of your average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses come with the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I found it to be thin and stretchy, allowing for some wonderful breathability. However, if you prefer something more amped up, you can opt to swap out the normal cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is made up of a phase-change material for temperature regulation.
Comfort Layer – On top, you will encounter a heavy layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow reaction to pressure, which means you’re likely to experience some great body shaping. Even though it may seem odd for a supposedly medium firm mattress to make use of a memory foam comfort layer, it is crucial to remember that the feeling of deep sinkage does not necessarily translate to softness; in fact, most of the time it generates quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After getting past the comfort layer, you’ll find a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to curb the sinkage of the memory foam and set a supportive, medium firm feel as you hit the pocketed coils underneath.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress is made up of this section of pocketed coils. This system gives a supportive lift into the construction, working to position the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, as opposed to “in it”. Because the coils are individually wrapped, they are also going to give extra breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last, you will find a thin section of high-density poly foam. This section does not affect the feel of the mattress too much, functioning mostly to give the individually wrapped coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After taking a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us discuss their different firmness levels and feels.
The firmness of the Helix is going to differ widely depending on the variant you choose. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which will be very versatile and therefore best-selling. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep would be happy to provide you with more options.
Lying down on the Midnight, the uppermost foam comfort layer is soft and produces some high quality body shaping, while the other materials within the Midnight work to control this and make an overall firmer structure. The individually-wrapped coils and the firmer support foams also help with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there’s enough good comfort material here to conform to your lumbar while supporting your upper spine in a neutral position. For larger sleepers or those who want a firmer mattress, there are 2 more models for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight models.
Most side sleepers will feel totally comfortable on the Midnight, but, if you are wanting a bit less pressure while still going with a flexible medium firmness, you might decide to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and gives the surface a small bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically have to be mindful of pressure because they sleep with all their weight on a smaller area. People who are smaller than average or those in the market for lots of pressure relief may want to stay with the plusher models.
Stomach sleepers should feel comfortable in the Midnight, particularly if this is not their main position or they tend to change things up a lot. Firmer choices might be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so that they can ensure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their backbone.
Lastly, Helix Sleep recommends Helix for sleepers around 350 lbs or couples who weigh up to 250 lbs each. If you or your spouse are substantially bigger than average, the company has also produced a mattress called the Nightfall that is created to accommodate a total weight of 1000 pounds.
Couples with different body types or tastes may also select a dual comfort option that combines Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if none of these models feel quite right, you may always have a look at the 4 other beds in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, slightly firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest mattress in the line).
Now, let’s talk about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that’s noticeable from 1 side of the mattress to the other. While this is going to be significant for all buyers, those who sleep with a partner may find it particularly intriguing as it will illuminate just how bothered you may be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Helix Sleep Salaries
Based on my observation, Helix surpasses expectations for hybrids in this space because of the amount and quality of foam it incorporates, in addition to the pocketed coils that help keep motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper worried that motion from the other side of the bed will bother you, then you should not have a lot of concern with this hybrid. I would say that all of the Helix mattresses are a good choice for couples.
When buying a brand-new mattress, the majority of individuals wish to know whether they will feel like they’re sinking “into” the mattress or lying “on top” of it.
While you’re likely to encounter a little immediate sinkage in the uppermost foam layers, when you sink through those layers, you’ll hit the individually-wrapped coils and experience amazing support. This combo will interest a vast range of individuals, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers in particular.
Though I do feel the foam compress as I sit near the edge of the Helix Midnight, the individually-wrapped coils stop the mattress from collapsing a lot . I feel very secured sitting on the bed.
In my view, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is due to their freshly updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil unit. There can be some compression at the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but lying on the side will feel comfy and safe. Partners who need more space to stretch out normally love strong edges.
Lying down, I also feel like I could get near the edge of the bed without feeling like I’ll fall off or be ejected from the mattress. Overall, I think that the Helix has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of purchasing a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they usually come with. Helix Sleep is no different. You customize the mattress that’s meant for you, place your order, and in two weeks, it’s sent to your home. From the moment you click to buy the mattress, you have 100 nights to check it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it is not what you wanted, you can return it for free, and receive a full refund.
Should you return the mattress, it is not restocked or resold. Actually, Helix Sleep locates a local place to donate it. If there is no way Helix can find a way to donate your returned mattress, they have it recycled instead. Helix Sleep Salaries
Helix Sleep offers a generous 10-year guarantee that covers flaws, but it has limitations, exceptions, and the burden of proof is on the customer (like most warranties). Of course, you must be the first owner of the Helix to use the warranty, and you will need to be sure that you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all of Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you need to have a proper base (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4” apart) and you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your Helix starts to show an indentation of 1” or longer, which is what usually happens when low-density foams break down, you could qualify for a repair or replacement of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no turning, but it’s suggested that you rotate the mattress possibly once or twice a year to keep it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For routine cleaning, it is advised to use cool water with gentle dish detergent to clean any stains or dirt. Make certain to wash using gentle circular motions, rather than rubbing.
