Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses manufactured using polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores reinforced using polyfoam base layers. Helix Clipart
Helix Sleep gives you complete mattress customization. Customers are urged to complete a questionnaire that asks for their weight, height, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other options. Then based on these answers, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following six mattress models; each respective model offers a one-of-a-kind combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep hybrids with targeted cushioning conform closely, making them perfect for those who sleep on their side. While those that have moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are great for all sleep positions. Lighter people may feel more comfy on models with balanced support, while people that weigh 130 lbs or more tend to prefer the variants with additional support.
Helix Sleep also offers two variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and additional support). Both these variants have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, which makes them suitable for couples with differing preferences. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for bigger, heavier individuals. This mattress has an additional layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses found that the customizable selection conforms to sleepers with a wide variety of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also provide strong edge support, isolate motion transfer nicely, and create less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Clipart

Construction Helix Clipart
All nine of the different iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction should be quite similar. The six core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in density and firmness depending on the foams utilized in order to attain more/less firmness and more/less support. The 4 unique foams used within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the variants have all the foams – some only have three of the four – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the purchaser. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer 9 distinct versions (and supposedly have a mattress for everybody). Helix Clipart
Below, I briefly talk about the construction (materials and quality) of the typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses have the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I found it to be thin and stretchy, allowing for some great breathability. But, if you prefer something more amped up, you can opt to swap out the normal cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase change material for temperature regulation.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you will find a heavy layer of memory foam. This material has a slow response to pressure, which means you’re probably going to experience some great body shaping. Even though it may seem strange for a purportedly medium firmness bed to feature a memory foam layer, it’s important to remember that the presence of deep sinkage doesn’t always translate to softness; in fact, most of the time it produces quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the comfort layer, you will uncover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to curb the sinkage of the memory foam and set a supportive, medium firm feeling as you reach the pocketed coils underneath.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress consists of this segment of pocketed coils. This system brings a supportive lift into the construction, working to position the sleeper “on top” of the bed, as opposed to “in it”. Because the coils are individually wrapped, they are also likely to encourage extra breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last, you’ll discover a thin section of high-density poly foam. This section does not affect the feel of the mattress too much, functioning mostly to give the individually wrapped coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After having a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us chat about their varying firmness levels and feels.
The firmness level of the Helix is going to differ widely depending on the variant you choose. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have medium firmness levels, which is going to be quite versatile and therefore very popular. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep is happy to provide you with additional choices.
Laying down on the Helix Midnight, the uppermost foam layer is soft and generates some high quality body contouring, while the rest of the materials within the mattress work to control this and create an overall firmer composition. The pocketed coils and the firmer support foams also help with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there is just enough good comfort material here to conform to your lower spine while supporting your whole upper spine in a neutral position. For larger sleepers or those who want a firmer mattress, there are two more options for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn variants.
Most side sleepers should feel perfectly comfortable on the Midnight, however, if you’re wanting less pressure while still sticking with a versatile medium firmness, you may decide to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and gives the surface a small bit of bounce.
Side sleepers typically need to be mindful of pressure because they sleep with most of their weight on a tinier region. People who are lighter than average or people in the market for a lot of pressure relief might want to stick to the plusher variants.
Stomach sleepers should feel supported in the Midnight, particularly if this is not their main position or they have a tendency to switch things up a lot. Firmer choices might be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so they can make sure their hips do not dip and over-arch their backbone.
Last, Helix Sleep suggests Helix for sleepers around 350 lbs or partners who weigh up to 250 lbs each. In the event you or your partner are significantly larger than average, Helix has also produced a bed called the Nightfall that is built to accommodate a total weight of 1000 pounds.
Couples with different types of bodies or preferences may also pick a dual comfort option that pairs Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if neither of those options feel quite right, you could always check out the four other beds in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, a little firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest mattress of the bunch).
Next up, let’s talk about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that is detectable from 1 side of the mattress to the other. While this is going to be crucial for many buyers, those who sleep with a partner may find it particularly intriguing as it will illuminate just how bothered you’ll be by your partner’s nighttime movements. Based on my observation, Helix exceeds expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space due to the quantity and quality of foam it incorporates, in addition to the pocketed coils which help keep motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper afraid that movement from the other side of the bed will bother you, you should not have much concern with this hybrid. I’d say that any of the Helix mattresses are a good option for couples.
While purchasing a new mattress, most individuals wish to know whether they’ll feel like they are sinking “into” the it or lying “on top” of it.
While you may encounter a little immediate sinkage in the soft foam on top, when you sink through those layers, you are going to hit the individually-wrapped coils and experience amazing support. This combination will appeal to a vast range of sleepers, but will suit stomach and back sleepers the most.
Though I do feel the memory foam compress as I sit close to the edge of the bed, the pocketed coils stop the mattress from compressing too much beyond that. I feel very secure seated on the mattress.
In my view, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is because of their recently updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil unit. There can be some compression at the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but lying on the side should feel comfy and secure. Couples who want more space to stretch out typically appreciate strong edges.
Lying down, I feel like I can get near the edge of the mattress without feeling like I’ll roll over or be pushed off the mattress. Overall, I think that the Helix mattress has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of buying a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they typically come with. Helix Mattress is no different. You create the mattress that is meant for you, place your order, and within 2 weeks, it’s delivered to your door. From the moment you click to purchase the mattress, you have 100 nights to try it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it is not what you wanted, you can return it free of charge, and receive a complete refund.
Should you return the mattress, it isn’t restocked or resold. Actually, the company finds a local place to donate it. When there’s no way Helix can find a way to donate your returned mattress, they have it recycled instead. Helix Clipart
Helix offers an amazing 10-year warranty that covers defects, but it comes with some limitations, exceptions, plus the burden of proof is on the purchaser (like most warranties). Of course, you must be the original owner of the mattress to make use of the guarantee, and you need to be sure you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all of the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you will need to have a suitable foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4” apart) and you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on it!
If your Helix starts to have an indentation of 1” or longer, something that generally happens when low-density foams break down, you could qualify for a replacement or repair of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no flipping, but it is recommended that you rotate the mattress possibly a couple of times a year to prevent it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For regular cleaning, it’s suggested to use cold water with gentle dish soap to clean any dirt or stains. Be certain that you clean using gentle circular motions, rather than rubbing.
