Helix Sleep sells hybrid mattresses manufactured with polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores reinforced using polyfoam base layers. Helix Sleep Price
Helix Sleep offers full mattress customization. Buyers are asked to fill out a questionnaire that asks for their weight, height, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other factors. Then based on these results, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following six mattress models; each individual variant offers a one-of-a-kind combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep mattresses that have targeted cushioning conform closely, making them perfect for those who sleep on their side. While mattresses with moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are ideal for all sleep positions. Lighter people may feel most comfortable on models with balanced support, while people that weigh 130 lbs or more tend to prefer the models with extra support.
Helix Sleep also markets 2 mattresses with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and additional support). Both these models have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, which makes them ideal for couples with different preferences. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for bigger, heavier people. This variant has an additional layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses found that the customizable aspect accommodates sleepers with a wide assortment of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also provide strong edge support, isolate motion transfer nicely, and create less noise than the average hybrid. Helix Sleep Price

Construction Helix Sleep Price
All 9 of the various iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction should be quite similar. The 6 core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in density and firmness depending on the foams used in order to achieve more/less support and more/less firmness. The 4 unique foams used within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the models have all of the foams – some just have 3 of the 4 – but it really won’t matter much for the purchaser. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer 9 distinct versions (and hopefully have a mattress for everybody). Helix Sleep Price
Underneath, I quickly talk about the construction (materials and quality) of your typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses have exactly the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I found it to be stretchy and thin, allowing for some great breathability. But, if you would like something more amped up, you can choose to swap out the normal cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase change material to regulate heat.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you will encounter a heavy layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow reaction to pressure, which means you’re likely to experience some gratifying body contouring. Even though it may seem odd for a purportedly medium firm bed to incorporate a memory foam layer, it’s important to remember that the feeling of deep sinkage does not necessarily translate to softness; in fact, oftentimes it generates quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the comfort layer, you’ll discover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to curb the sinkage of the comfort layer and set a supportive, medium firm feeling as you reach the individually wrapped coils underneath.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress consists of this section of individually wrapped coils. This system gives a supportive lift into the structure, working to put the sleeper “on top” of the bed, instead of “in it”. Since the coils are wrapped individually, they are also likely to give extra breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last, you’ll uncover a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This layer does not really affect the feel of the mattress too much, functioning mostly to provide the pocketed coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After having a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s discuss their varying feels and firmness levels.
The firmness of the Helix will vary widely depending on the model you pick out. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which tends to be quite versatile and thus best-selling. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep is happy to oblige you with more choices.
Laying down on the Midnight, the memory foam layer is soft and generates some quality body contouring, while the other materials in the Midnight work to control this and make an overall firmer composition. The pocketed coils and the firmer support foams also assist with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there is just enough good comfort material in the mattress to conform to your lumbar while supporting your back in a neutral position. For heavier buyers or those who want a firmer bed, there are two more models for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight models.
Majority of side sleepers should feel perfectly comfortable on the Midnight, but, if you are wanting a bit less pressure while still going with a versatile medium firmness, you may decide to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and gives the surface a small bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically have to be more mindful of pressure since they sleep with most their weight on a tinier area. Those who are lighter than average or people in the market for plenty of pressure relief may want to stick to the plusher variants.
Stomach sleepers will feel supported in the Midnight, particularly if this isn’t their primary position or they have a tendency to change things up a lot. Firmer choices might be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so they can ensure their hips do not dip and over-arch their back.
Lastly, the manufacturer suggests Helix for sleepers up to 350 pounds or partners that weigh a maximum of 250 pounds each. If you or your partner are significantly bigger than average, Helix has also created a bed called the Nightfall that is made to accommodate a total weight of 1000 lbs.
Partners with differing types of bodies or tastes may also pick a dual comfort model that combines Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if none of those models seem right, you could always check out the four other models in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, slightly firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest mattress of the bunch).
Next up, let’s chat about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that is detectable from one side of the mattress to the other. While this is going to be significant for all sleepers, those who sleep with a spouse may find it particularly interesting as it’ll show just how bothered you will be by your partner’s nighttime movements. According to my research, Helix exceeds expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space due to the quantity and quality of foam it incorporates, as well as the pocketed coils which help keep motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper worried that motion from the opposite side of the mattress will wake you, you should not have a lot of concern with this mattress. I’d say that all of the Helix mattresses would be a good option for couples.
When buying a brand-new mattress, the majority of men and women would like to know whether they’ll feel like they are sinking “into” the mattress or lying “on top” of it.
Even though you may experience a little immediate sinkage in the soft foam on top, when you sink through those layers, you’ll hit the individually-wrapped coils and feel amazing support. This combo will interest a vast assortment of sleepers, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers in particular.
Though I do feel the foam compress as I sit close to the edge of the mattress, the pocketed coils stop the mattress from collapsing too much beyond that. I feel quite secure sitting on the bed.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses perform above average for edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is due to their newly updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil unit. There may be a little compression at the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but laying on the side should feel comfortable and secure. Couples who need more space to stretch out normally love strong edges.
Laying down, I also feel like I could get near the edge of the mattress without feeling like I will fall over or be pushed off the bed. Overall, I think the Helix mattress has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of purchasing a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they usually come with. Helix Mattress is no different. You customize the mattress that’s meant for you, place your order, and within 2 weeks, it’s delivered to your door. From the moment you click to purchase the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to check it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it is not ideal, you can return it for free of charge, and receive a full refund.
If you do return the mattress, it is not resold or restocked. In fact, Helix finds a local place to donate it. If there is no way Helix Sleep can find a way to donate your returned mattress, it’s recycled instead. Helix Sleep Price
The Helix Mattress includes an amazing 10-year warranty that covers flaws, but it comes with some limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the consumer (like most warranties). Of course, you should be the original owner of the mattress to make use of the warranty, and you will need to be sure that you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all of Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty will be valid. That means you need to use a proper foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4 inches apart) and you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on it!
If your mattress starts to have an indentation of 1” or longer, which is what generally happens when low-density foams break down, then you could qualify for a repair or replacement of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no flipping, but it’s suggested that you rotate the mattress possibly once or twice a year to keep it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For routine cleanup, it is advised to use cold water with gentle dish detergent to clean any dirt or stains. Be certain to clean using gentle circular movements, instead of rubbing.
