Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses manufactured using polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores enhanced with polyfoam base layers. Helix Full Mattress
Helix Sleep allows complete mattress customization. Customers are requested to fill out a survey that discusses their height, weight, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other options. Then based on these answers, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following six mattress models; each individual option gives a one-of-a-kind combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep hybrids with targeted cushioning conform closely, making them perfect for side sleepers. While those with moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are suitable for all sleep positions. Lighter people may feel more comfy on variants with balanced support, while people that weigh 130 pounds or more tend to prefer the variants with additional support.
Helix Sleep also offers two mattresses with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and additional support). Both these models have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, which makes them suitable for couples with differing preferences. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for larger, heavier individuals. This variant has an extra layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable selection conforms to sleepers with a wide range of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also provide strong edge support, isolate motion transfer well, and produce less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Full Mattress

Construction Helix Full Mattress
All nine of the various iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction should be fairly similar. The 6 core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in firmness and density based on the foams used in order to attain more/less firmness and more/less support. The four unique foams utilized within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the mattresses have all the foams – some only have three of the four – but it really won’t matter much for the consumer. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer 9 unique variants (and supposedly have a model for everyone). Helix Full Mattress
Below, I quickly talk about the construction (materials and quality) of the typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses come with exactly the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I found it to be thin and pliable, allowing for some wonderful breathability. However, if you would like something more amped up, you can opt to swap out the regular cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase-change material for heat regulation.
Comfort Layer – On top, you’ll find a heavy layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow reaction to pressure, which means you’re likely to encounter some gratifying body shaping. Even though it may seem strange for a supposedly medium firm bed to feature a memory foam layer, it’s crucial to remember that the presence of deep sinkage does not necessarily translate to softness; in actuality, oftentimes it generates quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After getting past the comfort layer, you will find a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to suppress the sinkage of the comfort layer and establish a supportive, medium firm feel as you hit the pocketed coils below.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress is made up of this section of pocketed coils. This system brings a supportive lift into the structure, working to position the sleeper “on top” of the bed, instead of “in it”. Since the coils are wrapped individually, they’re also likely to allow additional breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last, you will discover a thin section of high-density poly foam. This layer doesn’t affect the feel of the bed too much, working mostly to give the individually wrapped coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After taking a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us chat about their varying firmness levels and feels.
The firmness of the Helix will differ widely depending on the variant you select. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have medium firmness levels, which tends to be quite versatile and thus best-selling. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep is happy to oblige you with more options.
Laying down on the Helix Midnight, the uppermost foam layer is soft and generates some top quality body shaping, while the rest of the materials within the Midnight work to control this and make an overall firmer structure. The pocketed coils and the firmer support foams also help with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there’s enough good comfort material in the Midnight to conform to your lower spine while supporting your whole back in a neutral position. For larger buyers or those who want a firmer mattress, there are 2 more choices for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn variants.
Many side sleepers should feel totally comfy on the Midnight, however, if you’re needing less pressure while still sticking with a flexible medium firmness, you may decide to check out the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and provides the surface a small bit of bounce.
Side sleepers typically need to be more mindful of pressure because they sleep with most their weight on a smaller region. Those who are smaller than average or those in the market for plenty of pressure relief may want to stay with the plusher variants.
Stomach sleepers will feel comfortable in the Midnight, particularly if this isn’t their primary position or they have a tendency to switch things up a lot. Firmer choices might be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so they can make sure their hips do not dip and over-arch their back.
Lastly, the manufacturer recommends Helix for sleepers around 350 pounds or couples that weigh a maximum of 250 pounds each. In the event you or your spouse are significantly bigger than average, Helix has also created a mattress called the Nightfall that is constructed to accommodate a total weight of 1000 pounds.
Couples with differing body types or preferences may also select a dual comfort variant that combines Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if none of those models seem right, you can always have a look at the four other mattresses in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, a little firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest mattress in the collection).
Now, let us chat about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that is noticeable from 1 side of the bed to the other. While this is going to be significant for all people, those who sleep with a spouse may find it particularly interesting as it’ll show just how bothered you’ll be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Based on my observation, Helix Sleep surpasses expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space because of the quantity and quality of foam it incorporates, as well as the pocketed coils which help keep motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper concerned that motion from the opposite side of the mattress will wake you, then you shouldn’t have a lot of concern with this hybrid. I’d say that any of the Helix mattresses are a good option for couples.
While buying a new mattress, most individuals would like to know whether they’ll feel as though they are sinking “into” the mattress or lying “on top” of it.
Even though you’re going to experience a little immediate sinkage in the soft foam on top, when you sink through those layers, you will find the individually-wrapped coils and experience great support. This combo will appeal to a wide assortment of individuals, but will satisfy stomach and back sleepers in particular.
While I do feel the memory foam compress as I sit close to the edge of the mattress, the coils stop the mattress from collapsing too much beyond that. I feel quite secure sitting on the mattress.
In my view, Helix mattresses perform above average for edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is due to their newly updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil unit. There may be a little compression at the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but laying on the side will feel comfortable and secure. Partners who need more space to stretch out typically appreciate stronger edges.
Lying down, I feel like I can get near the edge of the mattress without feeling like I will fall off or be ejected from the mattress. Overall, I believe that the Helix has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of buying a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they typically come with. Helix Mattress is no different. You create the mattress that’s made for you, place your order, and within 2 weeks, it is sent to your door. From the minute you click to buy the mattress, you have 100 nights to check it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it is not what you wanted, you can return it for free of charge, and receive a full refund.
If you do return the mattress, it isn’t restocked or resold. Actually, Helix Sleep locates a local place to donate it. When there is no way Helix can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, they have it recycled instead. Helix Full Mattress
Helix Sleep offers a generous 10-year warranty that covers flaws, but it has limitations, exceptions, plus the burden of proof is on the customer (like most guarantees ). Of course, you should be the first owner of the mattress to use the guarantee, and you need to be sure you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all of Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty will be valid. That means you will need to use a suitable base (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4” apart) and you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your Helix starts to have an indentation of 1 inch or longer, which is what typically happens when low-density foams break down, you could be eligible for a replacement or repair of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no turning, but it is recommended that you rotate the mattress possibly a couple of times a year to keep it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For routine cleanup, it is advised to use cool water with gentle dish detergent to clean any dirt or stains. Be sure that you wash using gentle circular movements, rather than rubbing.
