Helix Sleep markets hybrid mattresses manufactured with dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores reinforced using polyfoam base layers. Helix Mattress Contact
Helix Sleep allows complete mattress customization. Customers are urged to fill out a questionnaire that discusses their height, weight, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other options. Based on these answers, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following six mattress options; each respective option offers a one-of-a-kind combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep hybrids that have targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them perfect for those who sleep on their side. While those that have moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are great for all sleep positions. Lighter men and women may feel more comfy on models with balanced support, while people who weigh 130 lbs or more often prefer the variants with additional support.
Helix Sleep also markets two variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with extra support and moderate cushioning). Both these mattresses have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, making them great for couples with differing tastes. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for bigger, heavier people. This model has an additional layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable selection conforms to sleepers with a wide variety of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also offer strong edge support, isolate motion transfer well, and produce less noise than the average hybrid. Helix Mattress Contact

Construction Helix Mattress Contact
All 9 of the different iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction should be rather similar. The six core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in density and firmness depending on the foams used in order to attain more/less firmness and more/less support. The 4 different foams utilized within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the models have all of the foams – some only have three of the four – but it really won’t matter much for the buyer. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer 9 distinct variants (and supposedly have a mattress for everybody). Helix Mattress Contact
Below, I briefly talk about the construction (materials and quality) of the average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses have the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I found it to be thin and stretchy, allowing for some nice breathability. However, if you want something more lavish, you can elect to swap out the normal cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase change material for temperature regulation.
Comfort Layer – On top, you’ll discover a thick layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow reaction to pressure, which means you’re probably going to experience some gratifying body contouring. While it might seem odd for a supposedly medium firm bed to make use of a memory foam comfort layer, it is crucial to remember that the presence of deep sinkage doesn’t necessarily translate to softness; in actuality, oftentimes it generates quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the memory foam comfort layer, you will find a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to curb the sinkage of the memory foam and establish a supportive, medium firm feeling as you hit the pocketed coils below.
Support Layer – The bulk of the mattress consists of this section of individually wrapped coils. This system brings a supportive lift to the structure, working to put the sleeper “on top” of the bed, as opposed to “in it”. Since the coils are wrapped individually, they’re also going to encourage additional breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last, you’ll uncover a thin section of high-density poly foam. This segment doesn’t affect the feel of the bed too much, functioning mostly to provide the pocketed coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After taking a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us talk about their different firmness levels and feels.
The firmness of the Helix is going to vary widely depending on the model you choose. The Helix Dusk and Midnight, have medium firmness levels, which tends to be quite versatile and therefore very popular. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep would be happy to oblige you with more options.
Lying down on the Helix Midnight, the uppermost foam comfort layer is soft and produces some top quality body shaping, while the rest of the materials within the Midnight work to control this and make an overall firmer composition. The firmer support foams and individually-wrapped coils also assist with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there’s just enough good comfort material here to conform to your lumbar while supporting your whole upper spine in a neutral position. For heavier buyers or people who prefer a firmer bed, there are two more options for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight variants.
Many side sleepers will feel perfectly comfy on the Midnight, however, if you’re wanting less pressure while still sticking with a flexible medium firmness, you might decide to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and gives the surface a small bit of bounce.
Side sleepers typically need to be mindful of pressure because they sleep with all of their weight on a smaller region. People who are smaller than average or those looking for plenty of pressure relief may want to stay with the plusher variants.
Those who sleep on their stomach will feel comfortable in the Midnight, especially if this isn’t their main position or they tend to switch things up a lot. Firmer mattresses may be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so they can ensure their hips do not dip and over-arch their backbone.
Finally, the manufacturer recommends Helix for sleepers around 350 pounds or partners that weigh up to 250 lbs each. In the event you or your spouse are substantially bigger than average, the company has also created a mattress called the Nightfall that is constructed to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 lbs.
Couples with different body types or tastes may also select a dual comfort variant that pairs Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if neither of those options seem quite right, you can always check out the 4 other beds in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, slightly firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest option of the bunch).
Next up, let’s talk about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that’s noticeable from 1 side of the mattress to the other. While this is going to be significant for all sleepers, those who doze with a spouse may find it especially interesting as it’ll illuminate just how bothered you may be by your partner’s nighttime movements. Based on my observation, Helix exceeds expectations for hybrids in this space due to the amount and quality of foam it incorporates, as well as the individually wrapped coils that help trap motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper concerned that motion from the opposite side of the bed will bother you, then you shouldn’t have much concern with this mattress. I’d say that all of the Helix mattresses are a good choice for couples.
While buying a new mattress, the majority of individuals want to know whether they will feel as though they are sinking “into” the it or laying “on top” of it.
Even though you’re going to encounter some immediate sinkage in the uppermost foam layers, when you sink through those layers, you’ll reach the pocketed coils and find great support. This combination will appeal to a wide range of sleepers, but will suit stomach and back sleepers the most.
Though I do feel the memory foam compress as I sit close to the edge of the Helix Midnight, the coils stop the mattress from compressing too much . I feel very secure sitting on the mattress.
In my view, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is because of their recently updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil unit. There can be a little compression at the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but laying on the side will feel comfy and secure. Couples who want more space to stretch out normally love strong edges.
Laying down, I feel like I could get near the edge of the bed without feeling like I’ll roll off or be pushed off the mattress. Overall, I think the Helix mattress has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of purchasing a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they typically include. Helix Mattress is no different. You customize the mattress that is intended for you, place your order, and within two weeks, it is delivered to your door. From the moment you click to order the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to check it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it is not what you wanted, you can return it free, and get a full refund.
Should you return the mattress, it is not restocked or resold. Actually, the company does its best to find a local place to donate it. When there’s no way the company can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, it’s recycled instead. Helix Mattress Contact
Helix offers a generous 10-year guarantee that covers defects, but it comes with a few limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the purchaser (like most guarantees ). Of course, you must be the original owner of the Helix to use the warranty, and you will need to be sure you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all of the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty will be valid. That means you need to use a suitable foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4” apart) and you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on it!
If your Helix starts to show an indentation of 1” or more, which is what generally happens when low-density foams break down, you could qualify for a replacement or repair of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no turning, but it’s recommended that you rotate the mattress possibly once or twice a year to keep it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For routine cleanup, it is advised to use cold water with gentle dish soap to clean any dirt or stains. Make sure to clean using gentle circular motions, instead of rubbing.
