Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses manufactured with dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores fortified with polyfoam base layers. Helix Llc
Helix Sleep allows full mattress customization. Purchasers are requested to complete a questionnaire that asks for their weight, height, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other options. Based on these answers, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following six mattress options; each individual model gives a one-of-a-kind combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep mattresses that have targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them perfect for side sleepers. While those that have moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are ideal for all sleep positions. Lighter individuals may feel most comfortable on models with balanced support, while those who weigh 130 lbs or more tend to favor the variants with extra support.
Helix Sleep also markets two models with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with additional support and moderate cushioning). Both these variants have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, making them great for couples with differing preferences. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for bigger, heavier people. This model has an extra layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable selection accommodates sleepers with a large range of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also offer strong edge support, isolate movement well, and create less noise than the average hybrid. Helix Llc

Construction Helix Llc
All 9 of the different iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction will be quite similar. The 6 core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in firmness and density depending upon the foams used in order to attain more/less support and more/less firmness. The four different foams used within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the variants have all the foams – some only have three of the four – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the purchaser. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull to be able to offer nine different models (and hopefully have a model for everyone). Helix Llc
Underneath, I quickly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of your average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses come with the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I thought it to be stretchy and thin, allowing for some wonderful breathability. However, if you prefer something more amped up, you can choose to swap out the standard cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase change fabric for temperature regulation.
Comfort Layer – On top, you will find a heavy layer of memory foam. This material has a slow response to pressure, meaning you’re probably going to experience some gratifying body contouring. While it might seem odd for a purportedly medium firm bed to feature a memory foam comfort layer, it’s crucial to remember that the existence of deep sinkage does not always translate to softness; in fact, most of the time it produces quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After getting past the comfort layer, you’ll uncover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to suppress the sinkage of the memory foam and set a supportive, medium firm feeling as you hit the individually wrapped coils underneath.
Support Layer – The bulk of the mattress is made up of this section of pocketed coils. This system brings a supportive lift to the structure, working to put the sleeper “on top” of the bed, as opposed to “in it”. Because these coils are individually wrapped, they are also likely to allow additional breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last, you will find a thin section of high-density poly foam. This section does not really affect the feel of the mattress too much, functioning mostly to give the individually wrapped coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After taking a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us chat about their different firmness levels and feels.
The firmness level of the Helix is going to vary widely depending on which version you select. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which will be quite versatile and therefore very popular. If you have more specific requirements, however, Helix Sleep would be happy to oblige you with additional choices.
Laying down on the Helix Midnight, the uppermost foam comfort layer is soft and generates some quality body contouring, while the rest of the materials within the Midnight work to counteract this and create an overall firmer composition. The individually-wrapped coils and the firmer support foams also help with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there’s enough good comfort material in the mattress to conform to your lumbar while supporting your whole back in a neutral position. For larger buyers or people who prefer a firmer bed, there are 2 more models for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight models.
Most side sleepers should feel totally comfy on the Midnight, however, if you are wanting less pressure while still sticking with a versatile medium firmness, you might decide to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and gives the surface a little bit of bounce.
Side sleepers typically need to be mindful of pressure since they sleep with most of their weight on a smaller area. People who are smaller than average or people in the market for lots of pressure relief may want to stick to the plusher models.
Those who sleep on their stomach will feel supported in the Midnight, particularly if this is not their primary position or they tend to switch things up a lot. Firmer choices may be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so they can ensure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their backbone.
Lastly, the manufacturer recommends Helix mattresses for sleepers up to 350 lbs or couples that weigh up to 250 lbs each. If you or your spouse are significantly bigger than average, Helix has also created a mattress called the Nightfall that is built to accommodate a total weight of 1000 lbs.
Couples with differing body types or tastes may also select a dual comfort option that combines Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if none of those options seem quite right, you could always have a look at the four other models in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, slightly firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest mattress in the line).
Next up, let’s chat about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that’s detectable from 1 side of the mattress to the other. While this is going to be significant for many people, those who doze with a spouse may find it particularly interesting as it’ll show just how bothered you will be by your partner’s nighttime movements. Helix Llc
According to my research, Helix exceeds expectations for hybrids in this space due to the amount and quality of foam it contains, as well as the pocketed coils which help keep motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper worried that motion from the opposite side of the bed will wake you, you shouldn’t have a lot of concern with this hybrid. I’d say that all of the Helix mattresses are a good choice for couples.
When purchasing a new mattress, most people wish to know whether they’ll feel like they’re sinking “into” the mattress or laying “on top” of it.
While you may encounter some immediate sinkage from the uppermost foam layers, when you sink through those layers, you are going to reach the pocketed coils and experience fantastic support. This combination will appeal to a wide range of sleepers, but will satisfy stomach and back sleepers the most.
Though I do feel the memory foam collapse as I sit near the edge of the Helix Midnight, the pocketed coils stop the mattress from compressing a lot beyond that. I feel very secure seated on the mattress.
In my view, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is because of their freshly updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil system. There may be a little compression at the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but laying on the side should feel comfortable and secure. Partners who want more space to stretch out normally love strong edges.
Lying down, I also feel like I can get near the edge of the mattress without feeling like I will roll off or be pushed off the bed. Overall, I believe the Helix has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of buying a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they typically come with. Helix Sleep is not any different. You create the mattress that is made for you, place your order, and within two weeks, it is sent to your home. From the minute you click to buy the mattress, you have 100 nights to test it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it isn’t perfect, you can return it free of charge, and receive a complete refund.
If you do return the mattress, it isn’t resold or restocked. In fact, Helix Sleep locates a local place to donate it. If there’s no way Helix Sleep can find a way to donate your returned mattress, it is recycled instead. Helix Llc
Helix Sleep offers a generous 10-year warranty that covers defects, but it has limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the consumer (like most warranties). Of course, you must be the original owner of the Helix to use the guarantee, and you will need to be sure that you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all of Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you need to use a suitable base (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4” apart) and you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your mattress begins to have an indentation of 1 inch or more, which is what usually happens when low-density foams break down, you could be eligible for a replacement or repair of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no turning, but it’s suggested that you rotate the mattress perhaps once or twice a year to prevent it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For routine cleanup, it is advised to use cold water along gentle dish detergent to clean any stains or dirt. Make sure that you wash using gentle circular motions, rather than rubbing.
