Helix Sleep sells hybrid mattresses made with polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores fortified using polyfoam base layers. Helix Hybrid Reviews
Helix Sleep offers full mattress customization. Buyers are requested to fill out a questionnaire that discusses their height, weight, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other options. Based on these results, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following 6 mattress variants; each respective model provides a one-of-a-kind combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep mattresses that have targeted cushioning conform closely, making them ideal for those who sleep on their side. While those that have moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are suitable for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter men and women may feel most comfortable on models with balanced support, while individuals that weigh 130 pounds or more tend to prefer the models with additional support.
Helix Sleep also offers 2 models with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and additional support). Both these models have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, which makes them suitable for couples with differing tastes. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for bigger, heavier individuals. This mattress has an extra layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable aspect conforms to sleepers with a wide assortment of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also offer strong edge support, isolate motion transfer well, and create less noise than the average hybrid. Helix Hybrid Reviews

Construction Helix Hybrid Reviews
All nine of the different iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction should be fairly similar. The six core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in density and firmness based on the foams used in order to get more/less support and more/less firmness. The 4 unique foams utilized within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the beds have all the foams – some just have 3 of the 4 – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the purchaser. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer nine distinct models (and supposedly have a mattress for everybody). Helix Hybrid Reviews
Below, I concisely talk about the construction (materials and quality) of the typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses come with exactly the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I thought it to be thin and pliable, allowing for some nice breathability. But, if you want something more lavish, you can opt to swap out the standard cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase-change material for temperature regulation.
Comfort Layer – On top, you’ll encounter a thick layer of memory foam. This material has a slow reaction to pressure, which means you are probably going to encounter some great body shaping. Even though it may seem odd for a purportedly medium firm bed to feature a memory foam layer, it is crucial to remember that the feeling of deep sinkage does not always translate to softness; in fact, oftentimes it produces quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the comfort layer, you’ll find a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to curb the sinkage of the comfort layer and set a supportive, medium firm feel as you hit the pocketed coils below.
Support Layer – The bulk of the mattress consists of this section of pocketed coils. This system brings a supportive lift into the structure, working to put the sleeper “on top” of the bed, as opposed to “in it”. Because the coils are wrapped individually, they are also likely to allow extra breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last, you will uncover a thin section of high-density poly foam. This section does not really affect the feel of the mattress too much, functioning mostly to provide the individually wrapped coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After taking a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us discuss their different feels and firmness levels.
The firmness level of the Helix is going to vary widely depending on which model you pick out. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have medium firmness levels, which is going to be very versatile and therefore exceptionally popular. If you have more specific preferences, however, Helix Sleep would be happy to provide you with more choices.
Lying down on the Helix Midnight, the memory foam comfort layer feels soft and produces some top quality body contouring, while the other materials in the Midnight work to control this and make an overall firmer structure. The individually-wrapped coils and the firmer support foams also help with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there is enough good comfort material here to conform to your lower spine while supporting your back in a neutral position. For heavier sleepers or those who prefer a firmer bed, there are two more choices for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn variants.
Many side sleepers will feel perfectly comfortable on the Midnight, however, if you are wanting less pressure while still sticking with a versatile medium firmness, you may want to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and provides the surface a small bit of bounce.
Side sleepers typically have to be mindful of pressure because they sleep with all of their weight on a smaller area. Those who are lighter than average or those in the market for a lot of pressure relief may want to stick to the plusher variants.
Those who sleep on their stomach will feel comfortable in the Midnight, particularly if this is not their primary position or they tend to change things up a lot. Firmer choices might be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so that they can make sure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their back.
Lastly, the manufacturer recommends Helix for sleepers up to 350 pounds or partners who weigh a maximum of 250 lbs each. If you or your spouse are substantially larger than average, Helix has also produced a mattress called the Nightfall that is created to accommodate a total weight of 1000 pounds.
Couples with different body types or preferences may also pick a dual comfort model that combines Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if none of those models seem right, you could always have a look at the four other variants in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, slightly firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest mattress in the collection).
Next up, let us chat about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that is noticeable from 1 side of the mattress to the other. While this is going to be significant for many people, those who doze with a partner may find it particularly interesting as it will illuminate just how bothered you’ll be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Helix Hybrid Reviews
According to my research, Helix Sleep exceeds expectations for hybrids in this space due to the amount and quality of foam it contains, as well as the pocketed coils which help keep motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper concerned that movement from the opposite side of the mattress will bother you, you shouldn’t have a lot of concern with this mattress. I’d say that all of the Helix mattresses are a good choice for couples.
When purchasing a brand-new mattress, most people would like to know whether they’ll feel as though they’re sinking “into” the it or laying “on top” of it.
While you may experience some immediate sinkage from the soft foam at the top, when you sink through those layers, you will hit the individually-wrapped coils and experience fantastic support. This combo will interest a wide assortment of individuals, but will suit stomach and back sleepers the most.
Though I do feel the memory foam collapse as I sit close to the edge of the mattress, the pocketed coils stop the mattress from compressing a lot beyond that. I feel quite secure seated on the bed.
In my view, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is because of their newly updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil unit. There may be a little compression at the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but laying on the side will feel comfortable and safe. Couples who need more space to stretch out normally love strong edges.
Lying down, I also feel like I could get near the edge of the mattress without feeling like I will roll off or be ejected from the bed. Overall, I believe that the Helix has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of purchasing a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they typically include. Helix is not any different. You create the mattress that’s made for you, place your order, and in two weeks, it is delivered to your home. From the moment you click to buy the mattress, you have 100 nights to try it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it isn’t ideal, you can return it free of charge, and get a complete refund.
Should you return the mattress, it isn’t resold or restocked. In fact, the company locates a local place to donate it. When there’s no way Helix Sleep can find a way to donate your returned mattress, it is recycled instead. Helix Hybrid Reviews
Helix Sleep offers an awesome 10-year guarantee that covers flaws, but it comes with limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the customer (like most guarantees ). Needless to say, you should be the first owner of the mattress to use the warranty, and you need to be sure that you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you need to use a suitable foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4 inches apart) and you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your Helix starts to show an indentation of 1 inch or more, something that generally happens when low-density foams break down, then you could qualify for a repair or replacement of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no flipping, but it is suggested that you rotate the mattress perhaps a couple of times a year to keep it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For regular cleanup, it’s suggested to use cold water with gentle dish soap to clean any stains or dirt. Be sure to wash using soft circular motions, instead of rubbing.

The features of the Helix were thoughtfully manufactured to deliver options whether you were searching for a mattress that keeps cool all night, if you needed one to cradle your shape with a thick comfort system, or both! The pocketed coil unit should offer great edge support and movement transfer is at a minimum with their individually-wrapped construction.
