Helix Sleep markets hybrid mattresses manufactured with dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores reinforced using polyfoam base layers. Helix Mattress Reviews Oceano
Helix Sleep gives you full mattress customization. Buyers are requested to complete a questionnaire that discusses their weight, height, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other factors. Based on these answers, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following six mattress variants; each individual option offers a one-of-a-kind combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep hybrids that have targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them ideal for side sleepers. While those that have moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are suitable for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter people may feel more comfortable on variants with balanced support, while those that weigh 130 pounds or more tend to prefer the variants with additional support.
Helix Sleep also offers 2 variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and extra support). Both these models have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, making them suitable for couples with different preferences. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for larger, heavier individuals. This model has an extra layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable selection conforms to sleepers with a wide variety of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also provide strong edge support, isolate motion transfer well, and create less noise than the average hybrid. Helix Mattress Reviews Oceano

Construction Helix Mattress Reviews Oceano
All 9 of the various iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction should be quite similar. The six core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in firmness and density based upon the foams used in order to achieve more/less firmness and more/less support. The four unique foams used within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the models have all of the foams – some only have three of the four – but it really won’t matter much for the consumer. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer nine distinct models (and hopefully have a model for everyone). Helix Mattress Reviews Oceano
Underneath, I briefly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of your typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses come with exactly the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I thought it to be thin and stretchy, allowing for some great breathability. However, if you want something more luxurious, you can elect to swap out the regular cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is made up of a phase-change material to regulate heat.
Comfort Layer – On top, you’ll encounter a thick layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow reaction to pressure, meaning you’re probably going to experience some gratifying body contouring. While it might seem strange for a purportedly medium firm mattress to incorporate a memory foam comfort layer, it is crucial to remember that the existence of deep sinkage doesn’t necessarily translate to softness; in fact, most of the time it gives quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After getting past the comfort layer, you’ll discover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to suppress the sinkage of the comfort layer and create a supportive, medium firm feel as you hit the pocketed coils below.
Support Layer – The bulk of the mattress consists of this section of individually wrapped coils. This system gives a supportive lift into the structure, working to position the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, as opposed to “in it”. Because these coils are wrapped individually, they are also going to give additional breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last but not least, you will discover a thin section of high-density poly foam. This layer doesn’t really affect the feel of the mattress too much, functioning mostly to give the pocketed coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After taking a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us talk about their varying firmness levels and feels.
The firmness of the Helix is going to vary widely depending on which version you choose. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which is going to be quite versatile and therefore very popular. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep would be happy to provide you with additional options.
Lying down on the Helix Midnight, the uppermost foam comfort layer is soft and generates some high quality body contouring, while the other materials in the Midnight work to control this and make an overall firmer composition. The individually-wrapped coils and the firmer support foams also help with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there’s enough good comfort material here to conform to your lumbar while supporting your whole upper spine in a neutral position. For larger sleepers or those who want a firmer mattress, there are two more options for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn variants.
Majority of side sleepers should feel perfectly comfortable on the Midnight, however, if you are needing a bit less pressure while still sticking with a versatile medium firmness, you may decide to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and provides the surface a small bit of bounce.
Side sleepers typically need to be mindful of pressure because they sleep with all of their weight on a smaller region. Those who are lighter than average or people looking for plenty of pressure relief may want to stay with the plusher variants.
Stomach sleepers should feel supported in the Midnight, particularly if this isn’t their primary position or they have a tendency to switch things up a lot. Firmer mattresses may be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so that they can make sure their hips do not dip and over-arch their backbone.
Last, Helix Sleep suggests Helix for sleepers up to 350 lbs or couples who weigh up to 250 lbs each. If you or your spouse are significantly bigger than average, Helix has also produced a mattress called the Nightfall that is built to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 pounds.
Partners with different body types or tastes can also select a dual comfort model that pairs Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if none of these options seem right, you may always check out the 4 other variants in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, slightly firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest mattress of the bunch).
Now, let’s chat about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that’s noticeable from one side of the mattress to the other. While this will be significant for many people, those who doze with a partner may find it especially intriguing as it’ll illuminate just how bothered you will be by your partner’s nighttime movements. Based on my observation, Helix Sleep exceeds expectations for hybrids in this space because of the amount and quality of foam it incorporates, in addition to the pocketed coils that help trap motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper worried that motion from the other side of the mattress will bother you, then you shouldn’t have a lot of concern with this hybrid. I’d say that any of the Helix mattresses would be a good option for couples.
When buying a new mattress, the majority of men and women wish to know whether they will feel as though they are sinking “into” the it or laying “on top” of it.
Even though you’re likely to encounter some immediate sinkage in the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through those layers, you will reach the individually-wrapped coils and feel fantastic support. This combination will interest a vast assortment of individuals, but will suit stomach and back sleepers in particular.
While I do feel the memory foam collapse as I sit close to the edge of the Helix Midnight, the individually-wrapped coils stop the mattress from collapsing a lot . I feel quite secured seated on the mattress.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is due to their recently updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil system. There can be some compression at the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but lying on the side will feel comfy and secure. Couples who need more space to stretch out normally love strong edges.
Lying down, I feel like I could get close to the edge of the bed without feeling like I’ll fall off or be ejected from the bed. Overall, I think the Helix mattress has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of purchasing a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they typically include. Helix is no different. You create the mattress that is made for you, place your order, and within two weeks, it is sent to your door. From the moment you click to buy the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to test it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it is not what you wanted, you can return it for free, and receive a full refund.
If you do return the mattress, it isn’t restocked or resold. Actually, Helix does its best to find a local place to donate it. When there’s no way Helix can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, they have it recycled instead. Helix Mattress Reviews Oceano
The Helix Mattress includes a generous 10-year guarantee that covers flaws, but it has a few limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the purchaser (like most warranties). Of course, you must be the original owner of the mattress to make use of the guarantee, and you need to be sure you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all of the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty will be valid. That means you will need to have a suitable base (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4” apart) and that you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on it!
If your Helix begins to show an indentation of 1” or more, something that generally happens when low-density foams break down, you could be eligible for a replacement or repair of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no turning, but it’s recommended that you rotate the mattress perhaps a couple of times a year to prevent it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For routine cleaning, it’s advised to use cool water along gentle dish detergent to clean any dirt or stains. Make certain that you wash using soft circular motions, instead of rubbing.
