Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses manufactured with polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores fortified with polyfoam base layers. Helix Sleep Ceo
Helix Sleep offers complete mattress customization. Purchasers are asked to complete a questionnaire that asks for their height, weight, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other elements. Then based on these results, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following six mattress variants; each individual variant provides a unique combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep mattresses with targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them optimal for those who sleep on their side. While mattresses with moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are great for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter individuals may feel more comfortable on variants with balanced support, while those that weigh 130 lbs or more tend to prefer the variants with extra support.
Helix Sleep also markets 2 mattresses with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with extra support and moderate cushioning). Both of these models have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, which makes them ideal for couples with differing preferences. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for larger, heavier people. This mattress has an additional layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable selection conforms to sleepers with a wide range of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also provide strong edge support, isolate movement nicely, and create less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Sleep Ceo

Construction Helix Sleep Ceo
All nine of the different iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction should be rather similar. The 6 core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in firmness and density depending upon the foams used in order to achieve more/less firmness and more/less support. The 4 different foams used within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the models have all the foams – some just have 3 of the 4 – but it really won’t matter much for the purchaser. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer nine unique versions (and hopefully have a mattress for everybody). Helix Sleep Ceo
Underneath, I quickly talk about the construction (materials and quality) of your average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses come with exactly the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I found it to be stretchy and thin, allowing for some wonderful breathability. But, if you would like something more amped up, you can opt to swap out the standard cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase change fabric to regulate temperature.
Comfort Layer – On top, you’ll encounter a thick layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow reaction to pressure, which means you are likely to experience some satisfying body contouring. Even though it may seem strange for a purportedly medium firm mattress to feature a memory foam layer, it is crucial to remember that the presence of deep sinkage does not necessarily translate to softness; in fact, oftentimes it generates quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the memory foam comfort layer, you’ll uncover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to curb the sinkage of the memory foam and create a supportive, medium firm feeling as you reach the pocketed coils underneath.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress is made up of this segment of individually wrapped coils. This system gives a supportive lift into the construction, working to place the sleeper “on top” of the bed, instead of “in it”. Because the coils are individually wrapped, they are also likely to allow extra breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last but not least, you will uncover a thin section of high-density poly foam. This layer doesn’t affect the feel of the mattress too much, functioning mostly to provide the pocketed coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After taking a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s discuss their different feels and firmness levels.
The firmness of the Helix will vary widely depending on the version you choose. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have medium firmness levels, which tends to be very versatile and thus best-selling. If you have more specific requirements, however, Helix Sleep would be happy to provide you with additional choices.
Laying down on the Helix Midnight, the uppermost foam comfort layer is soft and generates some quality body shaping, while the rest of the materials within the mattress work to control this and make an overall firmer structure. The firmer support foams and individually-wrapped coils also help with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there is enough good comfort material here to conform to your lower spine while supporting your whole upper spine in a neutral position. For heavier sleepers or people who prefer a firmer mattress, there are two more models for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight models.
Most side sleepers should feel totally comfy on the Midnight, but, if you’re needing a bit less pressure while still sticking with a flexible medium firmness, you may decide to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and provides the surface a little bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically need to be mindful of pressure because they sleep with all their weight on a tinier area. People who are smaller than average or people looking for lots of pressure relief might want to stick to the plusher models.
Stomach sleepers should feel supported in the Midnight, especially if this is not their primary position or they tend to switch things up a lot. Firmer choices may be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so they can ensure their hips do not dip and over-arch their back.
Finally, Helix Sleep suggests Helix for sleepers up to 350 lbs or couples that weigh up to 250 lbs each. If you or your partner are substantially larger than average, Helix has also produced a mattress called the Nightfall that’s made to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 lbs.
Couples with differing types of bodies or preferences can also select a dual comfort variant that combines Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if none of those options seem right, you may always check out the 4 other variants in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, slightly firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest mattress of the bunch).
Now, let’s chat about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that is detectable from 1 side of the mattress to the other. While this is going to be significant for many buyers, those who sleep with a spouse may find it especially intriguing as it’ll illuminate just how bothered you will be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Helix Sleep Ceo
Based on my observation, Helix surpasses expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space due to the quantity and quality of foam it incorporates, in addition to the pocketed coils which help keep motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper worried that movement from the other side of the mattress will bother you, you should not have much concern with this mattress. I’d say that all of the Helix mattresses are a good choice for couples.
When buying a new mattress, the majority of men and women would like to know whether they will feel like they’re sinking “into” the it or lying “on top” of it.
While you may encounter some immediate sinkage in the uppermost foam layers, by the time you sink through these layers, you are going to find the pocketed coils and find great support. This combination will appeal to a vast range of sleepers, but will suit back and stomach sleepers the most.
Though I do feel the memory foam collapse as I sit near the edge of the bed, the coils stop the mattress from compressing too much beyond that. I feel quite secure seated on the mattress.
In my view, Helix mattresses perform above average for edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is due to their recently updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil system. There may be some compression at the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but lying on the side will feel comfortable and safe. Couples who need more space to stretch out normally love strong edges.
Laying down, I also feel like I can get near the edge of the bed without feeling like I will fall over or be ejected from the mattress. Overall, I think the Helix has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of purchasing a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they typically include. Helix Mattress is no different. You create the mattress that is meant for you, place your order, and in two weeks, it is sent to your door. From the moment you click to purchase the mattress, you have 100 nights to try it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it is not ideal, you can return it free of charge, and get a full refund.
Should you return the mattress, it is not restocked or resold. Actually, the company locates a local place to donate it. When there’s no way Helix Sleep can find a way to donate your returned mattress, it’s recycled instead. Helix Sleep Ceo
The Helix Mattress includes an amazing 10-year guarantee that covers flaws, but it has limitations, exceptions, plus the burden of proof is on the customer (like most warranties). Needless to say, you must be the first owner of the mattress to use the guarantee, and you will need to be sure you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you need to use a suitable base (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4 inches apart) and you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on it!
If your mattress starts to show an indentation of 1 inch or longer, which is what typically happens when low-density foams break down, then you could be eligible for a repair or replacement of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no turning, but it is recommended that you rotate the mattress perhaps once or twice a year to keep it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For routine cleaning, it is suggested to use cold water with gentle dish soap to clean any stains or dirt. Be sure to wash using soft circular movements, instead of rubbing.
