Helix Sleep sells hybrid mattresses manufactured with dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores fortified using polyfoam base layers. Helix King Mattress Dimensions
Helix Sleep offers complete mattress customization. Purchasers are urged to complete a questionnaire that asks for their height, weight, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other elements. Based on these answers, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following six mattress options; each respective variant provides a unique combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep hybrids that have targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them perfect for side sleepers. While those that have moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are great for all sleep positions. Lighter people may feel most comfy on models with balanced support, while those who weigh 130 lbs or more often prefer the models with extra support.
Helix Sleep also markets two variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with additional support and moderate cushioning). Both of these models have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, which makes them great for couples with different tastes. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for bigger, heavier individuals. This model has an extra layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable aspect accommodates sleepers with a wide assortment of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also provide strong edge support, isolate motion transfer nicely, and create less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix King Mattress Dimensions

Construction Helix King Mattress Dimensions
All 9 of the different iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction will be rather similar. The six core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in firmness and density depending on the foams utilized in order to achieve more/less support and more/less firmness. The four different foams used within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the beds have all of the foams – some only have 3 of the 4 – but it really won’t matter much for the purchaser. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull to be able to offer nine different variants (and hopefully have a model for everyone). Helix King Mattress Dimensions
Underneath, I briefly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of your average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses come with the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I thought it to be thin and pliable, allowing for some great breathability. However, if you would like something more luxurious, you can elect to swap out the standard cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase change fabric to regulate heat.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you will find a heavy layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow reaction to pressure, which means you’re likely to experience some satisfying body contouring. While it might seem strange for a supposedly medium firmness mattress to incorporate a memory foam comfort layer, it’s crucial to remember that the feeling of deep sinkage does not always translate to softness; in fact, most of the time it gives quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the comfort layer, you will uncover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to suppress the sinkage of the memory foam and create a supportive, medium firm feel as you reach the pocketed coils underneath.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress consists of this segment of pocketed coils. This system gives a supportive lift into the structure, working to position the sleeper “on top” of the bed, as opposed to “in it”. Since these coils are individually wrapped, they’re also going to give extra breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last, you’ll uncover a thin section of high-density poly foam. This layer doesn’t really affect the feel of the bed too much, working mostly to provide the pocketed coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After having a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s talk about their different feels and firmness levels.
The firmness level of the Helix will differ widely depending on which variant you select. The Helix Dusk and Midnight, have medium firmness levels, which is going to be quite versatile and therefore best-selling. If you have more specific needs, however, Helix Sleep is happy to oblige you with additional choices.
Lying down on the Midnight, the uppermost foam layer feels soft and generates some top quality body contouring, while the other materials within the mattress work to counteract this and make an overall firmer composition. The individually-wrapped coils and the firmer support foams also help with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there’s just enough good comfort material in the mattress to conform to your lumbar while supporting your upper spine in a neutral position. For larger buyers or people who want a firmer mattress, there are 2 more options for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight variants.
Majority of side sleepers will feel totally comfortable on the Midnight, however, if you are wanting less pressure while still sticking with a flexible medium firmness, you might decide to check out the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and gives the surface a little bit of bounce.
Side sleepers typically need to be mindful of pressure because they sleep with most of their weight on a smaller region. Those who are lighter than average or those looking for plenty of pressure relief may want to stick to the plusher variants.
Those who sleep on their stomach should feel comfortable in the Midnight, especially if this is not their primary position or they have a tendency to change things up a lot. Firmer mattresses might be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so that they can ensure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their spine.
Lastly, Helix Sleep suggests Helix mattresses for sleepers up to 350 lbs or couples who weigh a maximum of 250 pounds each. If you or your partner are significantly larger than average, the company has also created a mattress called the Nightfall that’s constructed to accommodate a total weight of 1000 lbs.
Partners with differing types of bodies or preferences can also pick a dual comfort option that combines Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if neither of those models seem right, you may always have a look at the 4 other models in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, slightly firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest option in the collection).
Next up, let us chat about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that’s noticeable from 1 side of the mattress to the other. While this is going to be significant for all sleepers, those who doze with a partner may find it particularly interesting as it’ll show just how bothered you may be by your partner’s nighttime movements. Helix King Mattress Dimensions
Based on my observation, Helix exceeds expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space because of the quantity and quality of foam it incorporates, as well as the pocketed coils which help trap motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper afraid that motion from the other side of the mattress will bother you, then you shouldn’t have much concern with this mattress. I’d say that all of the Helix mattresses would be a good option for couples.
When getting a new mattress, most men and women would like to know whether they will feel as though they’re sinking “into” the it or laying “on top” of it.
Even though you’re going to encounter some immediate sinkage in the soft foam at the top, when you sink through those layers, you will hit the individually-wrapped coils and find amazing support. This combination will interest a wide range of individuals, but will suit back and stomach sleepers the most.
While I do feel the memory foam collapse as I sit near the edge of the bed, the pocketed coils prevent the mattress from compressing a lot beyond that. I feel quite secure sitting on the bed.
In my view, Helix mattresses perform above average for edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is because of their newly updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil unit. There may be a little compression in the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but laying on the side should feel comfortable and safe. Partners who need more space to stretch out typically appreciate strong edges.
Lying down, I feel like I can get near the edge of the mattress without feeling like I’ll roll off or be pushed off the mattress. Overall, I think the Helix has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of purchasing a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they typically include. Helix Sleep is no different. You customize the mattress that’s meant for you, place your order, and in a couple of weeks, it’s sent to your home. From the minute you click to buy the mattress, you have 100 nights to test it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it isn’t perfect, you can return it for free of charge, and receive a full refund.
If you do return the mattress, it isn’t resold or restocked. In fact, the company locates a local place to donate it. When there is no way Helix Sleep can find a way to donate your returned mattress, they have it recycled instead. Helix King Mattress Dimensions
Helix offers a generous 10-year guarantee that covers defects, but it has some limitations, exceptions, plus the burden of proof is on the consumer (like most guarantees ). Needless to say, you should be the original owner of the Helix to use the guarantee, and you need to be sure that you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all of the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you need to have a proper foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4” apart) and you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on it!
If your mattress begins to have an indentation of 1” or longer, something that generally happens when low-density foams break down, you could qualify for a repair or replacement of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no flipping, but it is suggested that you rotate the mattress possibly once or twice a year to keep it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For regular cleaning, it’s suggested to use cool water with gentle dish soap to clean any dirt or stains. Make sure that you wash using soft circular motions, rather than rubbing.
