Helix Sleep gives you complete mattress customization. Buyers are urged to fill out a survey that discusses their weight, height, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other elements. Based on these results, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following six mattress variants; each individual model gives a one-of-a-kind combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep mattresses with targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them ideal for those who sleep on their side. While mattresses with moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are great for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter individuals may feel more comfortable on models with balanced support, while people who weigh 130 lbs or more tend to prefer the models with extra support.
Helix Sleep also markets 2 variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with extra support and moderate cushioning). Both these variants have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, which makes them ideal for couples with different preferences. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for larger, heavier people. This mattress has an additional layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses found that the customizable aspect accommodates sleepers with a wide assortment of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate movement nicely, and create less noise than the average hybrid. Helix Login

Construction Helix Login
All nine of the different iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction should be rather similar. The 6 core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in firmness and density depending on the foams used in order to get more/less support and more/less firmness. The four unique foams used within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the mattresses have all the foams – some just have three of the four – but it really won’t matter much for the purchaser. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer nine different mattresses (and supposedly have a model for everybody). Helix Login
Below, I briefly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of the typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses have the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I found it to be thin and stretchy, allowing for some great breathability. However, if you prefer something more lavish, you can opt to swap out the regular cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is made up of a phase change fabric to regulate temperature.
Comfort Layer – On top, you’ll find a heavy layer of memory foam. This material has a slow reaction to pressure, meaning you’re likely to encounter some great body contouring. While it might seem strange for a supposedly medium firmness mattress to feature a memory foam comfort layer, it’s crucial to remember that the presence of deep sinkage doesn’t always translate to softness; in fact, most of the time it generates quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After getting past the memory foam comfort layer, you’ll uncover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to suppress the sinkage of the memory foam and establish a supportive, medium firm feel as you hit the pocketed coils underneath.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress consists of this segment of pocketed coils. This system brings a supportive lift into the construction, working to put the sleeper “on top” of the bed, as opposed to “in it”. Since the coils are wrapped individually, they are also going to encourage extra breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last but not least, you’ll discover a thin section of high-density poly foam. This layer does not really affect the feel of the bed too much, functioning mostly to give the pocketed coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After having a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s discuss their varying feels and firmness levels.
The firmness level of the Helix will differ widely depending on the variant you pick out. The Helix Dusk and Midnight, have moderate firmness levels, which is going to be very versatile and thus best-selling. If you have more specific needs, however, Helix Sleep is happy to oblige you with more options.
Lying down on the Midnight, the memory foam comfort layer is soft and generates some high quality body shaping, while the rest of the materials in the mattress work to counteract this and make an overall firmer structure. The individually-wrapped coils and the firmer support foams also assist with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there is enough good comfort material here to conform to your lower spine while supporting your back in a neutral position. For heavier sleepers or those who want a firmer mattress, there are two more options for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn models.
Many side sleepers will feel totally comfortable on the Midnight, however, if you are needing a bit less pressure while still sticking with a flexible medium firmness, you may want to check out the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and provides the surface a small bit of bounce.
Side sleepers typically have to be mindful of pressure because they sleep with all their weight on a tinier region. People who are lighter than average or people in the market for a lot of pressure relief may want to stick to the plusher variants.
Those who sleep on their stomach will feel supported in the Midnight, especially if this isn’t their primary position or they tend to switch things up a lot. Firmer mattresses might be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so that they can ensure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their spine.
Finally, the manufacturer recommends Helix for sleepers around 350 lbs or couples who weigh a maximum of 250 lbs each. If you or your partner are significantly bigger than average, the company has also created a mattress called the Nightfall that is constructed to accommodate a total weight of 1000 pounds.
Couples with differing body types or tastes can also pick a dual comfort variant that pairs Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if none of these options feel right, you can always check out the four other mattresses in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, a little firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest mattress of the bunch).
Next up, let us chat about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that is noticeable from one side of the bed to the other. While this will be significant for all sleepers, those who doze with a spouse may find it particularly interesting as it’ll illuminate just how bothered you may be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Based on my observation, Helix Sleep surpasses expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space due to the quantity and quality of foam it contains, as well as the pocketed coils which help trap motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper afraid that motion from the opposite side of the bed will wake you, you should not have much concern with this mattress. I’d say that all of the Helix mattresses are a good option for couples.
While getting a brand-new mattress, the majority of individuals want to know whether they will feel as though they’re sinking “into” the it or lying “on top” of it.
Even though you’re likely to encounter a little immediate sinkage in the soft foam at the top, when you sink through those layers, you will reach the individually-wrapped coils and find fantastic support. This combo will interest a vast assortment of sleepers, but will suit stomach and back sleepers the most.
While I do feel the foam compress as I sit close to the edge of the Helix Midnight, the pocketed coils prevent the mattress from compressing a lot . I feel quite secure sitting on the bed.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is because of their recently updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil system. There may be some compression at the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but lying on the side will feel comfortable and safe. Couples who want more space to stretch out typically appreciate stronger edges.
Lying down, I feel like I could get close to the edge of the mattress without feeling like I’ll roll over or be ejected from the mattress. Overall, I think the Helix has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of buying a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they typically come with. Helix is no different. You customize the mattress that is intended for you, place your order, and in a couple of weeks, it is delivered to your door. From the minute you click to order the mattress, you have 100 nights to check it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it isn’t what you wanted, you can return it free of charge, and receive a full refund.
Should you return the mattress, it isn’t resold or restocked. Actually, the company finds a local place to donate it. If there is no way the company can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, they have it recycled instead. Helix Login
Helix offers an amazing 10-year warranty that covers defects, but it has some limitations, exceptions, and the burden of proof is on the customer (like most guarantees ). Needless to say, you should be the original owner of the Helix to use the guarantee, and you will need to be sure you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you will need to use a suitable foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4 inches apart) and that you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your Helix begins to show an indentation of 1 inch or more, something that generally happens when low-density foams break down, you could qualify for a repair or replacement of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no turning, but it is recommended that you rotate the mattress possibly a couple of times a year to keep it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For routine cleanup, it’s suggested to use cold water along gentle dish detergent to clean any dirt or stains. Be certain that you clean using soft circular movements, rather than rubbing.
