Helix Sleep markets hybrid mattresses made using polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores enhanced with polyfoam base layers. Helix Payment
Helix Sleep gives you full mattress customization. Buyers are asked to fill out a questionnaire that asks for their height, weight, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other options. Based on these results, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following 6 mattress models; each respective option gives a unique combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep hybrids with targeted cushioning conform closely, making them optimal for side sleepers. While those with moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are suitable for all sleep positions. Lighter men and women may feel more comfortable on variants with balanced support, while those that weigh 130 pounds or more often prefer the variants with extra support.
Helix Sleep also offers two variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with extra support and moderate cushioning). Both of these variants have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, making them ideal for couples with different preferences. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for larger, heavier people. This mattress has an extra layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable aspect accommodates sleepers with a large variety of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also offer strong edge support, isolate movement well, and produce less noise than the average hybrid. Helix Payment

Construction Helix Payment
All nine of the various iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction should be quite similar. The six core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in firmness and density based upon the foams used in order to achieve more/less support and more/less firmness. The four different foams utilized within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the variants have all of the foams – some just have 3 of the 4 – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the consumer. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer nine distinct versions (and hopefully have a model for everybody). Helix Payment
Underneath, I quickly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of your typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses have the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I thought it to be thin and pliable, allowing for some great breathability. But, if you want something more amped up, you can elect to swap out the normal cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase change fabric for temperature regulation.
Comfort Layer – On top, you’ll encounter a heavy layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow response to pressure, meaning you are probably going to experience some satisfying body shaping. Even though it may seem odd for a supposedly medium firm mattress to make use of a memory foam comfort layer, it is important to remember that the feeling of deep sinkage does not always translate to softness; in fact, most of the time it generates quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the memory foam comfort layer, you will find a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to curb the sinkage of the comfort layer and set a supportive, medium firm feeling as you hit the individually wrapped coils underneath.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress is made up of this section of individually wrapped coils. This system gives a supportive lift into the structure, working to place the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, as opposed to “in it”. Because the coils are individually wrapped, they’re also going to give additional breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last but not least, you will uncover a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This section doesn’t really affect the feel of the bed too much, functioning mostly to give the individually wrapped coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After taking a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us discuss their varying firmness levels and feels.
The firmness level of the Helix will differ widely depending on which model you pick out. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which tends to be very versatile and thus best-selling. If you have more specific requirements, however, Helix Sleep will be happy to provide you with more choices.
Lying down on the Midnight, the memory foam layer feels soft and produces some high quality body shaping, while the other materials in the Midnight work to control this and create an overall firmer composition. The individually-wrapped coils and the firmer support foams also help with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there is just enough good comfort material here to conform to your lumbar while supporting your whole back in a neutral position. For larger sleepers or those who want a firmer mattress, there are two more choices for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn models.
Many side sleepers will feel totally comfortable on the Midnight, but, if you are wanting a bit less pressure while still going with a flexible medium firmness, you might want to check out the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and provides the surface a small bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically need to be more mindful of pressure since they sleep with all their weight on a smaller area. People who are smaller than average or those looking for plenty of pressure relief may want to stick to the plusher variants.
Those who sleep on their stomach will feel comfortable in the Midnight, particularly if this isn’t their main position or they have a tendency to switch things up a lot. Firmer choices might be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so they can ensure their hips do not dip and over-arch their back.
Last, the manufacturer suggests Helix mattresses for sleepers around 350 pounds or partners who weigh up to 250 lbs each. In the event you or your spouse are significantly bigger than average, the company has also created a bed called the Nightfall that’s created to accommodate a total weight of 1000 lbs.
Couples with differing types of bodies or tastes can also select a dual comfort option that combines Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if neither of these options sound quite right, you can always have a look at the 4 other models in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, slightly firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest mattress of the bunch).
Next up, let us chat about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that is noticeable from one side of the mattress to the other. While this will be crucial for many sleepers, those who sleep with a spouse may find it especially intriguing as it will show just how bothered you may be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Based on my observation, Helix surpasses expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space due to the quantity and quality of foam it contains, in addition to the pocketed coils that help keep motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper afraid that motion from the other side of the mattress will wake you, you should not have much concern with this mattress. I would say that all of the Helix mattresses would be a good option for couples.
When purchasing a brand-new mattress, the majority of men and women wish to know whether they’ll feel like they are sinking “into” the mattress or lying “on top” of it.
While you are likely to encounter a little immediate sinkage from the soft foam at the top, by the time you sink through those layers, you’ll reach the pocketed coils and experience fantastic support. This combination will appeal to a wide assortment of individuals, but will suit back and stomach sleepers in particular.
While I do feel the foam collapse as I sit near the edge of the Helix Midnight, the coils stop the mattress from collapsing too much beyond that. I feel quite secure sitting on the mattress.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses perform above average for edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is because of their recently updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil unit. There can be a little compression at the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but laying on the side should feel comfy and safe. Partners who want more space to stretch out normally love strong edges.
Lying down, I feel like I could get near the edge of the mattress without feeling like I’ll fall over or be pushed off the mattress. Overall, I believe that the Helix has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of buying a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they usually include. Helix Sleep is no different. You create the mattress that is intended for you, place your order, and in 2 weeks, it’s sent to your home. From the moment you click to purchase the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to try it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it isn’t perfect, you can return it free, and receive a full refund.
If you do return the mattress, it is not resold or restocked. Actually, Helix finds a local place to donate it. If there’s no way Helix Sleep can find a way to donate your returned mattress, it is recycled instead. Helix Payment
Helix offers a generous 10-year warranty that covers defects, but it has limitations, exceptions, and the burden of proof is on the customer (like most warranties). Needless to say, you should be the first owner of the mattress to use the guarantee, and you need to be sure that you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty will be valid. That means you will need to use a suitable base (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4 inches apart) and you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on it!
If your Helix begins to have an indentation of 1 inch or more, which is what typically happens when low-density foams break down, you could be eligible for a replacement or repair of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no turning, but it is recommended that you rotate the mattress perhaps a couple of times a year to keep it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For regular cleanup, it is suggested to use cool water along gentle dish detergent to clean any dirt or stains. Be certain to wash using soft circular motions, instead of rubbing.
