Helix Sleep sells hybrid mattresses manufactured with polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores enhanced with polyfoam base layers. Helix Investors
Helix Sleep allows complete mattress customization. Buyers are requested to fill out a questionnaire that discusses their height, weight, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other elements. Based on these results, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following 6 mattress variants; each individual option offers a one-of-a-kind combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep hybrids with targeted cushioning conform closely, making them optimal for those who sleep on their side. While hybrids with moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are suitable for all sleep positions. Lighter individuals may feel more comfy on variants with balanced support, while those who weigh 130 pounds or more often prefer the models with additional support.
Helix Sleep also offers two mattresses with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with additional support and moderate cushioning). Both of these mattresses have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, which makes them ideal for couples with differing preferences. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for larger, heavier individuals. This model has an extra layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable aspect accommodates sleepers with a wide range of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate movement nicely, and produce less noise than the average hybrid. Helix Investors

Construction Helix Investors
All nine of the various iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction should be fairly similar. The six core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in density and firmness depending on the foams utilized in order to achieve more/less support and more/less firmness. The four unique foams utilized within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the models have all the foams – some just have three of the four – but it really won’t matter much for the purchaser. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer nine distinct variants (and hopefully have a model for everyone). Helix Investors
Underneath, I concisely discuss the construction (materials and quality) of the typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses have the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I thought it to be thin and stretchy, allowing for some nice breathability. But, if you would like something more luxurious, you can choose to swap out the regular cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase-change fabric for heat regulation.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you will encounter a heavy layer of memory foam. This material has a slow response to pressure, meaning you are likely to experience some satisfying body contouring. Even though it may seem odd for a purportedly medium firmness mattress to make use of a memory foam layer, it is crucial to remember that the feeling of deep sinkage does not necessarily translate to softness; in fact, most of the time it generates quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After getting past the comfort layer, you will discover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to curb the sinkage of the comfort layer and establish a supportive, medium firm feel as you hit the individually wrapped coils below.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress consists of this section of pocketed coils. This system brings a supportive lift to the construction, working to position the sleeper “on top” of the bed, instead of “in it”. Since these coils are wrapped individually, they’re also likely to give extra breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Lastly, you will discover a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This segment doesn’t really affect the feel of the bed too much, functioning mostly to give the individually wrapped coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After having a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s chat about their different feels and firmness levels.
The firmness level of the Helix will differ widely depending on which version you select. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which will be quite versatile and therefore best-selling. If you have more specific preferences, however, Helix Sleep would be happy to provide you with more options.
Lying down on the Midnight, the memory foam layer feels soft and generates some top quality body contouring, while the other materials within the mattress work to control this and create an overall firmer composition. The pocketed coils and the firmer support foams also assist with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there is enough good comfort material in the Midnight to conform to your lumbar while supporting your upper spine in a neutral position. For larger sleepers or those who want a firmer mattress, there are 2 more models for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight models.
Most side sleepers will feel totally comfortable on the Midnight, but, if you’re wanting less pressure while still going with a flexible medium firmness, you may decide to check out the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and provides the surface a little bit of bounce.
Side sleepers typically need to be mindful of pressure because they sleep with all of their weight on a tinier area. People who are smaller than average or those in the market for plenty of pressure relief may want to stick to the plusher models.
Stomach sleepers will feel supported in the Midnight, especially if this is not their primary position or they tend to change things up a lot. Firmer choices may be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so they can ensure their hips do not dip and over-arch their backbone.
Lastly, Helix Sleep suggests Helix mattresses for sleepers up to 350 lbs or partners that weigh up to 250 lbs each. If you or your partner are significantly larger than average, Helix has also produced a mattress called the Nightfall that is constructed to accommodate a total weight of 1000 lbs.
Couples with differing types of bodies or tastes may also pick a dual comfort variant that pairs Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if none of these options seem quite right, you could always check out the four other variants in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, a little firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest mattress of the bunch).
Now, let’s talk about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that is detectable from 1 side of the bed to the other. While this will be significant for many people, those who doze with a partner may find it particularly interesting as it’ll show just how bothered you may be by your partner’s nighttime movements. Helix Investors
Based on my observation, Helix Sleep surpasses expectations for hybrids in this space because of the quantity and quality of foam it contains, in addition to the individually wrapped coils which help trap motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper worried that motion from the other side of the bed will bother you, you shouldn’t have a lot of concern with this hybrid. I would say that all of the Helix mattresses are a good option for couples.
While purchasing a new mattress, most individuals want to know whether they will feel like they’re sinking “into” the mattress or lying “on top” of it.
While you may experience a little immediate sinkage in the uppermost foam layers, when you sink through those layers, you are going to reach the pocketed coils and find amazing support. This combination will interest a vast assortment of sleepers, but will suit back and stomach sleepers the most.
While I do feel the foam collapse as I sit close to the edge of the Helix Midnight, the individually-wrapped coils stop the mattress from collapsing too much . I feel quite secure seated on the mattress.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is because of their freshly updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil system. There can be some compression at the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but lying on the side should feel comfortable and safe. Partners who want more space to stretch out typically appreciate strong edges.
Lying down, I feel like I can get close to the edge of the mattress without feeling like I will fall over or be ejected from the bed. Overall, I believe that the Helix has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of buying a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they usually include. Helix Sleep is not any different. You create the mattress that is meant for you, place your order, and in 2 weeks, it is delivered to your home. From the minute you click to order the mattress, you have 100 nights to test it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it isn’t ideal, you can return it for free of charge, and receive a complete refund.
Should you return the mattress, it is not restocked or resold. In fact, Helix Sleep locates a local place to donate it. When there is no way the company can find a way to donate your returned mattress, it is recycled instead. Helix Investors
The Helix Mattress includes a generous 10-year warranty that covers flaws, but it has some limitations, exceptions, and the burden of proof is on the customer (like most warranties). Needless to say, you must be the first owner of the Helix to make use of the warranty, and you need to be sure you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all of Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty will be valid. That means you will need to use a suitable base (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4” apart) and you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your Helix starts to have an indentation of 1” or longer, which is what generally happens when low-density foams break down, you could be eligible for a replacement or repair of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no flipping, but it is recommended that you rotate the mattress perhaps once or twice a year to prevent it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For regular cleanup, it’s advised to use cool water along gentle dish detergent to clean any dirt or stains. Make certain to wash using gentle circular movements, instead of rubbing.

The features of this mattress were thoughtfully manufactured to deliver options whether you were looking for a mattress that stays cool all night, if you wanted one to support your curves with a thick comfort system, or both!
