Helix Sleep markets hybrid mattresses manufactured with dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores enhanced with polyfoam base layers. Helix Sleep.Com/Benguest
Helix Sleep offers full mattress customization. Buyers are urged to complete a questionnaire that discusses their height, weight, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other elements. Then based on these answers, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following 6 mattress variants; each respective model provides a unique combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep mattresses with targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them ideal for side sleepers. While those that have moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are suitable for all sleep positions. Lighter men and women may feel most comfortable on models with balanced support, while those who weigh 130 pounds or more tend to favor the variants with extra support.
Helix Sleep also markets 2 mattresses with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and additional support). Both these models have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, which makes them ideal for couples with different preferences. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for larger, heavier individuals. This model has an extra layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses found that the customizable selection accommodates sleepers with a wide assortment of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also provide strong edge support, isolate motion transfer well, and produce less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Sleep.Com/Benguest

Construction Helix Sleep.Com/Benguest
All nine of the various iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction should be rather similar. The 6 core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in firmness and density based on the foams utilized in order to achieve more/less support and more/less firmness. The 4 different foams used within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the mattresses have all the foams – some only have 3 of the 4 – but it really won’t matter much for the consumer. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer 9 different models (and hopefully have a mattress for everybody). Helix Sleep.Com/Benguest
Below, I briefly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of your average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses come with the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I found it to be pliable and thin, allowing for some wonderful breathability. However, if you would like something more luxurious, you can choose to swap out the normal cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is made up of a phase change fabric to regulate heat.
Comfort Layer – On top, you’ll discover a heavy layer of memory foam. This material has a slow reaction to pressure, meaning you are likely to experience some satisfying body shaping. While it might seem strange for a supposedly medium firm mattress to incorporate a memory foam layer, it is important to remember that the presence of deep sinkage does not necessarily translate to softness; in actuality, most of the time it gives quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the comfort layer, you will discover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to curb the sinkage of the comfort layer and establish a supportive, medium firm feeling as you reach the pocketed coils below.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress is made up of this segment of pocketed coils. This system gives a supportive lift into the construction, working to position the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, as opposed to “in it”. Because these coils are individually wrapped, they’re also going to encourage extra breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last, you’ll find a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This segment doesn’t really affect the feel of the mattress too much, functioning mostly to give the individually wrapped coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After taking a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s talk about their varying firmness levels and feels.
The firmness of the Helix is going to vary widely depending on which version you choose. The Helix Dusk and Midnight, have medium firmness levels, which tends to be quite versatile and thus best-selling. If you have more specific requirements, however, Helix Sleep is happy to provide you with additional choices.
Lying down on the Midnight, the uppermost foam comfort layer feels soft and produces some quality body contouring, while the other materials in the mattress work to control this and create an overall firmer composition. The firmer support foams and individually-wrapped coils also assist with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there’s enough good comfort material in the Helix Midnight to conform to your lower spine while supporting your whole back in a neutral position. For larger buyers or those who want a firmer mattress, there are two more options for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight variants.
Many side sleepers will feel totally comfy on the Midnight, however, if you are wanting less pressure while still sticking with a versatile medium firmness, you may decide to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and provides the surface a small bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically need to be mindful of pressure since they sleep with all of their weight on a tinier region. Those who are smaller than average or people looking for lots of pressure relief may want to stay with the plusher models.
Those who sleep on their stomach will feel comfortable in the Midnight, particularly if this isn’t their main position or they tend to change things up a lot. Firmer mattresses may be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so that they can ensure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their spine.
Last, Helix Sleep recommends Helix mattresses for sleepers up to 350 lbs or partners who weigh a maximum of 250 pounds each. In the event you or your spouse are significantly larger than average, the company has also produced a bed called the Nightfall that’s constructed to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 pounds.
Partners with differing body types or tastes can also select a dual comfort model that combines Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if neither of those models seem right, you may always have a look at the four other models in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, a little firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest variant in the line).
Next up, let’s chat about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that’s detectable from one side of the bed to the other. While this will be important for many buyers, those who doze with a partner may find it especially intriguing as it’ll show just how bothered you’ll be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. According to my research, Helix Sleep exceeds expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space because of the quantity and quality of foam it contains, as well as the pocketed coils which help keep motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper concerned that movement from the opposite side of the bed will wake you, you should not have a lot of concern with this mattress. I would say that any of the Helix mattresses would be a good choice for couples.
When purchasing a new mattress, most individuals wish to know whether they will feel as though they are sinking “into” the it or laying “on top” of it.
Even though you are going to experience some immediate sinkage in the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through those layers, you’ll find the individually-wrapped coils and find great support. This combination will appeal to a vast range of individuals, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers the most.
While I do feel the memory foam compress as I sit close to the edge of the Helix Midnight, the individually-wrapped coils stop the mattress from collapsing a lot beyond that. I feel quite secure seated on the mattress.
In my view, Helix mattresses are well above average when it comes to edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is due to their newly updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil unit. There can be a little compression at the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but laying on the side will feel comfy and safe. Couples who want more space to stretch out normally love stronger edges.
Laying down, I feel like I could get near the edge of the mattress without feeling like I’ll fall over or be pushed off the mattress. Overall, I think the Helix mattress has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of purchasing a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they typically come with. Helix is not any different. You create the mattress that is intended for you, place your order, and within two weeks, it’s sent to your home. From the minute you click to purchase the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to check it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it isn’t ideal, you can return it for free of charge, and get a full refund.
If you do return the mattress, it isn’t restocked or resold. Actually, Helix does its best to locate a local place to donate it. When there’s no way the company can find a way to donate your returned mattress, it’s recycled instead. Helix Sleep.Com/Benguest
Helix offers an awesome 10-year warranty that covers flaws, but it has a few limitations, exceptions, plus the burden of proof is on the purchaser (like most guarantees ). Needless to say, you must be the first owner of the Helix to make use of the warranty, and you need to be sure you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty should be valid. That means you will need to have a proper base (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4 inches apart) and you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your mattress starts to show an indentation of 1” or longer, which is what typically happens when low-density foams break down, then you could qualify for a repair or replacement of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no turning, but it is suggested that you rotate the mattress possibly a couple of times a year to prevent it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For routine cleanup, it’s suggested to use cool water along gentle dish soap to clean any dirt or stains. Be sure to wash using gentle circular movements, rather than rubbing.
Final Thoughts Helix Sleep.Com/Benguest
If you are shopping for a mattress and aren’t quite certain what feel that you need, Helix’s Color Match system and quiz might be the key to unlocking your best sleep with minimal hassle. Their awesome system, which is based on expert opinions and AI, was designed to improve their client’s sleep by giving a better match. Helix Sleep.Com/Benguest
The attributes of the Helix were thoughtfully constructed to provide choices whether you were searching for a mattress that stays cool all night, if you wanted one to support your curves with a thick comfort system, or both! The pocketed coil unit should offer great edge support and motion transfer is minimal with their individually-wrapped construction.
