Helix Sleep sells hybrid mattresses manufactured using polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores enhanced using polyfoam base layers. Helix Sleep Black Friday
Helix Sleep offers full mattress customization. Purchasers are asked to complete a questionnaire that discusses their height, weight, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other elements. Based on these results, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following 6 mattress models; each individual variant provides a one-of-a-kind combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep mattresses with targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them perfect for those who sleep on their side. While those with moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are great for all sleep positions. Lighter people may feel most comfortable on models with balanced support, while individuals that weigh 130 lbs or more often favor the models with additional support.
Helix Sleep also offers two variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and extra support). Both these mattresses have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, which makes them ideal for couples with differing tastes. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for bigger, heavier people. This mattress has an extra layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable aspect conforms to sleepers with a large assortment of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also offer strong edge support, isolate movement nicely, and create less noise than the average hybrid. Helix Sleep Black Friday

Construction Helix Sleep Black Friday
All nine of the various iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction should be fairly similar. The six core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in firmness and density based upon the foams utilized in order to achieve more/less support and more/less firmness. The four unique foams used within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the mattresses have all of the foams – some just have 3 of the 4 – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the purchaser. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer 9 unique models (and hopefully have a model for everyone). Helix Sleep Black Friday
Underneath, I concisely discuss the construction (materials and quality) of your average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses have exactly the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I found it to be thin and pliable, allowing for some nice breathability. But, if you would like something more lavish, you can elect to swap out the standard cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase change material for heat regulation.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you’ll encounter a heavy layer of memory foam. This material has a slow reaction to pressure, meaning you are likely to experience some gratifying body shaping. Even though it may seem odd for a supposedly medium firm mattress to feature a memory foam layer, it’s crucial to remember that the existence of deep sinkage doesn’t always translate to softness; in fact, most of the time it produces quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After getting past the memory foam comfort layer, you will uncover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to suppress the sinkage of the memory foam and set a supportive, medium firm feel as you reach the pocketed coils below.
Support Layer – The bulk of the mattress consists of this section of individually wrapped coils. This system brings a supportive lift to the structure, working to position the sleeper “on top” of the bed, instead of “in it”. Since the coils are wrapped individually, they are also likely to allow extra breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last, you will find a thin section of high-density poly foam. This segment does not affect the feel of the mattress too much, functioning mostly to provide the pocketed coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After having a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s discuss their different feels and firmness levels.
The firmness of the Helix is going to vary widely depending on the variant you select. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which is going to be very versatile and therefore very popular. If you have more specific preferences, however, Helix Sleep will be happy to provide you with additional options.
Laying down on the Helix Midnight, the uppermost foam comfort layer feels soft and produces some top quality body shaping, while the other materials within the Midnight work to control this and make an overall firmer structure. The firmer support foams and pocketed coils also assist with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there is enough good comfort material here to conform to your lower spine while supporting your upper spine in a neutral position. For larger sleepers or those who want a firmer mattress, there are 2 more options for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn variants.
Many side sleepers will feel totally comfy on the Midnight, but, if you are needing less pressure while still sticking with a versatile medium firmness, you might want to check out the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and provides the surface a small bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically have to be more mindful of pressure because they sleep with all of their weight on a smaller region. People who are lighter than average or those in the market for a lot of pressure relief may want to stay with the plusher models.
Those who sleep on their stomach should feel comfortable in the Midnight, especially if this isn’t their primary position or they tend to switch things up a lot. Firmer choices may be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so they can make sure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their back.
Lastly, Helix Sleep recommends Helix mattresses for sleepers around 350 lbs or partners that weigh up to 250 pounds each. If you or your spouse are substantially larger than average, Helix has also created a mattress called the Nightfall that is built to accommodate a total weight of 1000 lbs.
Couples with differing body types or preferences can also select a dual comfort model that pairs Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if neither of these options feel quite right, you could always have a look at the four other mattresses in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, a little firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest variant in the line).
Now, let us talk about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that is detectable from one side of the mattress to the other. While this will be important for all sleepers, those who sleep with a spouse may find it particularly intriguing as it will illuminate just how bothered you’ll be by your partner’s nighttime movements. According to my research, Helix surpasses expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space because of the quantity and quality of foam it incorporates, as well as the pocketed coils that help keep motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper worried that movement from the opposite side of the bed will wake you, then you shouldn’t have a lot of concern with this mattress. I’d say that all of the Helix mattresses would be a good option for couples.
While getting a new mattress, the majority of people would like to know whether they’ll feel as though they are sinking “into” the it or laying “on top” of it.
While you may encounter a little immediate sinkage in the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through these layers, you are going to reach the pocketed coils and experience great support. This combo will interest a vast assortment of sleepers, but will satisfy stomach and back sleepers in particular.
Though I do feel the foam compress as I sit near the edge of the bed, the pocketed coils prevent the mattress from compressing too much beyond that. I feel very secured seated on the bed.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is because of their freshly updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil unit. There may be some compression in the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but laying on the side will feel comfy and secure. Couples who need more space to stretch out normally love strong edges.
Laying down, I also feel like I could get close to the edge of the bed without feeling like I’ll fall over or be ejected from the bed. Overall, I believe the Helix mattress has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of purchasing a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they usually come with. Helix Sleep is not any different. You create the mattress that’s intended for you, place your order, and within two weeks, it’s delivered to your door. From the moment you click to order the mattress, you have 100 nights to try it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it isn’t ideal, you can return it free, and receive a complete refund.
If you do return the mattress, it is not resold or restocked. In fact, the company finds a local place to donate it. If there is no way the company can find a way to donate your returned mattress, it is recycled instead. Helix Sleep Black Friday
The Helix Mattress includes an amazing 10-year guarantee that covers defects, but it has limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the purchaser (like most warranties). Needless to say, you should be the original owner of the Helix to make use of the guarantee, and you need to be sure you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all of the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty will be valid. That means you need to have a proper base (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4” apart) and you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your mattress begins to show an indentation of 1 inch or longer, something that usually happens when low-density foams break down, then you could be eligible for a repair or replacement of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no turning, but it’s recommended that you rotate the mattress perhaps once or twice a year to keep it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For routine cleanup, it is advised to use cool water along gentle dish soap to clean any dirt or stains. Make certain to wash using gentle circular motions, instead of rubbing.
