Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses made with dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores fortified with polyfoam base layers. Helix Office
Helix Sleep offers complete mattress customization. Purchasers are requested to complete a survey that discusses their height, weight, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other factors. Based on these answers, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following 6 mattress models; each respective variant provides a one-of-a-kind combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep hybrids that have targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them optimal for side sleepers. While those with moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are ideal for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter people may feel more comfortable on variants with balanced support, while individuals that weigh 130 pounds or more often prefer the models with additional support.
Helix Sleep also markets 2 variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with additional support and moderate cushioning). Both of these variants have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, making them great for couples with differing preferences. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for larger, heavier people. This mattress has an extra layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable selection conforms to sleepers with a large variety of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate movement well, and produce less noise than the average hybrid. Helix Office

Construction Helix Office
All nine of the various iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction will be quite similar. The 6 core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in density and firmness based on the foams utilized in order to get more/less firmness and more/less support. The four different foams used within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the mattresses have all of the foams – some only have three of the four – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the purchaser. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull to be able to offer 9 unique mattresses (and hopefully have a mattress for everyone). Helix Office
Below, I quickly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of your average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses have exactly the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I thought it to be stretchy and thin, allowing for some wonderful breathability. But, if you would like something more amped up, you can choose to swap out the standard cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase change material to regulate heat.
Comfort Layer – On top, you will encounter a heavy layer of memory foam. This material has a slow reaction to pressure, which means you are probably going to experience some gratifying body contouring. While it might seem strange for a supposedly medium firmness bed to feature a memory foam layer, it is crucial to remember that the existence of deep sinkage does not necessarily translate to softness; in fact, most of the time it gives quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After getting past the memory foam comfort layer, you’ll uncover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to suppress the sinkage of the memory foam and create a supportive, medium firm feel as you reach the individually wrapped coils underneath.
Support Layer – The majority of the mattress is made up of this segment of pocketed coils. This system brings a supportive lift to the construction, working to position the sleeper “on top” of the bed, as opposed to “in it”. Since the coils are wrapped individually, they are also likely to encourage additional breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Lastly, you will discover a thin section of high-density poly foam. This section does not really affect the feel of the bed too much, working mostly to give the individually wrapped coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After taking a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s chat about their different firmness levels and feels.
The firmness of the Helix is going to differ widely depending on the model you select. The Helix Dusk and Midnight, have moderate firmness levels, which tends to be quite versatile and therefore best-selling. If you have more specific preferences, however, Helix Sleep will be happy to provide you with more choices.
Lying down on the Helix Midnight, the uppermost foam layer is soft and generates some high quality body contouring, while the rest of the materials in the Midnight work to control this and create an overall firmer structure. The firmer support foams and individually-wrapped coils also assist with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there is just enough good comfort material in the mattress to conform to your lumbar while supporting your upper spine in a neutral position. For larger sleepers or people who prefer a firmer mattress, there are 2 more models for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn variants.
Many side sleepers will feel perfectly comfortable on the Midnight, but, if you’re needing less pressure while still sticking with a versatile medium firmness, you may decide to check out the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and provides the surface a little bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically need to be more mindful of pressure because they sleep with all of their weight on a smaller area. People who are lighter than average or those in the market for plenty of pressure relief might want to stay with the plusher variants.
Those who sleep on their stomach should feel supported in the Midnight, especially if this is not their primary position or they have a tendency to change things up a lot. Firmer choices may be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so they can ensure their hips do not dip and over-arch their backbone.
Last, the manufacturer suggests Helix for sleepers around 350 lbs or couples that weigh a maximum of 250 lbs each. If you or your spouse are substantially larger than average, Helix has also produced a bed called the Nightfall that’s constructed to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 pounds.
Couples with differing body types or preferences may also select a dual comfort model that combines Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if neither of these models sound right, you can always have a look at the 4 other models in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, slightly firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest mattress of the bunch).
Now, let us talk about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that is noticeable from 1 side of the bed to the other. While this is going to be important for all people, those who sleep with a partner may find it especially intriguing as it’ll illuminate just how bothered you may be by your partner’s nighttime movements. Helix Office
According to my research, Helix Sleep surpasses expectations for hybrids in this space because of the quantity and quality of foam it contains, as well as the individually wrapped coils which help trap motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper concerned that movement from the opposite side of the mattress will bother you, then you should not have much concern with this hybrid. I would say that all of the Helix mattresses would be a good choice for couples.
When purchasing a brand-new mattress, the majority of individuals would like to know whether they’ll feel like they’re sinking “into” the mattress or lying “on top” of it.
While you’re going to encounter a little immediate sinkage from the uppermost foam layers, when you sink through these layers, you will hit the individually-wrapped coils and find amazing support. This combination will interest a wide range of individuals, but will satisfy stomach and back sleepers the most.
While I do feel the foam compress as I sit close to the edge of the Helix Midnight, the coils prevent the mattress from collapsing too much . I feel quite secured sitting on the bed.
In my view, Helix mattresses are well above average for edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is due to their recently updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil unit. There may be some compression in the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but lying on the side should feel comfortable and safe. Couples who need more space to stretch out normally love stronger edges.
Lying down, I feel like I could get near the edge of the bed without feeling like I will roll over or be pushed off the mattress. Overall, I think the Helix mattress has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of buying a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they typically include. Helix Sleep is no different. You customize the mattress that’s meant for you, place your order, and within two weeks, it’s delivered to your home. From the moment you click to purchase the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to test it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it isn’t what you wanted, you can return it for free of charge, and receive a complete refund.
Should you return the mattress, it is not resold or restocked. Actually, Helix Sleep locates a local place to donate it. If there is no way the company can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, it’s recycled instead. Helix Office
The Helix Mattress includes an awesome 10-year guarantee that covers flaws, but it has limitations, exceptions, plus the burden of proof is on the purchaser (like most warranties). Of course, you should be the first owner of the mattress to make use of the warranty, and you will need to be sure that you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all of Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you will need to use a suitable foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4” apart) and you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your mattress begins to show an indentation of 1” or more, which is what usually happens when low-density foams break down, then you could qualify for a repair or replacement of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no turning, but it’s suggested that you rotate the mattress possibly once or twice a year to prevent it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For regular cleaning, it’s suggested to use cold water along gentle dish soap to clean any stains or dirt. Be sure to clean using soft circular motions, rather than rubbing.
