Helix Sleep markets hybrid mattresses made with dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores reinforced using polyfoam base layers. Helix Mattress Where To Buy
Helix Sleep offers complete mattress customization. Buyers are asked to complete a survey that asks for their height, weight, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other options. Then based on these answers, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following 6 mattress options; each individual variant gives a unique combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep mattresses with targeted cushioning conform closely, making them optimal for those who sleep on their side. While hybrids with moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are suitable for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter people may feel most comfortable on variants with balanced support, while individuals that weigh 130 lbs or more often favor the models with extra support.
Helix Sleep also offers two variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with additional support and moderate cushioning). Both of these models have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, which makes them suitable for couples with different tastes. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for bigger, heavier individuals. This variant has an additional layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses found that the customizable selection conforms to sleepers with a wide range of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate motion transfer well, and produce less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Mattress Where To Buy

Construction Helix Mattress Where To Buy
All nine of the different iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction should be quite similar. The 6 core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in density and firmness depending upon the foams utilized in order to attain more/less support and more/less firmness. The four unique foams used within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the mattresses have all the foams – some only have three of the four – but it really won’t matter much for the buyer. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull to be able to offer 9 unique models (and supposedly have a mattress for everyone). Helix Mattress Where To Buy
Below, I quickly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of your typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses come with exactly the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I found it to be thin and stretchy, allowing for some great breathability. However, if you prefer something more lavish, you can opt to swap out the standard cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase-change fabric for heat regulation.
Comfort Layer – On top, you’ll find a thick layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow response to pressure, which means you are probably going to encounter some great body shaping. While it might seem odd for a supposedly medium firmness mattress to make use of a memory foam layer, it is important to remember that the feeling of deep sinkage does not necessarily translate to softness; in actuality, oftentimes it produces quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After getting past the memory foam comfort layer, you’ll find a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to curb the sinkage of the memory foam and set a supportive, medium firm feeling as you reach the individually wrapped coils underneath.
Support Layer – The majority of the mattress is made up of this section of individually wrapped coils. This system gives a supportive lift to the construction, working to place the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, instead of “in it”. Since the coils are wrapped individually, they’re also likely to give additional breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last but not least, you’ll find a thin section of high-density poly foam. This segment doesn’t really affect the feel of the mattress too much, functioning mostly to give the pocketed coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After taking a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us chat about their different firmness levels and feels.
The firmness of the Helix will differ widely depending on the version you pick out. The Helix Dusk and Midnight, have medium firmness levels, which is going to be quite versatile and thus best-selling. If you have more specific needs, however, Helix Sleep will be happy to oblige you with more choices.
Lying down on the Helix Midnight, the memory foam layer feels soft and generates some high quality body shaping, while the rest of the materials in the Midnight work to counteract this and make an overall firmer structure. The firmer support foams and individually-wrapped coils also help with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there’s just enough good comfort material in the mattress to conform to your lumbar while supporting your upper spine in a neutral position. For larger sleepers or people who prefer a firmer bed, there are 2 more options for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn variants.
Many side sleepers will feel perfectly comfy on the Midnight, however, if you’re needing less pressure while still going with a versatile medium firmness, you may want to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and provides the surface a small bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically need to be mindful of pressure since they sleep with all of their weight on a smaller region. Those who are lighter than average or people in the market for a lot of pressure relief might want to stay with the plusher models.
Those who sleep on their stomach should feel supported in the Midnight, particularly if this isn’t their main position or they have a tendency to change things up a lot. Firmer choices might be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so they can make sure their hips do not dip and over-arch their spine.
Last, Helix Sleep suggests Helix for sleepers around 350 lbs or couples that weigh up to 250 lbs each. If you or your spouse are substantially bigger than average, the company has also produced a mattress called the Nightfall that’s made to accommodate a total weight of 1000 pounds.
Couples with different types of bodies or tastes may also pick a dual comfort variant that combines Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if neither of those models sound right, you can always have a look at the four other mattresses in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, slightly firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest mattress of the bunch).
Now, let’s talk about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that’s noticeable from one side of the mattress to the other. While this will be crucial for all people, those who sleep with a partner may find it especially interesting as it’ll illuminate just how bothered you’ll be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Helix Mattress Where To Buy
Based on my observation, Helix surpasses expectations for hybrids in this space because of the amount and quality of foam it incorporates, as well as the individually wrapped coils that help trap motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper concerned that movement from the opposite side of the bed will wake you, then you shouldn’t have a lot of concern with this hybrid. I’d say that all of the Helix mattresses would be a good option for couples.
While buying a new mattress, most individuals wish to know whether they’ll feel like they’re sinking “into” the it or laying “on top” of it.
Even though you are going to experience a little immediate sinkage from the soft foam at the top, when you sink through those layers, you will hit the pocketed coils and feel amazing support. This combination will interest a wide range of sleepers, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers the most.
Though I do feel the memory foam collapse as I sit close to the edge of the Helix Midnight, the pocketed coils prevent the mattress from collapsing a lot beyond that. I feel very secured seated on the mattress.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is due to their freshly updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil system. There may be some compression at the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but laying on the side will feel comfy and secure. Couples who want more space to stretch out typically appreciate strong edges.
Lying down, I also feel like I could get near the edge of the bed without feeling like I’ll fall off or be pushed off the bed. Overall, I believe the Helix mattress has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of buying a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they usually include. Helix is not any different. You customize the mattress that is intended for you, place your order, and in 2 weeks, it’s delivered to your door. From the minute you click to purchase the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to test it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it is not perfect, you can return it free of charge, and get a complete refund.
Should you return the mattress, it isn’t resold or restocked. Actually, the company finds a local place to donate it. When there’s no way the company can find a way to donate your returned mattress, it’s recycled instead. Helix Mattress Where To Buy
Helix offers an amazing 10-year warranty that covers flaws, but it comes with a few limitations, exceptions, and the burden of proof is on the consumer (like most guarantees ). Needless to say, you must be the original owner of the mattress to make use of the warranty, and you will need to be sure that you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all of Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you will need to have a proper foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4” apart) and you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your mattress starts to have an indentation of 1 inch or more, which is what usually happens when low-density foams break down, then you could qualify for a replacement or repair of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no flipping, but it is suggested that you rotate the mattress perhaps once or twice a year to prevent it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For regular cleaning, it’s advised to use cool water along gentle dish detergent to clean any dirt or stains. Make sure that you clean using soft circular movements, rather than rubbing.
