Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses made using polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores reinforced with polyfoam base layers. Helix Mattress Phone
Helix Sleep offers complete mattress customization. Buyers are asked to fill out a questionnaire that asks for their height, weight, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other factors. Then based on these results, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following 6 mattress variants; each respective model gives a unique combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep hybrids with targeted cushioning conform closely, making them ideal for those who sleep on their side. While mattresses that have moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are great for all sleep positions. Lighter individuals may feel more comfortable on variants with balanced support, while those that weigh 130 pounds or more often prefer the variants with extra support.
Helix Sleep also offers 2 models with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with additional support and moderate cushioning). Both these mattresses have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, making them ideal for couples with differing preferences. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for bigger, heavier individuals. This model has an extra layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses found that the customizable aspect conforms to sleepers with a large range of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate motion transfer well, and create less noise than the average hybrid. Helix Mattress Phone

Construction Helix Mattress Phone
All nine of the different iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction should be rather similar. The 6 core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in density and firmness based upon the foams used in order to attain more/less support and more/less firmness. The four different foams used within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the beds have all of the foams – some just have three of the four – but it really won’t matter much for the purchaser. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer 9 unique models (and supposedly have a mattress for everybody). Helix Mattress Phone
Below, I quickly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of the typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses come with exactly the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I found it to be stretchy and thin, allowing for some great breathability. But, if you would like something more luxurious, you can choose to swap out the standard cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase change fabric for temperature regulation.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you will encounter a thick layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow reaction to pressure, which means you are likely to encounter some satisfying body shaping. While it might seem odd for a supposedly medium firmness bed to make use of a memory foam comfort layer, it is important to remember that the existence of deep sinkage doesn’t always translate to softness; in fact, most of the time it produces quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After getting past the comfort layer, you’ll find a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to suppress the sinkage of the memory foam and create a supportive, medium firm feeling as you reach the pocketed coils below.
Support Layer – The majority of the mattress is made up of this section of individually wrapped coils. This system brings a supportive lift into the construction, working to place the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, instead of “in it”. Because the coils are wrapped individually, they’re also likely to allow extra breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Lastly, you will uncover a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This section doesn’t really affect the feel of the bed too much, functioning mostly to give the pocketed coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After having a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us chat about their varying firmness levels and feels.
The firmness of the Helix is going to differ widely depending on which model you select. The Helix Dusk and Midnight, have medium firmness levels, which tends to be very versatile and thus best-selling. If you have more specific preferences, however, Helix Sleep will be happy to provide you with additional options.
Laying down on the Helix Midnight, the memory foam comfort layer is soft and produces some top quality body shaping, while the other materials within the Midnight work to counteract this and create an overall firmer structure. The firmer support foams and individually-wrapped coils also assist with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there is enough good comfort material here to conform to your lower spine while supporting your whole upper spine in a neutral position. For heavier sleepers or people who want a firmer mattress, there are 2 more models for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn models.
Majority of side sleepers should feel perfectly comfortable on the Midnight, but, if you are needing less pressure while still going with a versatile medium firmness, you may decide to check out the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and provides the surface a small bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically have to be mindful of pressure because they sleep with most their weight on a smaller region. People who are lighter than average or people looking for a lot of pressure relief might want to stay with the plusher models.
Those who sleep on their stomach should feel supported in the Midnight, particularly if this isn’t their primary position or they have a tendency to switch things up a lot. Firmer mattresses might be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so they can make sure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their spine.
Finally, the manufacturer recommends Helix mattresses for sleepers around 350 pounds or couples who weigh a maximum of 250 lbs each. In the event you or your spouse are significantly larger than average, Helix has also produced a mattress called the Nightfall that’s constructed to accommodate a total weight of 1000 lbs.
Partners with different body types or tastes can also pick a dual comfort variant that combines Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if neither of these options feel quite right, you could always check out the 4 other models in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, slightly firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest option of the bunch).
Now, let us talk about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that’s detectable from one side of the mattress to the other. While this is going to be important for many sleepers, those who doze with a partner may find it especially intriguing as it’ll illuminate just how bothered you will be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Based on my observation, Helix Sleep surpasses expectations for hybrids in this space due to the quantity and quality of foam it incorporates, as well as the individually wrapped coils that help trap motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper worried that motion from the opposite side of the mattress will bother you, then you shouldn’t have much concern with this hybrid. I’d say that any of the Helix mattresses would be a good option for couples.
While getting a new mattress, most people would like to know whether they will feel as though they are sinking “into” the mattress or laying “on top” of it.
While you may encounter some immediate sinkage from the soft foam at the top, when you sink through these layers, you will find the individually-wrapped coils and feel amazing support. This combination will interest a vast assortment of individuals, but will suit stomach and back sleepers the most.
Though I do feel the memory foam collapse as I sit near the edge of the bed, the coils stop the mattress from compressing a lot . I feel quite secure seated on the mattress.
In my view, Helix mattresses are well above average when it comes to edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is due to their newly updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil system. There may be a little compression in the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but lying on the side should feel comfy and safe. Couples who need more space to stretch out normally love strong edges.
Lying down, I feel like I can get near the edge of the mattress without feeling like I will roll off or be ejected from the mattress. Overall, I think the Helix mattress has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of buying a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they typically come with. Helix Sleep is no different. You customize the mattress that is intended for you, place your order, and within 2 weeks, it is sent to your door. From the moment you click to order the mattress, you have 100 nights to check it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it isn’t what you wanted, you can return it free of charge, and receive a complete refund.
If you do return the mattress, it is not restocked or resold. In fact, the company does its best to locate a local place to donate it. When there is no way Helix Sleep can find a way to donate your returned mattress, they have it recycled instead. Helix Mattress Phone
Helix offers an awesome 10-year warranty that covers defects, but it comes with some limitations, exceptions, plus the burden of proof is on the customer (like most guarantees ). Of course, you should be the first owner of the Helix to make use of the guarantee, and you will need to be sure that you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty will be valid. That means you will need to have a proper base (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4” apart) and that you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your Helix starts to show an indentation of 1” or longer, which is what typically happens when low-density foams break down, you could qualify for a replacement or repair of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no turning, but it is suggested that you rotate the mattress possibly a couple of times a year to keep it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For routine cleanup, it is suggested to use cool water along gentle dish detergent to clean any stains or dirt. Be certain to clean using gentle circular motions, rather than rubbing.
