Helix Sleep markets hybrid mattresses made using dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores fortified with polyfoam base layers. Helix Mattress Customer Service Number

Helix Sleep gives you full mattress customization. Customers are urged to complete a questionnaire that discusses their weight, height, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other elements. Then based on these answers, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following 6 mattress models; each individual variant gives a one-of-a-kind combination of support and firmness:

  • Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
  • Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
  • Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
  • Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
  • Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
  • Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support

Helix Sleep mattresses that have targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them ideal for those who sleep on their side. While those with moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are ideal for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter individuals may feel most comfy on models with balanced support, while those who weigh 130 lbs or more tend to favor the models with extra support.

Helix Sleep also markets two models with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and additional support). Both of these models have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, making them great for couples with different preferences. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for larger, heavier individuals. This mattress has an additional layer of memory foam for optimum support.

My review of Helix Sleep mattresses found that the customizable selection conforms to sleepers with a large assortment of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also provide strong edge support, isolate movement nicely, and create less noise than the average hybrid. Helix Mattress Customer Service Number

Construction Helix Mattress Customer Service Number

All nine of the different iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction should be quite similar. The six core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.

Helix mattresses vary in density and firmness depending upon the foams utilized in order to achieve more/less support and more/less firmness. The four different foams utilized within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the variants have all the foams – some just have three of the four – but it really won’t matter much for the purchaser. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull to be able to offer nine different models (and supposedly have a model for everybody). Helix Mattress Customer Service Number

Underneath, I quickly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of the average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.

helix-midnight-construction

Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses come with exactly the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I found it to be stretchy and thin, allowing for some wonderful breathability. However, if you prefer something more lavish, you can elect to swap out the normal cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase-change fabric for heat regulation.

Comfort Layer – On top, you will find a thick layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow response to pressure, which means you are likely to encounter some gratifying body shaping. Even though it may seem strange for a purportedly medium firm mattress to feature a memory foam layer, it is important to remember that the existence of deep sinkage does not always translate to softness; in actuality, oftentimes it generates quite a firm feeling.

Transition Layer – After getting past the comfort layer, you’ll uncover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to suppress the sinkage of the comfort layer and set a supportive, medium firm feel as you hit the individually wrapped coils underneath.

Support Layer – Most of the mattress is made up of this section of individually wrapped coils. This system brings a supportive lift into the construction, working to put the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, as opposed to “in it”. Since these coils are wrapped individually, they’re also going to allow extra breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.

Base Layer – Last, you’ll discover a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This segment does not really affect the feel of the mattress too much, working mostly to give the pocketed coils something off of which to react.

Firmness and Support

After taking a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us chat about their different firmness levels and feels.

helix-mattress-firmness-and-support-scale

The firmness of the Helix will vary widely depending on which version you select. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which tends to be quite versatile and therefore very popular. If you have more specific preferences, however, Helix Sleep is happy to provide you with additional options.

Lying down on the Helix Midnight, the memory foam layer is soft and produces some quality body shaping, while the other materials within the mattress work to counteract this and make an overall firmer structure. The firmer support foams and individually-wrapped coils also help with re-positioning.

For those who sleep on their back, there is just enough good comfort material here to conform to your lower spine while supporting your whole upper spine in a neutral position. For larger buyers or people who want a firmer bed, there are two more options for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn models.

Most side sleepers will feel perfectly comfy on the Midnight, but, if you are wanting less pressure while still going with a versatile medium firmness, you might want to check out the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and provides the surface a small bit of bounce.

Side sleepers typically need to be mindful of pressure since they sleep with most their weight on a smaller area. Those who are lighter than average or those in the market for plenty of pressure relief may want to stay with the plusher models.

Those who sleep on their stomach should feel comfortable in the Midnight, particularly if this isn’t their main position or they have a tendency to change things up a lot. Firmer mattresses might be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so that they can ensure their hips do not dip and over-arch their back.

Last, Helix Sleep recommends Helix for sleepers around 350 pounds or couples who weigh a maximum of 250 lbs each. In the event you or your spouse are significantly larger than average, the company has also produced a bed called the Nightfall that is constructed to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 pounds.

Partners with different body types or tastes can also select a dual comfort model that pairs Firm with Plush.

Bear in mind that if neither of those options seem quite right, you could always check out the four other beds in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, slightly firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest mattress of the bunch).

Motion Transfer

Now, let us chat about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that is detectable from one side of the bed to the other. While this is going to be important for many people, those who doze with a spouse may find it particularly intriguing as it will show just how bothered you will be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Helix Mattress Customer Service Number

Based on my observation, Helix Sleep surpasses expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space due to the quantity and quality of foam it incorporates, in addition to the pocketed coils that help keep motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper concerned that motion from the other side of the bed will wake you, then you should not have much concern with this hybrid. I would say that all of the Helix mattresses would be a good option for couples.

Sinkage

When getting a brand-new mattress, most men and women want to know whether they will feel as though they are sinking “into” the mattress or lying “on top” of it.

Even though you are likely to experience some immediate sinkage in the soft foam at the top, by the time you sink through these layers, you will find the individually-wrapped coils and find great support. This combination will interest a wide assortment of sleepers, but will suit stomach and back sleepers the most.

Edge Support

Though I do feel the memory foam compress as I sit close to the edge of the bed, the pocketed coils stop the mattress from compressing too much beyond that. I feel very secured seated on the bed.

In my view, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is due to their recently updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil system. There can be some compression at the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but lying on the side will feel comfortable and safe. Partners who need more space to stretch out typically appreciate strong edges.

Lying down, I also feel like I could get near the edge of the bed without feeling like I’ll fall off or be ejected from the mattress. Overall, I believe that the Helix mattress has great edge support.

100 Night Sleep Trial

One of the best features of purchasing a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they typically come with. Helix Mattress is not any different. You customize the mattress that’s meant for you, place your order, and in two weeks, it’s delivered to your home. From the minute you click to purchase the mattress, you have 100 nights to try it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it is not what you wanted, you can return it free of charge, and get a full refund.

Should you return the mattress, it isn’t resold or restocked. Actually, Helix Sleep finds a local place to donate it. If there’s no way Helix can find a way to donate your returned mattress, it’s recycled instead. Helix Mattress Customer Service Number

Helix Warranty

Helix Sleep offers a generous 10-year warranty that covers defects, but it has limitations, exceptions, and the burden of proof is on the purchaser (like most warranties). Needless to say, you must be the original owner of the mattress to use the warranty, and you need to be sure that you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.

As long as you follow all of Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty should be valid. That means you need to use a suitable foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4” apart) and you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on it!

If your Helix starts to have an indentation of 1” or more, which is what usually happens when low-density foams break down, you could be eligible for a repair or replacement of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?

Helix mattresses need no turning, but it’s recommended that you rotate the mattress possibly a couple of times a year to keep it from wearing down from excess sagging.

For routine cleanup, it’s suggested to use cold water along gentle dish detergent to clean any stains or dirt. Be sure to wash using soft circular movements, instead of rubbing.
