Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses made with polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores reinforced using polyfoam base layers. Helix Location
Helix Sleep gives you complete mattress customization. Buyers are asked to fill out a questionnaire that discusses their weight, height, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other elements. Based on these answers, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following six mattress variants; each respective option offers a unique combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep hybrids that have targeted cushioning conform closely, making them ideal for those who sleep on their side. While hybrids with moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are suitable for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter men and women may feel more comfortable on models with balanced support, while individuals that weigh 130 pounds or more often favor the models with additional support.
Helix Sleep also markets 2 mattresses with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with extra support and moderate cushioning). Both these models have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, making them suitable for couples with different preferences. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for larger, heavier individuals. This model has an additional layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable selection conforms to sleepers with a wide variety of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also provide strong edge support, isolate movement nicely, and produce less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Location

Construction Helix Location
All nine of the different iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction will be quite similar. The six core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in firmness and density depending on the foams utilized in order to attain more/less support and more/less firmness. The four different foams utilized within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the mattresses have all of the foams – some only have three of the four – but it really won’t matter much for the consumer. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer nine distinct variants (and hopefully have a model for everybody). Helix Location
Underneath, I concisely discuss the construction (materials and quality) of your typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses have the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I found it to be thin and pliable, allowing for some nice breathability. But, if you want something more lavish, you can elect to swap out the standard cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is made up of a phase change fabric for heat regulation.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you will encounter a thick layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow response to pressure, which means you’re likely to encounter some great body shaping. While it might seem strange for a purportedly medium firm mattress to incorporate a memory foam comfort layer, it’s important to remember that the feeling of deep sinkage does not necessarily translate to softness; in fact, most of the time it gives quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the comfort layer, you will find a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to suppress the sinkage of the comfort layer and set a supportive, medium firm feeling as you hit the individually wrapped coils underneath.
Support Layer – The majority of the mattress is made up of this segment of individually wrapped coils. This system gives a supportive lift into the structure, working to place the sleeper “on top” of the bed, as opposed to “in it”. Since the coils are wrapped individually, they’re also likely to allow additional breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last but not least, you will uncover a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This section does not affect the feel of the mattress too much, working mostly to give the pocketed coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After taking a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s chat about their varying firmness levels and feels.
The firmness level of the Helix will differ widely depending on which version you pick out. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have medium firmness levels, which tends to be quite versatile and therefore very popular. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep is happy to provide you with more options.
Lying down on the Midnight, the memory foam comfort layer feels soft and produces some top quality body shaping, while the rest of the materials within the mattress work to counteract this and create an overall firmer structure. The individually-wrapped coils and the firmer support foams also assist with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there’s enough good comfort material here to conform to your lumbar while supporting your whole upper spine in a neutral position. For larger buyers or people who prefer a firmer bed, there are two more choices for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn variants.
Majority of side sleepers will feel perfectly comfortable on the Midnight, but, if you’re needing less pressure while still going with a flexible medium firmness, you may want to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and provides the surface a small bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically have to be mindful of pressure because they sleep with all their weight on a tinier region. People who are smaller than average or those looking for a lot of pressure relief might want to stick to the plusher variants.
Stomach sleepers will feel comfortable in the Midnight, particularly if this is not their main position or they have a tendency to change things up a lot. Firmer mattresses might be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so they can make sure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their spine.
Last, Helix Sleep suggests Helix for sleepers around 350 lbs or couples who weigh up to 250 pounds each. If you or your partner are substantially larger than average, the company has also produced a mattress called the Nightfall that’s created to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 lbs.
Couples with differing body types or preferences may also pick a dual comfort model that combines Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if none of those models seem quite right, you can always have a look at the four other mattresses in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, slightly firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest mattress in the collection).
Next up, let’s chat about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that’s noticeable from one side of the bed to the other. While this will be important for all buyers, those who doze with a partner may find it especially interesting as it’ll illuminate just how bothered you’ll be by your partner’s nighttime movements. Helix Location
According to my research, Helix exceeds expectations for hybrids in this space because of the quantity and quality of foam it incorporates, in addition to the pocketed coils that help keep motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper afraid that motion from the other side of the mattress will wake you, you should not have a lot of concern with this hybrid. I’d say that any of the Helix mattresses are a good option for couples.
When purchasing a brand-new mattress, the majority of men and women wish to know whether they will feel as though they are sinking “into” the it or lying “on top” of it.
Even though you may encounter a little immediate sinkage in the uppermost foam layers, when you sink through those layers, you will hit the individually-wrapped coils and find fantastic support. This combination will appeal to a vast assortment of individuals, but will suit back and stomach sleepers the most.
Though I do feel the foam collapse as I sit close to the edge of the Helix Midnight, the pocketed coils prevent the mattress from collapsing a lot beyond that. I feel quite secured sitting on the mattress.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses are well above average when it comes to edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is due to their freshly updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil unit. There may be a little compression in the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but laying on the side should feel comfy and secure. Couples who want more space to stretch out normally love strong edges.
Laying down, I feel like I can get near the edge of the bed without feeling like I’ll fall over or be pushed off the bed. Overall, I believe the Helix has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of buying a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they usually include. Helix Mattress is no different. You create the mattress that is intended for you, place your order, and within two weeks, it’s delivered to your home. From the moment you click to purchase the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to try it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it is not what you wanted, you can return it for free of charge, and receive a complete refund.
Should you return the mattress, it isn’t resold or restocked. Actually, Helix does its best to find a local place to donate it. If there’s no way Helix can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, they have it recycled instead. Helix Location
Helix Sleep offers an awesome 10-year guarantee that covers defects, but it comes with some limitations, exceptions, plus the burden of proof is on the purchaser (like most guarantees ). Of course, you must be the original owner of the mattress to make use of the warranty, and you will need to be sure that you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all of Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty will be valid. That means you will need to use a suitable base (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4” apart) and you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your mattress begins to show an indentation of 1” or longer, something that generally happens when low-density foams break down, you could be eligible for a replacement or repair of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no turning, but it is suggested that you rotate the mattress perhaps once or twice a year to prevent it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For routine cleaning, it’s advised to use cold water along gentle dish soap to clean any dirt or stains. Be certain to wash using gentle circular movements, instead of rubbing.
