Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses made with dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores reinforced using polyfoam base layers. Helix Sleep Corporate Profile
Helix Sleep offers full mattress customization. Purchasers are requested to complete a survey that discusses their height, weight, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other options. Based on these answers, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following six mattress variants; each respective variant offers a one-of-a-kind combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep hybrids with targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them optimal for those who sleep on their side. While mattresses with moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are great for all sleep positions. Lighter men and women may feel more comfortable on variants with balanced support, while people that weigh 130 pounds or more tend to favor the models with additional support.
Helix Sleep also markets two models with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with extra support and moderate cushioning). Both of these variants have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, which makes them ideal for couples with different preferences. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for bigger, heavier individuals. This mattress has an extra layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses found that the customizable selection accommodates sleepers with a wide range of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate motion transfer nicely, and create less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Sleep Corporate Profile

Construction Helix Sleep Corporate Profile
All 9 of the various iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction should be quite similar. The 6 core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in density and firmness based on the foams utilized in order to achieve more/less firmness and more/less support. The four unique foams used within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the mattresses have all of the foams – some just have 3 of the 4 – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the consumer. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer nine unique versions (and hopefully have a mattress for everyone). Helix Sleep Corporate Profile
Below, I briefly talk about the construction (materials and quality) of the typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses come with exactly the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I thought it to be pliable and thin, allowing for some great breathability. However, if you would like something more lavish, you can choose to swap out the regular cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase change fabric to regulate heat.
Comfort Layer – On top, you’ll find a heavy layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow reaction to pressure, meaning you’re likely to encounter some gratifying body shaping. Even though it may seem odd for a supposedly medium firmness mattress to feature a memory foam comfort layer, it’s crucial to remember that the existence of deep sinkage does not necessarily translate to softness; in actuality, most of the time it produces quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the comfort layer, you’ll find a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to suppress the sinkage of the memory foam and create a supportive, medium firm feeling as you hit the pocketed coils underneath.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress is made up of this segment of individually wrapped coils. This system brings a supportive lift into the structure, working to put the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, as opposed to “in it”. Because these coils are individually wrapped, they’re also likely to encourage extra breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last, you will uncover a thin section of high-density poly foam. This layer does not affect the feel of the mattress too much, functioning mostly to provide the individually wrapped coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After having a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us discuss their varying feels and firmness levels.
The firmness level of the Helix is going to vary widely depending on which version you choose. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which tends to be very versatile and therefore very popular. If you have more specific requirements, however, Helix Sleep is happy to provide you with additional options.
Laying down on the Helix Midnight, the memory foam comfort layer is soft and produces some quality body shaping, while the rest of the materials in the Midnight work to counteract this and make an overall firmer structure. The individually-wrapped coils and the firmer support foams also help with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there is enough good comfort material in the Midnight to conform to your lower spine while supporting your upper spine in a neutral position. For larger buyers or those who prefer a firmer bed, there are 2 more options for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight models.
Many side sleepers will feel totally comfy on the Midnight, however, if you are needing less pressure while still sticking with a flexible medium firmness, you might want to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and gives the surface a small bit of bounce.
Side sleepers typically have to be mindful of pressure because they sleep with all their weight on a smaller region. Those who are smaller than average or people looking for lots of pressure relief might want to stick to the plusher models.
Those who sleep on their stomach will feel supported in the Midnight, particularly if this isn’t their main position or they have a tendency to change things up a lot. Firmer mattresses may be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so they can make sure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their backbone.
Lastly, Helix Sleep recommends Helix mattresses for sleepers around 350 pounds or partners who weigh up to 250 lbs each. In the event you or your partner are significantly larger than average, Helix has also produced a bed called the Nightfall that’s constructed to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 lbs.
Couples with different types of bodies or tastes may also select a dual comfort option that combines Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if none of those options seem right, you could always have a look at the 4 other mattresses in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, slightly firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest option in the collection).
Now, let us talk about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that is noticeable from 1 side of the bed to the other. While this will be crucial for many buyers, those who sleep with a partner may find it particularly intriguing as it’ll illuminate just how bothered you may be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Helix Sleep Corporate Profile
Based on my observation, Helix Sleep exceeds expectations for hybrids in this space because of the amount and quality of foam it contains, as well as the pocketed coils which help keep motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper afraid that motion from the opposite side of the bed will wake you, you should not have much concern with this hybrid. I’d say that any of the Helix mattresses would be a good option for couples.
When purchasing a new mattress, the majority of men and women want to know whether they will feel like they are sinking “into” the it or lying “on top” of it.
Even though you’re going to encounter some immediate sinkage in the soft foam at the top, by the time you sink through those layers, you’ll find the pocketed coils and feel great support. This combination will appeal to a vast assortment of individuals, but will satisfy stomach and back sleepers the most.
Though I do feel the memory foam compress as I sit near the edge of the Helix Midnight, the pocketed coils stop the mattress from compressing a lot . I feel quite secured seated on the mattress.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is because of their newly updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil unit. There can be a little compression in the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but laying on the side will feel comfortable and safe. Partners who need more space to stretch out normally love stronger edges.
Laying down, I feel like I could get near the edge of the bed without feeling like I’ll roll over or be pushed off the mattress. Overall, I think that the Helix has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of purchasing a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they usually come with. Helix is no different. You create the mattress that’s intended for you, place your order, and within two weeks, it is sent to your door. From the minute you click to purchase the mattress, you have 100 nights to try it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it isn’t what you wanted, you can return it free, and get a full refund.
If you do return the mattress, it is not resold or restocked. In fact, Helix locates a local place to donate it. If there’s no way Helix can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, it is recycled instead. Helix Sleep Corporate Profile
Helix offers a generous 10-year warranty that covers flaws, but it has limitations, exceptions, plus the burden of proof is on the purchaser (like most guarantees ). Of course, you must be the original owner of the Helix to use the guarantee, and you need to be sure that you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you need to have a proper foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4” apart) and you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your mattress starts to have an indentation of 1 inch or more, which is what generally happens when low-density foams break down, you could qualify for a repair or replacement of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no flipping, but it’s suggested that you rotate the mattress possibly once or twice a year to keep it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For routine cleanup, it is suggested to use cool water along gentle dish detergent to clean any stains or dirt. Be sure to wash using gentle circular motions, instead of rubbing.
