Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses made using polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores reinforced using polyfoam base layers. Helix Mattress Latex
Helix Sleep gives you full mattress customization. Customers are requested to complete a questionnaire that asks for their height, weight, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other elements. Based on these results, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following 6 mattress options; each respective variant gives a one-of-a-kind combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep hybrids that have targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them ideal for those who sleep on their side. While mattresses with moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are suitable for all sleep positions. Lighter individuals may feel most comfy on variants with balanced support, while individuals who weigh 130 pounds or more tend to prefer the variants with additional support.
Helix Sleep also offers 2 variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and extra support). Both of these mattresses have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, which makes them ideal for couples with differing tastes. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for larger, heavier individuals. This variant has an additional layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses found that the customizable selection accommodates sleepers with a large variety of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate movement nicely, and create less noise than the average hybrid. Helix Mattress Latex

Construction Helix Mattress Latex
All nine of the various iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction should be fairly similar. The six core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in density and firmness based upon the foams utilized in order to get more/less support and more/less firmness. The 4 different foams used within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the variants have all the foams – some only have three of the four – but it really won’t matter much for the purchaser. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull to be able to offer nine unique mattresses (and supposedly have a model for everyone). Helix Mattress Latex
Underneath, I concisely discuss the construction (materials and quality) of your average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses come with exactly the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I found it to be stretchy and thin, allowing for some wonderful breathability. But, if you would like something more amped up, you can choose to swap out the regular cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase change material to regulate temperature.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you will find a heavy layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow response to pressure, which means you’re likely to encounter some gratifying body contouring. Even though it may seem odd for a supposedly medium firmness mattress to feature a memory foam layer, it is crucial to remember that the presence of deep sinkage does not always translate to softness; in fact, most of the time it generates quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the memory foam comfort layer, you’ll uncover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to suppress the sinkage of the memory foam and set a supportive, medium firm feeling as you reach the individually wrapped coils below.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress is made up of this section of pocketed coils. This system gives a supportive lift to the construction, working to place the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, as opposed to “in it”. Since the coils are individually wrapped, they’re also likely to allow additional breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last but not least, you will find a thin section of high-density poly foam. This segment doesn’t affect the feel of the bed too much, functioning mostly to give the pocketed coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After taking a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s discuss their varying feels and firmness levels.
The firmness of the Helix will vary widely depending on the model you pick out. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which will be very versatile and thus very popular. If you have more specific needs, however, Helix Sleep is happy to oblige you with more options.
Laying down on the Helix Midnight, the uppermost foam comfort layer feels soft and generates some quality body shaping, while the other materials within the mattress work to control this and make an overall firmer composition. The pocketed coils and the firmer support foams also assist with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there’s enough good comfort material in the mattress to conform to your lower spine while supporting your whole upper spine in a neutral position. For larger sleepers or people who want a firmer mattress, there are two more choices for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn models.
Majority of side sleepers will feel totally comfortable on the Midnight, but, if you’re wanting a bit less pressure while still sticking with a flexible medium firmness, you might want to check out the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and gives the surface a small bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically have to be more mindful of pressure because they sleep with all their weight on a tinier region. Those who are smaller than average or those in the market for lots of pressure relief might want to stay with the plusher variants.
Stomach sleepers will feel supported in the Midnight, particularly if this isn’t their main position or they have a tendency to change things up a lot. Firmer choices might be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so they can make sure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their backbone.
Lastly, Helix Sleep recommends Helix mattresses for sleepers around 350 pounds or couples that weigh a maximum of 250 lbs each. In the event you or your spouse are significantly larger than average, Helix has also created a bed called the Nightfall that is made to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 lbs.
Couples with differing types of bodies or tastes can also select a dual comfort model that pairs Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if none of these models feel quite right, you can always check out the four other beds in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, slightly firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest option of the bunch).
Next up, let’s talk about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that is noticeable from one side of the bed to the other. While this is going to be important for many buyers, those who doze with a spouse may find it particularly intriguing as it’ll show just how bothered you will be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. According to my research, Helix surpasses expectations for hybrids in this space because of the quantity and quality of foam it incorporates, as well as the pocketed coils which help keep motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper afraid that motion from the other side of the mattress will wake you, you shouldn’t have a lot of concern with this hybrid. I would say that all of the Helix mattresses are a good option for couples.
While purchasing a brand-new mattress, most men and women would like to know whether they will feel like they are sinking “into” the it or lying “on top” of it.
While you’re likely to encounter a little immediate sinkage in the soft foam at the top, when you sink through those layers, you’ll find the pocketed coils and experience amazing support. This combination will interest a vast assortment of individuals, but will suit stomach and back sleepers the most.
Though I do feel the memory foam compress as I sit near the edge of the Helix Midnight, the coils stop the mattress from compressing too much . I feel quite secured sitting on the mattress.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is due to their recently updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil unit. There may be some compression at the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but lying on the side will feel comfortable and safe. Partners who want more space to stretch out typically appreciate stronger edges.
Laying down, I also feel like I can get near the edge of the bed without feeling like I’ll fall over or be pushed off the mattress. Overall, I think that the Helix has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of purchasing a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they usually include. Helix Mattress is not any different. You customize the mattress that’s made for you, place your order, and within two weeks, it is delivered to your home. From the minute you click to purchase the mattress, you have 100 nights to check it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it is not what you wanted, you can return it for free, and get a complete refund.
Should you return the mattress, it isn’t resold or restocked. Actually, Helix Sleep finds a local place to donate it. If there is no way Helix Sleep can find a way to donate your returned mattress, it is recycled instead. Helix Mattress Latex
The Helix Mattress includes an awesome 10-year guarantee that covers flaws, but it has some limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the consumer (like most warranties). Of course, you should be the original owner of the Helix to use the warranty, and you will need to be sure that you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all of the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you will need to have a suitable base (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4 inches apart) and that you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your mattress starts to have an indentation of 1 inch or longer, something that generally happens when low-density foams break down, you could qualify for a repair or replacement of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no flipping, but it’s recommended that you rotate the mattress perhaps a couple of times a year to prevent it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For regular cleanup, it is suggested to use cool water with gentle dish soap to clean any dirt or stains. Be sure that you wash using gentle circular motions, rather than rubbing.
