Helix Sleep markets hybrid mattresses manufactured with dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores reinforced using polyfoam base layers. Helix Mattress Stock
Helix Sleep gives you complete mattress customization. Buyers are asked to fill out a questionnaire that asks for their height, weight, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other options. Then based on these answers, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following 6 mattress variants; each respective option provides a one-of-a-kind combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep hybrids that have targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them perfect for those who sleep on their side. While those that have moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are ideal for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter people may feel more comfortable on variants with balanced support, while individuals who weigh 130 lbs or more tend to favor the variants with extra support.
Helix Sleep also offers 2 mattresses with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with additional support and moderate cushioning). Both of these models have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, making them great for couples with different tastes. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for larger, heavier individuals. This variant has an extra layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses found that the customizable selection accommodates sleepers with a large range of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate movement nicely, and create less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Mattress Stock

Construction Helix Mattress Stock
All nine of the different iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction should be rather similar. The six core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in density and firmness based on the foams utilized in order to attain more/less firmness and more/less support. The four different foams utilized within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the mattresses have all the foams – some just have three of the four – but it really won’t matter much for the consumer. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer nine different versions (and supposedly have a mattress for everybody). Helix Mattress Stock
Below, I quickly talk about the construction (materials and quality) of the average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses have exactly the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I thought it to be thin and stretchy, allowing for some wonderful breathability. But, if you prefer something more amped up, you can elect to swap out the normal cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase change material to regulate temperature.
Comfort Layer – On top, you will discover a thick layer of memory foam. This material has a slow response to pressure, meaning you are probably going to experience some satisfying body contouring. While it might seem odd for a supposedly medium firm bed to feature a memory foam comfort layer, it is crucial to remember that the feeling of deep sinkage doesn’t necessarily translate to softness; in actuality, oftentimes it generates quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the comfort layer, you’ll find a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to curb the sinkage of the memory foam and establish a supportive, medium firm feel as you reach the pocketed coils below.
Support Layer – The majority of the mattress consists of this segment of individually wrapped coils. This system brings a supportive lift into the structure, working to place the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, as opposed to “in it”. Because the coils are individually wrapped, they’re also likely to give extra breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last but not least, you’ll uncover a thin section of high-density poly foam. This layer doesn’t affect the feel of the bed too much, functioning mostly to give the pocketed coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After having a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us talk about their different feels and firmness levels.
The firmness level of the Helix will vary widely depending on the variant you pick out. The Helix Dusk and Midnight, have moderate firmness levels, which will be quite versatile and therefore exceptionally popular. If you have more specific preferences, however, Helix Sleep will be happy to oblige you with additional options.
Lying down on the Helix Midnight, the uppermost foam comfort layer feels soft and generates some quality body shaping, while the rest of the materials within the mattress work to counteract this and make an overall firmer composition. The firmer support foams and individually-wrapped coils also help with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there is enough good comfort material here to conform to your lower spine while supporting your upper spine in a neutral position. For larger buyers or people who want a firmer mattress, there are two more options for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn variants.
Most side sleepers should feel totally comfy on the Midnight, but, if you’re wanting a bit less pressure while still sticking with a versatile medium firmness, you might decide to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and gives the surface a small bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically have to be more mindful of pressure since they sleep with all their weight on a tinier region. Those who are lighter than average or people looking for a lot of pressure relief may want to stick to the plusher models.
Stomach sleepers will feel comfortable in the Midnight, especially if this isn’t their main position or they have a tendency to switch things up a lot. Firmer choices might be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so they can ensure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their spine.
Last, the manufacturer suggests Helix for sleepers around 350 pounds or couples who weigh a maximum of 250 pounds each. In the event you or your spouse are significantly bigger than average, the company has also created a bed called the Nightfall that is made to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 lbs.
Couples with differing types of bodies or tastes can also pick a dual comfort model that pairs Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if none of these models sound right, you may always have a look at the four other variants in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, slightly firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest option of the bunch).
Next up, let’s talk about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that is detectable from 1 side of the bed to the other. While this will be crucial for many people, those who doze with a spouse may find it particularly interesting as it will show just how bothered you may be by your partner’s nighttime movements. Based on my observation, Helix Sleep exceeds expectations for hybrids in this space due to the quantity and quality of foam it contains, as well as the pocketed coils that help trap motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper afraid that motion from the opposite side of the bed will bother you, you should not have much concern with this hybrid. I’d say that all of the Helix mattresses would be a good option for couples.
When buying a new mattress, the majority of people would like to know whether they will feel as though they are sinking “into” the mattress or laying “on top” of it.
While you may encounter some immediate sinkage in the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through these layers, you are going to hit the individually-wrapped coils and feel great support. This combo will appeal to a wide range of individuals, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers the most.
While I do feel the memory foam collapse as I sit near the edge of the mattress, the pocketed coils prevent the mattress from collapsing a lot beyond that. I feel quite secured sitting on the bed.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses are well above average for edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is because of their recently updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil system. There may be some compression in the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but lying on the side will feel comfy and secure. Partners who want more space to stretch out typically appreciate stronger edges.
Lying down, I feel like I can get close to the edge of the mattress without feeling like I will fall off or be pushed off the mattress. Overall, I think that the Helix mattress has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of purchasing a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they usually include. Helix Sleep is no different. You customize the mattress that’s intended for you, place your order, and in a couple of weeks, it’s delivered to your door. From the minute you click to order the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to test it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it is not ideal, you can return it free, and get a complete refund.
Should you return the mattress, it isn’t resold or restocked. Actually, Helix Sleep locates a local place to donate it. When there is no way Helix Sleep can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, it’s recycled instead. Helix Mattress Stock
Helix offers an amazing 10-year warranty that covers flaws, but it comes with limitations, exceptions, and the burden of proof is on the consumer (like most guarantees ). Needless to say, you should be the original owner of the Helix to make use of the warranty, and you need to be sure that you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you will need to use a proper base (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4” apart) and that you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on it!
If your Helix starts to have an indentation of 1 inch or longer, something that generally happens when low-density foams break down, you could be eligible for a replacement or repair of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no flipping, but it is recommended that you rotate the mattress perhaps once or twice a year to prevent it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For regular cleaning, it is advised to use cold water along gentle dish soap to clean any dirt or stains. Be sure to wash using gentle circular motions, rather than rubbing.
