Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses made using dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores fortified using polyfoam base layers. Helix Mattress Toronto
Helix Sleep allows full mattress customization. Customers are requested to fill out a survey that asks for their height, weight, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other options. Then based on these results, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following six mattress variants; each respective model provides a unique combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep mattresses with targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them optimal for those who sleep on their side. While hybrids that have moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are great for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter people may feel most comfortable on models with balanced support, while individuals that weigh 130 lbs or more often prefer the variants with additional support.
Helix Sleep also offers two variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with additional support and moderate cushioning). Both these variants have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, which makes them ideal for couples with different tastes. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for bigger, heavier people. This mattress has an additional layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable aspect conforms to sleepers with a wide variety of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate motion transfer nicely, and create less noise than the average hybrid. Helix Mattress Toronto

Construction Helix Mattress Toronto
All nine of the different iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction should be quite similar. The six core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in firmness and density based on the foams used in order to attain more/less support and more/less firmness. The four different foams utilized within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the mattresses have all of the foams – some only have 3 of the 4 – but it really won’t matter much for the buyer. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer nine unique mattresses (and hopefully have a model for everyone). Helix Mattress Toronto
Underneath, I quickly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of the average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses have exactly the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I thought it to be stretchy and thin, allowing for some wonderful breathability. But, if you want something more lavish, you can opt to swap out the normal cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase change material for temperature regulation.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you’ll encounter a thick layer of memory foam. This material has a slow response to pressure, which means you are likely to encounter some gratifying body contouring. Even though it may seem strange for a supposedly medium firmness bed to feature a memory foam comfort layer, it’s important to remember that the existence of deep sinkage does not necessarily translate to softness; in actuality, most of the time it gives quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the comfort layer, you’ll find a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to curb the sinkage of the memory foam and create a supportive, medium firm feel as you hit the individually wrapped coils below.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress is made up of this section of individually wrapped coils. This system brings a supportive lift into the structure, working to position the sleeper “on top” of the bed, as opposed to “in it”. Because the coils are wrapped individually, they are also likely to give additional breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Lastly, you’ll discover a thin section of high-density poly foam. This layer does not really affect the feel of the bed too much, functioning mostly to give the individually wrapped coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After having a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s talk about their varying feels and firmness levels.
The firmness of the Helix will differ widely depending on the model you choose. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have medium firmness levels, which will be very versatile and therefore very popular. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep will be happy to oblige you with more choices.
Laying down on the Helix Midnight, the memory foam layer feels soft and produces some top quality body contouring, while the other materials in the mattress work to control this and make an overall firmer composition. The firmer support foams and individually-wrapped coils also help with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there’s enough good comfort material in the mattress to conform to your lumbar while supporting your whole back in a neutral position. For heavier buyers or those who want a firmer mattress, there are two more models for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight variants.
Many side sleepers should feel totally comfy on the Midnight, but, if you’re needing less pressure while still sticking with a flexible medium firmness, you might decide to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and gives the surface a small bit of bounce.
Side sleepers typically need to be more mindful of pressure because they sleep with all their weight on a tinier region. People who are smaller than average or people in the market for plenty of pressure relief may want to stay with the plusher models.
Those who sleep on their stomach should feel supported in the Midnight, particularly if this is not their main position or they tend to change things up a lot. Firmer mattresses may be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so they can ensure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their back.
Finally, Helix Sleep recommends Helix for sleepers up to 350 lbs or partners who weigh a maximum of 250 pounds each. In the event you or your partner are substantially bigger than average, Helix has also produced a bed called the Nightfall that’s built to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 lbs.
Partners with differing types of bodies or preferences may also select a dual comfort model that combines Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if neither of these options sound quite right, you may always have a look at the four other beds in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, slightly firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest mattress of the bunch).
Now, let us talk about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that is detectable from one side of the bed to the other. While this is going to be important for many people, those who doze with a partner may find it particularly interesting as it’ll show just how bothered you will be by your partner’s nighttime movements. According to my research, Helix exceeds expectations for hybrids in this space due to the amount and quality of foam it contains, in addition to the individually wrapped coils that help keep motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper afraid that motion from the other side of the bed will bother you, then you shouldn’t have a lot of concern with this hybrid. I’d say that all of the Helix mattresses are a good option for couples.
While buying a brand-new mattress, most people want to know whether they’ll feel as though they are sinking “into” the it or lying “on top” of it.
Even though you may encounter a little immediate sinkage from the uppermost foam layers, when you sink through those layers, you’ll hit the pocketed coils and experience amazing support. This combo will interest a vast range of individuals, but will satisfy stomach and back sleepers in particular.
Though I do feel the memory foam collapse as I sit close to the edge of the Helix Midnight, the individually-wrapped coils stop the mattress from compressing too much beyond that. I feel quite secured sitting on the bed.
In my view, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is because of their freshly updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil system. There can be a little compression at the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but lying on the side will feel comfortable and safe. Partners who need more space to stretch out normally love stronger edges.
Lying down, I also feel like I can get near the edge of the bed without feeling like I’ll fall off or be pushed off the bed. Overall, I think the Helix has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of buying a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they usually include. Helix Sleep is not any different. You create the mattress that’s intended for you, place your order, and in a couple of weeks, it’s sent to your home. From the minute you click to order the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to check it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it is not ideal, you can return it for free, and receive a full refund.
If you do return the mattress, it isn’t restocked or resold. Actually, Helix Sleep locates a local place to donate it. When there’s no way Helix can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, it’s recycled instead. Helix Mattress Toronto
Helix Sleep offers an awesome 10-year warranty that covers defects, but it has a few limitations, exceptions, plus the burden of proof is on the customer (like most guarantees ). Needless to say, you should be the original owner of the Helix to make use of the guarantee, and you need to be sure you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all of Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty should be valid. That means you need to use a suitable foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4” apart) and you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on it!
If your mattress starts to have an indentation of 1 inch or longer, something that usually happens when low-density foams break down, then you could be eligible for a replacement or repair of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no flipping, but it’s suggested that you rotate the mattress possibly once or twice a year to keep it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For regular cleaning, it’s suggested to use cold water along gentle dish soap to clean any stains or dirt. Make sure to clean using gentle circular movements, instead of rubbing.
