Helix Sleep markets hybrid mattresses manufactured using dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores fortified with polyfoam base layers. Helix Sleep Cost
Helix Sleep gives you complete mattress customization. Buyers are urged to fill out a questionnaire that asks for their height, weight, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other factors. Based on these answers, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following six mattress variants; each individual option provides a unique combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep hybrids that have targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them optimal for side sleepers. While hybrids that have moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are great for all sleep positions. Lighter people may feel more comfy on models with balanced support, while those who weigh 130 pounds or more often prefer the models with additional support.
Helix Sleep also offers two variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and extra support). Both of these models have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, making them suitable for couples with different tastes. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for bigger, heavier people. This mattress has an additional layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses found that the customizable aspect conforms to sleepers with a wide variety of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate motion transfer nicely, and create less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Sleep Cost

Construction Helix Sleep Cost
All 9 of the various iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction will be rather similar. The six core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in density and firmness depending upon the foams used in order to achieve more/less support and more/less firmness. The four different foams used within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the models have all the foams – some just have 3 of the 4 – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the consumer. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull to be able to offer nine different variants (and hopefully have a mattress for everybody). Helix Sleep Cost
Below, I briefly talk about the construction (materials and quality) of your average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses have the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I thought it to be stretchy and thin, allowing for some wonderful breathability. However, if you prefer something more amped up, you can elect to swap out the standard cover for the UltraCool one, which is made up of a phase change fabric to regulate temperature.
Comfort Layer – On top, you will discover a heavy layer of memory foam. This material has a slow reaction to pressure, which means you are probably going to experience some gratifying body contouring. While it might seem odd for a purportedly medium firm bed to feature a memory foam comfort layer, it’s crucial to remember that the feeling of deep sinkage doesn’t necessarily translate to softness; in fact, most of the time it produces quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After getting past the comfort layer, you’ll discover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to suppress the sinkage of the comfort layer and establish a supportive, medium firm feel as you reach the pocketed coils below.
Support Layer – The bulk of the mattress is made up of this segment of individually wrapped coils. This system brings a supportive lift to the structure, working to position the sleeper “on top” of the bed, instead of “in it”. Because these coils are wrapped individually, they are also going to give additional breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last but not least, you’ll discover a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This section doesn’t affect the feel of the bed too much, functioning mostly to give the pocketed coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After having a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s talk about their different firmness levels and feels.
The firmness level of the Helix is going to vary widely depending on which variant you pick out. The Helix Dusk and Midnight, have medium firmness levels, which tends to be quite versatile and thus best-selling. If you have more specific needs, however, Helix Sleep would be happy to provide you with more choices.
Laying down on the Helix Midnight, the uppermost foam comfort layer is soft and produces some quality body contouring, while the rest of the materials within the mattress work to control this and create an overall firmer structure. The pocketed coils and the firmer support foams also help with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there’s enough good comfort material here to conform to your lumbar while supporting your back in a neutral position. For heavier buyers or people who prefer a firmer bed, there are two more choices for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn variants.
Majority of side sleepers will feel totally comfortable on the Midnight, however, if you’re needing a bit less pressure while still going with a flexible medium firmness, you may want to check out the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and gives the surface a little bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically need to be more mindful of pressure because they sleep with all of their weight on a tinier area. People who are smaller than average or people looking for plenty of pressure relief may want to stay with the plusher variants.
Those who sleep on their stomach should feel comfortable in the Midnight, particularly if this is not their main position or they have a tendency to change things up a lot. Firmer choices might be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so that they can make sure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their back.
Last, the manufacturer suggests Helix mattresses for sleepers around 350 pounds or partners who weigh a maximum of 250 pounds each. If you or your spouse are substantially bigger than average, the company has also created a mattress called the Nightfall that is made to accommodate a total weight of 1000 pounds.
Partners with differing body types or preferences can also select a dual comfort model that combines Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if neither of those options feel right, you can always check out the four other mattresses in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, a little firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest variant of the bunch).
Next up, let us talk about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that’s detectable from 1 side of the mattress to the other. While this is going to be significant for many buyers, those who doze with a spouse may find it particularly interesting as it will show just how bothered you will be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. According to my research, Helix surpasses expectations for hybrids in this space because of the amount and quality of foam it incorporates, in addition to the pocketed coils that help trap motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper afraid that motion from the other side of the mattress will wake you, you should not have much concern with this hybrid. I would say that any of the Helix mattresses are a good option for couples.
While buying a new mattress, the majority of people want to know whether they will feel as though they’re sinking “into” the it or lying “on top” of it.
While you are going to encounter some immediate sinkage in the soft foam at the top, by the time you sink through these layers, you will find the individually-wrapped coils and experience fantastic support. This combo will appeal to a vast assortment of individuals, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers the most.
While I do feel the foam collapse as I sit near the edge of the bed, the pocketed coils stop the mattress from collapsing too much beyond that. I feel very secure sitting on the bed.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses perform above average for edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is due to their newly updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil unit. There can be some compression in the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but lying on the side will feel comfy and secure. Couples who want more space to stretch out normally love stronger edges.
Lying down, I feel like I can get close to the edge of the mattress without feeling like I will roll over or be pushed off the mattress. Overall, I think that the Helix has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of buying a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they typically include. Helix is no different. You customize the mattress that is intended for you, place your order, and in a couple of weeks, it is sent to your home. From the minute you click to purchase the mattress, you have 100 nights to test it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it is not ideal, you can return it free, and receive a complete refund.
Should you return the mattress, it is not resold or restocked. Actually, Helix locates a local place to donate it. If there is no way Helix Sleep can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, it is recycled instead. Helix Sleep Cost
Helix offers a generous 10-year guarantee that covers defects, but it comes with some limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the customer (like most guarantees ). Of course, you must be the original owner of the mattress to make use of the warranty, and you will need to be sure that you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you need to have a suitable foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4” apart) and you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on it!
If your mattress begins to show an indentation of 1 inch or more, something that usually happens when low-density foams break down, you could qualify for a replacement or repair of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no flipping, but it’s recommended that you rotate the mattress perhaps once or twice a year to keep it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For routine cleanup, it’s advised to use cool water along gentle dish detergent to clean any dirt or stains. Be sure to wash using soft circular movements, instead of rubbing.
