Helix Sleep markets hybrid mattresses manufactured with polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores reinforced using polyfoam base layers. Helix Mattress Funding
Helix Sleep allows complete mattress customization. Buyers are urged to complete a questionnaire that asks for their weight, height, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other elements. Based on these results, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following six mattress options; each respective model provides a unique combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep hybrids that have targeted cushioning conform closely, making them ideal for side sleepers. While hybrids that have moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are suitable for all sleep positions. Lighter individuals may feel more comfy on variants with balanced support, while individuals who weigh 130 pounds or more tend to favor the models with extra support.
Helix Sleep also offers two variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with additional support and moderate cushioning). Both these mattresses have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, making them suitable for couples with differing preferences. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for bigger, heavier individuals. This variant has an extra layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable aspect accommodates sleepers with a large range of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also provide strong edge support, isolate movement nicely, and create less noise than the average hybrid. Helix Mattress Funding

Construction Helix Mattress Funding
All 9 of the various iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction will be quite similar. The six core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in firmness and density depending on the foams used in order to attain more/less support and more/less firmness. The 4 unique foams utilized within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the variants have all of the foams – some just have three of the four – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the consumer. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer nine different versions (and hopefully have a mattress for everyone). Helix Mattress Funding
Below, I briefly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of the average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses come with exactly the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I found it to be stretchy and thin, allowing for some wonderful breathability. But, if you want something more luxurious, you can elect to swap out the normal cover for the UltraCool one, which is made up of a phase change material for heat regulation.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you’ll find a heavy layer of memory foam. This material has a slow response to pressure, which means you are probably going to encounter some gratifying body contouring. While it might seem odd for a purportedly medium firm mattress to feature a memory foam layer, it’s important to remember that the feeling of deep sinkage does not necessarily translate to softness; in actuality, most of the time it produces quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the comfort layer, you will uncover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to suppress the sinkage of the memory foam and set a supportive, medium firm feeling as you hit the individually wrapped coils underneath.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress consists of this segment of individually wrapped coils. This system gives a supportive lift to the structure, working to position the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, instead of “in it”. Because the coils are individually wrapped, they are also likely to give additional breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Lastly, you will uncover a thin section of high-density poly foam. This segment does not affect the feel of the mattress too much, working mostly to give the pocketed coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After having a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us talk about their different feels and firmness levels.
The firmness of the Helix is going to differ widely depending on which model you select. The Helix Dusk and Midnight, have medium firmness levels, which tends to be quite versatile and thus exceptionally popular. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep is happy to oblige you with more choices.
Lying down on the Midnight, the memory foam layer is soft and generates some quality body shaping, while the other materials in the Midnight work to control this and create an overall firmer composition. The pocketed coils and the firmer support foams also help with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there is enough good comfort material in the mattress to conform to your lower spine while supporting your whole back in a neutral position. For heavier sleepers or those who want a firmer bed, there are two more choices for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn variants.
Many side sleepers will feel perfectly comfy on the Midnight, however, if you are wanting less pressure while still going with a versatile medium firmness, you may decide to check out the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and provides the surface a small bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically have to be mindful of pressure because they sleep with all their weight on a smaller region. Those who are lighter than average or people in the market for a lot of pressure relief may want to stay with the plusher models.
Stomach sleepers should feel comfortable in the Midnight, especially if this isn’t their main position or they have a tendency to switch things up a lot. Firmer mattresses might be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so that they can ensure their hips do not dip and over-arch their spine.
Last, Helix Sleep suggests Helix for sleepers up to 350 pounds or partners that weigh up to 250 pounds each. In the event you or your spouse are substantially bigger than average, Helix has also created a bed called the Nightfall that’s constructed to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 pounds.
Partners with different body types or preferences may also select a dual comfort model that combines Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if neither of those options seem quite right, you could always check out the 4 other mattresses in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, slightly firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest variant of the bunch).
Now, let us chat about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that is detectable from one side of the mattress to the other. While this is going to be crucial for many sleepers, those who sleep with a partner may find it especially intriguing as it’ll show just how bothered you will be by your partner’s nighttime movements. According to my research, Helix exceeds expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space because of the quantity and quality of foam it contains, as well as the individually wrapped coils which help trap motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper afraid that motion from the other side of the mattress will bother you, you should not have much concern with this mattress. I’d say that all of the Helix mattresses are a good option for couples.
While purchasing a brand-new mattress, the majority of men and women want to know whether they’ll feel as though they’re sinking “into” the mattress or lying “on top” of it.
While you are going to experience a little immediate sinkage from the soft foam at the top, by the time you sink through those layers, you are going to hit the pocketed coils and find amazing support. This combination will interest a vast range of sleepers, but will suit back and stomach sleepers in particular.
While I do feel the memory foam collapse as I sit close to the edge of the mattress, the individually-wrapped coils stop the mattress from collapsing a lot beyond that. I feel quite secure sitting on the bed.
In my view, Helix mattresses are well above average for edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is because of their newly updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil system. There may be some compression in the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but laying on the side will feel comfy and safe. Partners who want more space to stretch out typically appreciate strong edges.
Lying down, I feel like I can get close to the edge of the mattress without feeling like I will fall over or be pushed off the mattress. Overall, I think the Helix mattress has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of purchasing a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they usually come with. Helix Mattress is not any different. You customize the mattress that’s intended for you, place your order, and in 2 weeks, it is sent to your door. From the minute you click to buy the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to test it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it is not perfect, you can return it free of charge, and receive a complete refund.
Should you return the mattress, it isn’t restocked or resold. Actually, the company locates a local place to donate it. When there is no way Helix can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, it is recycled instead. Helix Mattress Funding
Helix Sleep offers an amazing 10-year warranty that covers flaws, but it comes with some limitations, exceptions, and the burden of proof is on the consumer (like most guarantees ). Of course, you should be the first owner of the mattress to use the warranty, and you will need to be sure that you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty should be valid. That means you need to have a proper base (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4 inches apart) and that you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on it!
If your Helix begins to show an indentation of 1” or longer, something that typically happens when low-density foams break down, then you could qualify for a repair or replacement of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no flipping, but it’s recommended that you rotate the mattress possibly once or twice a year to prevent it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For regular cleanup, it’s suggested to use cold water along gentle dish soap to clean any dirt or stains. Be sure to clean using gentle circular movements, rather than rubbing.
