Helix Sleep sells hybrid mattresses made with dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores fortified using polyfoam base layers. Helix Sleep Bed Reviews
Helix Sleep offers full mattress customization. Buyers are urged to fill out a survey that discusses their weight, height, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other factors. Based on these results, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following 6 mattress models; each respective option gives a unique combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep mattresses with targeted cushioning conform closely, making them optimal for those who sleep on their side. While hybrids with moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are ideal for all sleep positions. Lighter individuals may feel more comfortable on variants with balanced support, while those that weigh 130 pounds or more tend to favor the variants with extra support.
Helix Sleep also offers two models with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with additional support and moderate cushioning). Both these variants have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, which makes them ideal for couples with different preferences. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for larger, heavier people. This model has an extra layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable selection conforms to sleepers with a wide variety of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also offer strong edge support, isolate movement nicely, and create less noise than the average hybrid. Helix Sleep Bed Reviews

Construction Helix Sleep Bed Reviews
All 9 of the different iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction will be fairly similar. The 6 core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in density and firmness based upon the foams used in order to attain more/less firmness and more/less support. The 4 unique foams utilized within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the beds have all of the foams – some only have 3 of the 4 – but it really won’t matter much for the buyer. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull to be able to offer 9 unique versions (and supposedly have a mattress for everyone). Helix Sleep Bed Reviews
Underneath, I briefly talk about the construction (materials and quality) of your typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses have the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I thought it to be stretchy and thin, allowing for some nice breathability. However, if you want something more amped up, you can choose to swap out the regular cover for the UltraCool one, which is made up of a phase-change fabric to regulate temperature.
Comfort Layer – On top, you’ll encounter a heavy layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow response to pressure, which means you are likely to experience some gratifying body contouring. While it might seem strange for a supposedly medium firmness bed to incorporate a memory foam layer, it’s important to remember that the presence of deep sinkage does not necessarily translate to softness; in fact, oftentimes it generates quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After getting past the comfort layer, you will discover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to suppress the sinkage of the comfort layer and set a supportive, medium firm feeling as you reach the individually wrapped coils underneath.
Support Layer – The bulk of the mattress is made up of this segment of individually wrapped coils. This system brings a supportive lift to the construction, working to put the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, instead of “in it”. Since these coils are wrapped individually, they are also going to give extra breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last, you’ll discover a thin section of high-density poly foam. This section doesn’t really affect the feel of the bed too much, functioning mostly to give the individually wrapped coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After taking a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s talk about their varying feels and firmness levels.
The firmness of the Helix is going to differ widely depending on which variant you select. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which tends to be very versatile and therefore best-selling. If you have more specific needs, however, Helix Sleep is happy to oblige you with additional options.
Lying down on the Helix Midnight, the memory foam comfort layer is soft and generates some quality body contouring, while the other materials within the Midnight work to control this and create an overall firmer structure. The pocketed coils and the firmer support foams also assist with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there’s just enough good comfort material in the Helix Midnight to conform to your lumbar while supporting your upper spine in a neutral position. For heavier buyers or people who prefer a firmer bed, there are two more choices for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn models.
Many side sleepers will feel totally comfy on the Midnight, but, if you’re needing a bit less pressure while still sticking with a flexible medium firmness, you may want to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and gives the surface a small bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically need to be mindful of pressure since they sleep with all of their weight on a tinier area. People who are lighter than average or people looking for a lot of pressure relief may want to stick to the plusher models.
Stomach sleepers will feel comfortable in the Midnight, particularly if this isn’t their main position or they tend to switch things up a lot. Firmer choices may be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so they can ensure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their backbone.
Finally, Helix Sleep recommends Helix for sleepers around 350 lbs or couples who weigh a maximum of 250 pounds each. In the event you or your spouse are substantially larger than average, the company has also created a bed called the Nightfall that is created to accommodate a total weight of 1000 pounds.
Couples with differing types of bodies or tastes may also select a dual comfort variant that pairs Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if neither of these models seem quite right, you could always check out the four other models in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, slightly firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest variant of the bunch).
Now, let us talk about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that is noticeable from one side of the mattress to the other. While this will be crucial for all sleepers, those who sleep with a partner may find it especially intriguing as it’ll show just how bothered you will be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Helix Sleep Bed Reviews
According to my research, Helix Sleep surpasses expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space due to the amount and quality of foam it contains, as well as the pocketed coils that help trap motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper afraid that motion from the opposite side of the bed will bother you, then you should not have much concern with this hybrid. I would say that any of the Helix mattresses are a good choice for couples.
While getting a brand-new mattress, the majority of individuals would like to know whether they will feel as though they’re sinking “into” the it or laying “on top” of it.
Even though you are likely to encounter some immediate sinkage in the uppermost foam layers, by the time you sink through those layers, you will reach the pocketed coils and find fantastic support. This combo will appeal to a vast range of sleepers, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers the most.
Though I do feel the memory foam collapse as I sit close to the edge of the Helix Midnight, the pocketed coils stop the mattress from collapsing too much beyond that. I feel very secure seated on the mattress.
In my view, Helix mattresses are well above average when it comes to edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is because of their freshly updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil unit. There may be some compression in the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but laying on the side will feel comfortable and safe. Couples who need more space to stretch out normally love strong edges.
Lying down, I also feel like I can get close to the edge of the bed without feeling like I will roll off or be ejected from the bed. Overall, I believe the Helix has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of buying a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they typically come with. Helix Mattress is no different. You create the mattress that’s made for you, place your order, and in two weeks, it is sent to your door. From the minute you click to purchase the mattress, you have 100 nights to try it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it isn’t ideal, you can return it free, and receive a full refund.
If you do return the mattress, it isn’t resold or restocked. Actually, the company locates a local place to donate it. If there is no way Helix Sleep can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, it’s recycled instead. Helix Sleep Bed Reviews
Helix Sleep offers an awesome 10-year warranty that covers defects, but it has some limitations, exceptions, and the burden of proof is on the purchaser (like most guarantees ). Of course, you should be the original owner of the mattress to use the guarantee, and you need to be sure that you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all of Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you need to have a suitable base (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4 inches apart) and you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your mattress starts to have an indentation of 1” or more, which is what typically happens when low-density foams break down, you could be eligible for a repair or replacement of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no flipping, but it is suggested that you rotate the mattress possibly once or twice a year to keep it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For routine cleanup, it is suggested to use cool water along gentle dish soap to clean any dirt or stains. Be sure that you clean using soft circular movements, instead of rubbing.
