Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses made with polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores reinforced with polyfoam base layers. Helix Mattress Bed Sheets
Helix Sleep gives you complete mattress customization. Buyers are requested to fill out a survey that asks for their height, weight, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other factors. Then based on these answers, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following six mattress variants; each individual variant gives a unique combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep hybrids with targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them ideal for side sleepers. While hybrids with moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are suitable for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter men and women may feel most comfortable on variants with balanced support, while those who weigh 130 pounds or more often prefer the variants with additional support.
Helix Sleep also offers 2 models with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and additional support). Both of these mattresses have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, which makes them great for couples with differing preferences. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for bigger, heavier individuals. This model has an additional layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable aspect accommodates sleepers with a large variety of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate movement well, and create less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Mattress Bed Sheets

Construction Helix Mattress Bed Sheets
All 9 of the various iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction will be quite similar. The 6 core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in firmness and density based on the foams used in order to achieve more/less support and more/less firmness. The four different foams utilized within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the variants have all the foams – some only have three of the four – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the purchaser. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer 9 different variants (and supposedly have a model for everybody). Helix Mattress Bed Sheets
Below, I briefly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of your average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses have exactly the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I found it to be thin and stretchy, allowing for some nice breathability. However, if you would like something more lavish, you can opt to swap out the regular cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase-change material for heat regulation.
Comfort Layer – On top, you’ll encounter a heavy layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow response to pressure, which means you are probably going to encounter some great body shaping. Even though it may seem strange for a purportedly medium firmness mattress to make use of a memory foam comfort layer, it’s important to remember that the presence of deep sinkage doesn’t necessarily translate to softness; in actuality, most of the time it produces quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the comfort layer, you’ll find a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to suppress the sinkage of the memory foam and create a supportive, medium firm feel as you reach the individually wrapped coils underneath.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress is made up of this section of individually wrapped coils. This system brings a supportive lift to the construction, working to put the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, instead of “in it”. Since these coils are individually wrapped, they’re also going to allow extra breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Lastly, you will discover a thin section of high-density poly foam. This section does not affect the feel of the mattress too much, working mostly to provide the pocketed coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After having a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s discuss their different feels and firmness levels.
The firmness level of the Helix is going to differ widely depending on which variant you choose. The Helix Dusk and Midnight, have moderate firmness levels, which is going to be very versatile and therefore best-selling. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep is happy to provide you with additional choices.
Laying down on the Helix Midnight, the uppermost foam comfort layer feels soft and produces some high quality body contouring, while the other materials within the Midnight work to counteract this and make an overall firmer structure. The firmer support foams and pocketed coils also assist with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there is enough good comfort material in the mattress to conform to your lumbar while supporting your whole upper spine in a neutral position. For larger buyers or people who prefer a firmer bed, there are two more models for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight variants.
Most side sleepers will feel perfectly comfortable on the Midnight, but, if you’re wanting a bit less pressure while still going with a versatile medium firmness, you may decide to check out the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and provides the surface a little bit of bounce.
Side sleepers typically need to be mindful of pressure since they sleep with all of their weight on a tinier region. People who are smaller than average or those in the market for lots of pressure relief might want to stay with the plusher models.
Stomach sleepers should feel comfortable in the Midnight, particularly if this is not their main position or they tend to change things up a lot. Firmer mattresses may be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so that they can make sure their hips do not dip and over-arch their spine.
Finally, Helix Sleep suggests Helix mattresses for sleepers around 350 pounds or couples who weigh up to 250 pounds each. In the event you or your partner are substantially larger than average, Helix has also produced a mattress called the Nightfall that is constructed to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 pounds.
Partners with differing types of bodies or tastes can also pick a dual comfort model that combines Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if none of those options sound quite right, you may always check out the four other variants in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, a little firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest option of the bunch).
Next up, let us talk about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that’s noticeable from one side of the bed to the other. While this will be important for all people, those who doze with a partner may find it particularly intriguing as it’ll illuminate just how bothered you’ll be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Based on my observation, Helix surpasses expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space due to the amount and quality of foam it incorporates, in addition to the pocketed coils that help trap motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper afraid that motion from the opposite side of the bed will bother you, you should not have much concern with this mattress. I would say that any of the Helix mattresses would be a good choice for couples.
When buying a new mattress, the majority of individuals wish to know whether they will feel like they’re sinking “into” the mattress or laying “on top” of it.
While you’re going to experience some immediate sinkage from the uppermost foam layers, by the time you sink through those layers, you will hit the individually-wrapped coils and find fantastic support. This combination will appeal to a vast range of individuals, but will satisfy stomach and back sleepers the most.
Though I do feel the memory foam collapse as I sit near the edge of the Helix Midnight, the coils stop the mattress from collapsing a lot beyond that. I feel very secure seated on the bed.
In my view, Helix mattresses are well above average when it comes to edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is due to their recently updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil unit. There may be a little compression in the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but lying on the side will feel comfy and safe. Partners who need more space to stretch out typically appreciate strong edges.
Laying down, I feel like I can get near the edge of the bed without feeling like I will roll over or be ejected from the bed. Overall, I believe the Helix mattress has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of purchasing a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they usually include. Helix Mattress is no different. You customize the mattress that’s made for you, place your order, and in a couple of weeks, it’s sent to your door. From the minute you click to order the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to check it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it is not ideal, you can return it free of charge, and get a full refund.
If you do return the mattress, it is not restocked or resold. In fact, Helix finds a local place to donate it. If there’s no way Helix Sleep can find a way to donate your returned mattress, they have it recycled instead. Helix Mattress Bed Sheets
Helix offers an amazing 10-year warranty that covers flaws, but it comes with some limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the consumer (like most warranties). Needless to say, you should be the original owner of the Helix to use the warranty, and you will need to be sure you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all of the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty will be valid. That means you will need to use a suitable base (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4” apart) and you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on it!
If your mattress starts to have an indentation of 1” or longer, something that usually happens when low-density foams break down, then you could be eligible for a repair or replacement of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no turning, but it’s recommended that you rotate the mattress possibly once or twice a year to keep it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For regular cleanup, it is advised to use cool water with gentle dish soap to clean any dirt or stains. Be sure that you wash using gentle circular movements, rather than rubbing.
