Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses manufactured with dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores reinforced with polyfoam base layers. Helix Sleep Australia
Helix Sleep gives you full mattress customization. Purchasers are urged to fill out a survey that asks for their height, weight, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other options. Based on these results, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following six mattress variants; each individual variant provides a unique combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep hybrids with targeted cushioning conform closely, making them perfect for those who sleep on their side. While those that have moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are ideal for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter individuals may feel most comfortable on models with balanced support, while individuals who weigh 130 pounds or more tend to favor the variants with additional support.
Helix Sleep also offers two models with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with additional support and moderate cushioning). Both of these variants have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, making them great for couples with different preferences. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for bigger, heavier people. This variant has an additional layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses found that the customizable aspect conforms to sleepers with a large variety of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate movement well, and produce less noise than the average hybrid. Helix Sleep Australia

Construction Helix Sleep Australia
All 9 of the various iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction will be rather similar. The 6 core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in firmness and density based on the foams utilized in order to achieve more/less support and more/less firmness. The 4 different foams utilized within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the models have all of the foams – some just have three of the four – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the buyer. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull to be able to offer nine unique models (and supposedly have a model for everybody). Helix Sleep Australia
Underneath, I quickly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of your average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses come with the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I thought it to be stretchy and thin, allowing for some nice breathability. However, if you would like something more lavish, you can elect to swap out the regular cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase-change material for heat regulation.
Comfort Layer – On top, you’ll find a heavy layer of memory foam. This material has a slow reaction to pressure, which means you are likely to encounter some satisfying body contouring. While it might seem odd for a supposedly medium firm bed to feature a memory foam layer, it’s crucial to remember that the existence of deep sinkage doesn’t necessarily translate to softness; in fact, most of the time it produces quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the comfort layer, you’ll uncover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to suppress the sinkage of the comfort layer and set a supportive, medium firm feel as you hit the individually wrapped coils below.
Support Layer – The bulk of the mattress consists of this section of individually wrapped coils. This system brings a supportive lift into the construction, working to position the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, instead of “in it”. Since the coils are wrapped individually, they’re also likely to give extra breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last, you will discover a thin section of high-density poly foam. This layer does not affect the feel of the mattress too much, working mostly to provide the pocketed coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After taking a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s chat about their different feels and firmness levels.
The firmness of the Helix will differ widely depending on the version you select. The Helix Dusk and Midnight, have medium firmness levels, which will be quite versatile and thus best-selling. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep would be happy to provide you with more options.
Lying down on the Helix Midnight, the memory foam comfort layer feels soft and generates some quality body contouring, while the other materials within the Midnight work to counteract this and create an overall firmer composition. The firmer support foams and pocketed coils also assist with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there’s enough good comfort material in the Midnight to conform to your lumbar while supporting your upper spine in a neutral position. For larger sleepers or those who prefer a firmer bed, there are two more choices for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight models.
Most side sleepers will feel totally comfortable on the Midnight, however, if you’re needing less pressure while still sticking with a flexible medium firmness, you might want to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and provides the surface a small bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically need to be mindful of pressure since they sleep with all of their weight on a smaller region. People who are lighter than average or those in the market for lots of pressure relief may want to stick to the plusher models.
Stomach sleepers should feel supported in the Midnight, particularly if this isn’t their primary position or they tend to switch things up a lot. Firmer choices may be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so they can ensure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their spine.
Last, Helix Sleep suggests Helix mattresses for sleepers around 350 lbs or couples that weigh up to 250 lbs each. In the event you or your spouse are significantly bigger than average, the company has also created a mattress called the Nightfall that’s created to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 lbs.
Partners with different types of bodies or preferences can also pick a dual comfort model that combines Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if neither of those options feel right, you can always have a look at the 4 other mattresses in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, a little firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest option in the line).
Now, let’s chat about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that’s noticeable from one side of the bed to the other. While this is going to be important for many sleepers, those who sleep with a partner may find it especially intriguing as it will illuminate just how bothered you’ll be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Helix Sleep Australia
According to my research, Helix exceeds expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space due to the quantity and quality of foam it contains, in addition to the individually wrapped coils that help keep motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper afraid that motion from the other side of the mattress will bother you, you shouldn’t have much concern with this hybrid. I would say that any of the Helix mattresses would be a good choice for couples.
While buying a new mattress, most people want to know whether they’ll feel like they’re sinking “into” the mattress or lying “on top” of it.
Even though you are going to encounter some immediate sinkage from the soft foam on top, when you sink through these layers, you are going to find the pocketed coils and feel great support. This combo will interest a vast range of sleepers, but will suit back and stomach sleepers the most.
While I do feel the foam compress as I sit close to the edge of the mattress, the pocketed coils stop the mattress from compressing a lot beyond that. I feel quite secured seated on the bed.
In my view, Helix mattresses perform above average for edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is due to their freshly updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil unit. There can be some compression at the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but lying on the side will feel comfortable and secure. Partners who want more space to stretch out typically appreciate strong edges.
Laying down, I also feel like I can get near the edge of the bed without feeling like I’ll roll over or be ejected from the bed. Overall, I believe the Helix mattress has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of purchasing a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they usually come with. Helix Mattress is no different. You customize the mattress that is meant for you, place your order, and within 2 weeks, it’s sent to your door. From the moment you click to purchase the mattress, you have 100 nights to test it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it is not what you wanted, you can return it for free of charge, and get a complete refund.
If you do return the mattress, it is not resold or restocked. In fact, Helix Sleep does its best to find a local place to donate it. If there’s no way Helix can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, it’s recycled instead. Helix Sleep Australia
Helix offers a generous 10-year warranty that covers defects, but it has a few limitations, exceptions, and the burden of proof is on the consumer (like most warranties). Of course, you must be the first owner of the mattress to make use of the guarantee, and you need to be sure you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty will be valid. That means you will need to use a suitable foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4 inches apart) and that you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your mattress begins to have an indentation of 1” or more, which is what generally happens when low-density foams break down, you could be eligible for a repair or replacement of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no turning, but it is recommended that you rotate the mattress perhaps once or twice a year to prevent it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For routine cleanup, it’s advised to use cold water with gentle dish detergent to clean any stains or dirt. Make certain to clean using gentle circular movements, rather than rubbing.
