Helix Sleep sells hybrid mattresses manufactured with polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores fortified with polyfoam base layers. Helix Sleep Headquarters
Helix Sleep allows full mattress customization. Buyers are urged to fill out a survey that discusses their height, weight, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other elements. Based on these results, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following 6 mattress variants; each respective model gives a one-of-a-kind combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep hybrids with targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them ideal for those who sleep on their side. While mattresses with moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are suitable for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter men and women may feel more comfortable on models with balanced support, while individuals who weigh 130 pounds or more tend to prefer the models with additional support.
Helix Sleep also markets two variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and additional support). Both of these models have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, which makes them ideal for couples with differing tastes. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for larger, heavier individuals. This variant has an extra layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses found that the customizable aspect conforms to sleepers with a large range of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also provide strong edge support, isolate movement nicely, and create less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Sleep Headquarters

Construction Helix Sleep Headquarters
All nine of the different iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction should be fairly similar. The six core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in density and firmness depending upon the foams utilized in order to achieve more/less firmness and more/less support. The four unique foams utilized within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the mattresses have all of the foams – some just have 3 of the 4 – but it really won’t matter much for the purchaser. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer 9 distinct versions (and hopefully have a model for everyone). Helix Sleep Headquarters
Below, I quickly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of the typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses have exactly the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I thought it to be thin and pliable, allowing for some great breathability. But, if you would like something more luxurious, you can elect to swap out the standard cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase change material for temperature regulation.
Comfort Layer – On top, you’ll encounter a thick layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow response to pressure, which means you’re probably going to experience some great body contouring. Even though it may seem odd for a purportedly medium firm mattress to make use of a memory foam comfort layer, it is important to remember that the feeling of deep sinkage doesn’t necessarily translate to softness; in actuality, most of the time it gives quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After getting past the comfort layer, you will find a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to suppress the sinkage of the comfort layer and set a supportive, medium firm feel as you hit the pocketed coils below.
Support Layer – The majority of the mattress consists of this section of individually wrapped coils. This system gives a supportive lift into the construction, working to position the sleeper “on top” of the bed, instead of “in it”. Since these coils are wrapped individually, they are also likely to allow extra breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last but not least, you will uncover a thin section of high-density poly foam. This section doesn’t affect the feel of the mattress too much, working mostly to give the individually wrapped coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After having a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s talk about their varying feels and firmness levels.
The firmness of the Helix will differ widely depending on the variant you pick out. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which is going to be quite versatile and therefore best-selling. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep will be happy to oblige you with additional options.
Lying down on the Helix Midnight, the memory foam layer feels soft and produces some quality body shaping, while the other materials within the mattress work to control this and make an overall firmer composition. The pocketed coils and the firmer support foams also assist with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there is just enough good comfort material here to conform to your lumbar while supporting your upper spine in a neutral position. For larger sleepers or those who want a firmer bed, there are two more options for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight models.
Many side sleepers will feel perfectly comfortable on the Midnight, but, if you are wanting a bit less pressure while still going with a versatile medium firmness, you may want to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and provides the surface a little bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically need to be more mindful of pressure because they sleep with most their weight on a smaller region. People who are lighter than average or people in the market for a lot of pressure relief may want to stay with the plusher variants.
Stomach sleepers will feel supported in the Midnight, especially if this is not their primary position or they have a tendency to switch things up a lot. Firmer choices might be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so that they can make sure their hips do not dip and over-arch their back.
Last, the manufacturer recommends Helix for sleepers up to 350 pounds or couples that weigh up to 250 lbs each. In the event you or your spouse are significantly bigger than average, the company has also produced a mattress called the Nightfall that’s made to accommodate a total weight of 1000 lbs.
Partners with different types of bodies or preferences may also select a dual comfort variant that pairs Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if neither of those options feel right, you can always have a look at the four other mattresses in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, slightly firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest mattress in the line).
Next up, let us chat about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that is detectable from 1 side of the bed to the other. While this will be significant for many buyers, those who doze with a spouse may find it especially intriguing as it will show just how bothered you may be by your partner’s nighttime movements. Helix Sleep Headquarters
Based on my observation, Helix Sleep exceeds expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space due to the quantity and quality of foam it incorporates, in addition to the pocketed coils that help keep motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper worried that movement from the opposite side of the bed will wake you, then you should not have a lot of concern with this hybrid. I’d say that any of the Helix mattresses would be a good option for couples.
When purchasing a new mattress, most men and women wish to know whether they’ll feel as though they’re sinking “into” the it or lying “on top” of it.
Even though you may experience a little immediate sinkage from the uppermost foam layers, by the time you sink through these layers, you are going to reach the individually-wrapped coils and find amazing support. This combination will appeal to a wide assortment of individuals, but will suit stomach and back sleepers in particular.
While I do feel the foam compress as I sit near the edge of the mattress, the pocketed coils prevent the mattress from collapsing too much . I feel quite secured sitting on the bed.
In my view, Helix mattresses are well above average when it comes to edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is due to their freshly updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil system. There can be some compression at the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but lying on the side should feel comfy and secure. Partners who need more space to stretch out typically appreciate stronger edges.
Lying down, I also feel like I can get close to the edge of the bed without feeling like I’ll roll over or be pushed off the mattress. Overall, I think the Helix has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of purchasing a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they typically include. Helix Sleep is not any different. You create the mattress that is intended for you, place your order, and in two weeks, it is delivered to your door. From the moment you click to purchase the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to check it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it isn’t perfect, you can return it for free of charge, and receive a complete refund.
If you do return the mattress, it isn’t restocked or resold. Actually, Helix Sleep locates a local place to donate it. When there’s no way Helix can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, they have it recycled instead. Helix Sleep Headquarters
Helix offers a generous 10-year warranty that covers defects, but it has limitations, exceptions, and the burden of proof is on the consumer (like most warranties). Needless to say, you must be the original owner of the mattress to make use of the warranty, and you need to be sure you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all of the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you will need to have a suitable foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4 inches apart) and that you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your Helix starts to have an indentation of 1 inch or longer, which is what generally happens when low-density foams break down, then you could be eligible for a repair or replacement of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no turning, but it is suggested that you rotate the mattress perhaps once or twice a year to keep it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For routine cleaning, it’s advised to use cold water along gentle dish soap to clean any stains or dirt. Be certain that you wash using soft circular movements, rather than rubbing.
