Helix Sleep sells hybrid mattresses manufactured using dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores reinforced with polyfoam base layers. Helix Mattress Weight
Helix Sleep allows complete mattress customization. Purchasers are asked to fill out a questionnaire that discusses their height, weight, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other elements. Based on these results, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following 6 mattress options; each respective model provides a one-of-a-kind combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep mattresses that have targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them ideal for those who sleep on their side. While mattresses with moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are ideal for all sleep positions. Lighter men and women may feel most comfortable on models with balanced support, while individuals who weigh 130 lbs or more tend to favor the variants with additional support.
Helix Sleep also offers two models with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and additional support). Both these variants have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, which makes them suitable for couples with differing tastes. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for bigger, heavier individuals. This model has an extra layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable aspect conforms to sleepers with a large variety of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also offer strong edge support, isolate motion transfer nicely, and create less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Mattress Weight

Construction Helix Mattress Weight
All nine of the various iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction should be quite similar. The 6 core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in density and firmness depending on the foams used in order to achieve more/less support and more/less firmness. The 4 different foams utilized within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the mattresses have all the foams – some just have three of the four – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the consumer. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull to be able to offer 9 distinct versions (and supposedly have a mattress for everybody). Helix Mattress Weight
Below, I concisely discuss the construction (materials and quality) of the typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses come with exactly the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I found it to be pliable and thin, allowing for some nice breathability. But, if you would like something more lavish, you can elect to swap out the standard cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase-change material to regulate heat.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you’ll discover a heavy layer of memory foam. This material has a slow reaction to pressure, which means you’re likely to experience some great body shaping. While it might seem odd for a purportedly medium firm bed to make use of a memory foam layer, it is important to remember that the feeling of deep sinkage does not always translate to softness; in fact, most of the time it produces quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After getting past the comfort layer, you’ll discover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to curb the sinkage of the comfort layer and establish a supportive, medium firm feeling as you hit the individually wrapped coils below.
Support Layer – The bulk of the mattress consists of this section of individually wrapped coils. This system gives a supportive lift to the structure, working to position the sleeper “on top” of the bed, as opposed to “in it”. Because the coils are wrapped individually, they are also likely to give additional breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last, you will discover a thin section of high-density poly foam. This section does not really affect the feel of the bed too much, functioning mostly to give the individually wrapped coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After having a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us talk about their different feels and firmness levels.
The firmness of the Helix is going to differ widely depending on which version you select. The Helix Dusk and Midnight, have medium firmness levels, which is going to be quite versatile and thus exceptionally popular. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep is happy to oblige you with additional choices.
Lying down on the Helix Midnight, the uppermost foam comfort layer feels soft and generates some quality body contouring, while the rest of the materials within the Midnight work to control this and create an overall firmer structure. The firmer support foams and individually-wrapped coils also assist with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there is just enough good comfort material here to conform to your lumbar while supporting your upper spine in a neutral position. For larger buyers or people who prefer a firmer mattress, there are two more models for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn models.
Most side sleepers should feel totally comfortable on the Midnight, however, if you’re wanting less pressure while still sticking with a flexible medium firmness, you may want to check out the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and provides the surface a small bit of bounce.
Side sleepers typically need to be mindful of pressure since they sleep with all their weight on a smaller region. Those who are smaller than average or people in the market for plenty of pressure relief may want to stick to the plusher models.
Those who sleep on their stomach will feel supported in the Midnight, particularly if this is not their primary position or they tend to switch things up a lot. Firmer choices may be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so that they can make sure their hips do not dip and over-arch their spine.
Lastly, Helix Sleep recommends Helix for sleepers up to 350 lbs or partners who weigh up to 250 lbs each. In the event you or your spouse are substantially bigger than average, Helix has also produced a bed called the Nightfall that is created to accommodate a total weight of 1000 lbs.
Couples with different body types or preferences can also pick a dual comfort variant that combines Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if neither of those models feel right, you can always check out the 4 other mattresses in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, a little firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest option in the line).
Now, let us talk about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that’s detectable from one side of the mattress to the other. While this is going to be important for all sleepers, those who sleep with a partner may find it particularly intriguing as it’ll illuminate just how bothered you’ll be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Helix Mattress Weight
Based on my observation, Helix Sleep exceeds expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space because of the amount and quality of foam it contains, as well as the individually wrapped coils that help keep motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper worried that movement from the other side of the mattress will bother you, you should not have a lot of concern with this hybrid. I would say that all of the Helix mattresses would be a good choice for couples.
When buying a brand-new mattress, most men and women would like to know whether they will feel as though they are sinking “into” the it or lying “on top” of it.
While you are likely to encounter a little immediate sinkage from the uppermost foam layers, when you sink through these layers, you are going to reach the individually-wrapped coils and find great support. This combo will interest a wide range of sleepers, but will suit stomach and back sleepers the most.
While I do feel the foam compress as I sit close to the edge of the mattress, the pocketed coils stop the mattress from compressing a lot . I feel quite secure seated on the bed.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is because of their newly updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil unit. There can be some compression at the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but laying on the side should feel comfortable and safe. Couples who want more space to stretch out normally love stronger edges.
Lying down, I feel like I could get close to the edge of the bed without feeling like I’ll fall over or be ejected from the bed. Overall, I think that the Helix mattress has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of buying a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they usually come with. Helix is not any different. You customize the mattress that is intended for you, place your order, and in two weeks, it’s delivered to your door. From the minute you click to order the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to test it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it isn’t what you wanted, you can return it for free, and get a full refund.
Should you return the mattress, it isn’t restocked or resold. In fact, the company locates a local place to donate it. When there’s no way the company can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, it is recycled instead. Helix Mattress Weight
Helix offers a generous 10-year guarantee that covers flaws, but it comes with a few limitations, exceptions, plus the burden of proof is on the consumer (like most warranties). Needless to say, you should be the original owner of the Helix to make use of the guarantee, and you need to be sure that you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you will need to use a proper foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4” apart) and you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on it!
If your mattress begins to have an indentation of 1” or more, something that typically happens when low-density foams break down, then you could qualify for a repair or replacement of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no turning, but it’s suggested that you rotate the mattress perhaps once or twice a year to prevent it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For routine cleaning, it is suggested to use cool water along gentle dish soap to clean any dirt or stains. Make certain to clean using soft circular movements, rather than rubbing.
