Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses manufactured using polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores enhanced using polyfoam base layers. Helix Mattress Nectar
Helix Sleep gives you full mattress customization. Buyers are urged to complete a questionnaire that discusses their height, weight, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other options. Then based on these results, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following six mattress models; each respective model offers a one-of-a-kind combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep hybrids that have targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them optimal for side sleepers. While hybrids with moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are ideal for all sleep positions. Lighter people may feel most comfy on variants with balanced support, while individuals that weigh 130 lbs or more often prefer the models with extra support.
Helix Sleep also markets 2 variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with extra support and moderate cushioning). Both these mattresses have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, making them suitable for couples with differing preferences. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for larger, heavier individuals. This variant has an extra layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable aspect conforms to sleepers with a large range of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also provide strong edge support, isolate movement well, and create less noise than the average hybrid. Helix Mattress Nectar

Construction Helix Mattress Nectar
All nine of the different iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction will be rather similar. The 6 core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in firmness and density based upon the foams utilized in order to achieve more/less support and more/less firmness. The four different foams used within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the models have all of the foams – some only have three of the four – but it really won’t matter much for the consumer. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull to be able to offer 9 different variants (and supposedly have a mattress for everybody). Helix Mattress Nectar
Below, I briefly talk about the construction (materials and quality) of the typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses come with the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I thought it to be stretchy and thin, allowing for some nice breathability. But, if you would like something more luxurious, you can opt to swap out the regular cover for the UltraCool one, which is made up of a phase-change fabric for heat regulation.
Comfort Layer – On top, you’ll encounter a thick layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow response to pressure, which means you’re likely to experience some great body shaping. While it might seem odd for a supposedly medium firmness bed to incorporate a memory foam comfort layer, it’s crucial to remember that the existence of deep sinkage doesn’t necessarily translate to softness; in actuality, most of the time it gives quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After getting past the memory foam comfort layer, you’ll uncover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to suppress the sinkage of the comfort layer and set a supportive, medium firm feel as you reach the pocketed coils below.
Support Layer – The bulk of the mattress is made up of this segment of pocketed coils. This system gives a supportive lift to the construction, working to position the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, as opposed to “in it”. Since these coils are wrapped individually, they’re also going to allow additional breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last, you’ll uncover a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This layer does not affect the feel of the bed too much, working mostly to provide the pocketed coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After taking a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s talk about their varying feels and firmness levels.
The firmness of the Helix is going to differ widely depending on which variant you choose. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have medium firmness levels, which is going to be quite versatile and thus exceptionally popular. If you have more specific requirements, however, Helix Sleep is happy to provide you with more options.
Lying down on the Midnight, the uppermost foam comfort layer feels soft and produces some quality body shaping, while the rest of the materials in the mattress work to counteract this and make an overall firmer structure. The firmer support foams and individually-wrapped coils also assist with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there is enough good comfort material in the Midnight to conform to your lumbar while supporting your whole upper spine in a neutral position. For heavier buyers or those who prefer a firmer mattress, there are two more models for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn models.
Majority of side sleepers will feel totally comfy on the Midnight, but, if you’re needing less pressure while still sticking with a flexible medium firmness, you might want to check out the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and provides the surface a small bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically have to be mindful of pressure since they sleep with most their weight on a tinier area. Those who are smaller than average or people in the market for lots of pressure relief might want to stay with the plusher models.
Stomach sleepers will feel comfortable in the Midnight, particularly if this is not their primary position or they tend to change things up a lot. Firmer choices may be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so that they can ensure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their back.
Lastly, the manufacturer recommends Helix for sleepers around 350 pounds or partners that weigh a maximum of 250 pounds each. If you or your partner are substantially larger than average, the company has also produced a mattress called the Nightfall that’s constructed to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 pounds.
Couples with different body types or preferences may also pick a dual comfort variant that combines Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if neither of those options seem right, you may always have a look at the 4 other beds in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, slightly firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest variant in the collection).
Next up, let’s talk about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that is noticeable from one side of the mattress to the other. While this will be crucial for many people, those who doze with a partner may find it especially interesting as it’ll show just how bothered you’ll be by your partner’s nighttime movements. Helix Mattress Nectar
According to my research, Helix surpasses expectations for hybrids in this space because of the amount and quality of foam it contains, as well as the pocketed coils which help trap motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper afraid that motion from the other side of the bed will bother you, then you should not have much concern with this hybrid. I’d say that all of the Helix mattresses are a good option for couples.
When buying a brand-new mattress, most men and women wish to know whether they’ll feel like they are sinking “into” the it or laying “on top” of it.
Even though you may experience some immediate sinkage in the soft foam at the top, when you sink through these layers, you will hit the pocketed coils and feel amazing support. This combo will interest a vast range of individuals, but will suit stomach and back sleepers in particular.
Though I do feel the foam collapse as I sit near the edge of the mattress, the individually-wrapped coils stop the mattress from compressing a lot . I feel very secured sitting on the bed.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is because of their newly updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil system. There can be a little compression at the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but lying on the side should feel comfy and safe. Couples who need more space to stretch out normally love strong edges.
Laying down, I feel like I can get near the edge of the bed without feeling like I’ll fall over or be pushed off the bed. Overall, I think the Helix mattress has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of purchasing a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they typically come with. Helix is not any different. You customize the mattress that’s intended for you, place your order, and in 2 weeks, it is sent to your home. From the minute you click to order the mattress, you have 100 nights to check it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it isn’t perfect, you can return it for free of charge, and receive a complete refund.
Should you return the mattress, it isn’t restocked or resold. In fact, Helix Sleep locates a local place to donate it. When there is no way the company can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, they have it recycled instead. Helix Mattress Nectar
Helix offers a generous 10-year warranty that covers defects, but it comes with some limitations, exceptions, and the burden of proof is on the consumer (like most warranties). Needless to say, you must be the first owner of the mattress to make use of the warranty, and you need to be sure that you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you will need to use a suitable foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4” apart) and you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your mattress begins to have an indentation of 1 inch or longer, which is what usually happens when low-density foams break down, then you could be eligible for a replacement or repair of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no turning, but it is recommended that you rotate the mattress perhaps a couple of times a year to keep it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For regular cleanup, it’s advised to use cool water with gentle dish detergent to clean any dirt or stains. Be certain that you wash using soft circular movements, rather than rubbing.
