Helix Sleep sells hybrid mattresses manufactured using dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores reinforced with polyfoam base layers. Helix Cleaning
Helix Sleep gives you full mattress customization. Buyers are requested to fill out a survey that discusses their weight, height, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other factors. Then based on these results, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following 6 mattress models; each respective variant gives a one-of-a-kind combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep mattresses that have targeted cushioning conform closely, making them optimal for those who sleep on their side. While those that have moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are ideal for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter men and women may feel more comfy on models with balanced support, while those who weigh 130 pounds or more tend to prefer the models with extra support.
Helix Sleep also offers two variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and additional support). Both of these models have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, making them suitable for couples with different tastes. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for larger, heavier individuals. This mattress has an extra layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable selection accommodates sleepers with a wide variety of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also provide strong edge support, isolate motion transfer nicely, and produce less noise than the average hybrid. Helix Cleaning

Construction Helix Cleaning
All nine of the different iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction will be quite similar. The 6 core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in density and firmness depending upon the foams utilized in order to attain more/less firmness and more/less support. The 4 different foams utilized within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the models have all the foams – some just have 3 of the 4 – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the buyer. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer 9 distinct models (and hopefully have a mattress for everyone). Helix Cleaning
Below, I briefly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of your average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses have exactly the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I found it to be pliable and thin, allowing for some wonderful breathability. But, if you want something more luxurious, you can elect to swap out the normal cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase-change fabric for temperature regulation.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you’ll discover a thick layer of memory foam. This material has a slow response to pressure, meaning you’re probably going to encounter some satisfying body shaping. Even though it may seem odd for a purportedly medium firm mattress to make use of a memory foam layer, it’s important to remember that the presence of deep sinkage doesn’t necessarily translate to softness; in fact, most of the time it produces quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After getting past the comfort layer, you’ll find a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to suppress the sinkage of the memory foam and create a supportive, medium firm feeling as you reach the individually wrapped coils below.
Support Layer – The majority of the mattress is made up of this segment of pocketed coils. This system brings a supportive lift to the structure, working to put the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, instead of “in it”. Since these coils are wrapped individually, they’re also likely to give additional breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last, you will find a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This layer doesn’t affect the feel of the mattress too much, functioning mostly to give the individually wrapped coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After having a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us discuss their varying feels and firmness levels.
The firmness level of the Helix will vary widely depending on which variant you pick out. The Helix Dusk and Midnight, have moderate firmness levels, which is going to be quite versatile and thus exceptionally popular. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep is happy to oblige you with more options.
Lying down on the Midnight, the memory foam comfort layer is soft and generates some top quality body shaping, while the rest of the materials within the mattress work to counteract this and create an overall firmer structure. The individually-wrapped coils and the firmer support foams also assist with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there is enough good comfort material here to conform to your lower spine while supporting your back in a neutral position. For heavier sleepers or people who want a firmer bed, there are two more options for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight models.
Many side sleepers will feel perfectly comfortable on the Midnight, but, if you’re wanting less pressure while still going with a flexible medium firmness, you might decide to check out the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and gives the surface a small bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically have to be mindful of pressure because they sleep with most of their weight on a tinier region. Those who are lighter than average or people in the market for plenty of pressure relief might want to stay with the plusher variants.
Those who sleep on their stomach should feel comfortable in the Midnight, particularly if this is not their primary position or they have a tendency to switch things up a lot. Firmer mattresses may be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so they can ensure their hips do not dip and over-arch their back.
Last, Helix Sleep recommends Helix mattresses for sleepers up to 350 pounds or couples that weigh up to 250 pounds each. If you or your partner are substantially larger than average, the company has also created a mattress called the Nightfall that’s created to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 lbs.
Partners with differing body types or preferences may also select a dual comfort variant that pairs Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if none of these options sound quite right, you may always check out the four other mattresses in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, slightly firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest variant in the line).
Now, let us talk about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that’s noticeable from one side of the bed to the other. While this is going to be important for all people, those who doze with a spouse may find it particularly intriguing as it will illuminate just how bothered you may be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Helix Cleaning
Based on my observation, Helix Sleep surpasses expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space due to the amount and quality of foam it incorporates, as well as the pocketed coils that help trap motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper worried that movement from the opposite side of the mattress will bother you, you should not have a lot of concern with this hybrid. I’d say that any of the Helix mattresses would be a good option for couples.
When buying a new mattress, the majority of men and women want to know whether they’ll feel like they’re sinking “into” the it or laying “on top” of it.
While you may encounter some immediate sinkage from the uppermost foam layers, when you sink through those layers, you’ll reach the pocketed coils and find fantastic support. This combo will appeal to a wide assortment of individuals, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers the most.
While I do feel the memory foam compress as I sit close to the edge of the mattress, the individually-wrapped coils stop the mattress from collapsing too much beyond that. I feel very secure sitting on the mattress.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses are well above average when it comes to edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is because of their freshly updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil system. There may be some compression in the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but lying on the side should feel comfortable and secure. Partners who want more space to stretch out normally love stronger edges.
Laying down, I feel like I can get close to the edge of the mattress without feeling like I’ll roll over or be ejected from the mattress. Overall, I think that the Helix has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of purchasing a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they usually come with. Helix is not any different. You customize the mattress that’s meant for you, place your order, and in two weeks, it is delivered to your home. From the moment you click to purchase the mattress, you have 100 nights to check it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it isn’t ideal, you can return it free of charge, and receive a complete refund.
If you do return the mattress, it is not resold or restocked. Actually, the company does its best to locate a local place to donate it. If there’s no way Helix can find a way to donate your returned mattress, it is recycled instead. Helix Cleaning
The Helix Mattress includes an awesome 10-year guarantee that covers defects, but it comes with some limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the purchaser (like most guarantees ). Of course, you must be the original owner of the Helix to use the guarantee, and you will need to be sure you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty should be valid. That means you will need to have a suitable foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4 inches apart) and you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your mattress starts to show an indentation of 1” or more, which is what usually happens when low-density foams break down, then you could be eligible for a repair or replacement of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no flipping, but it’s suggested that you rotate the mattress possibly a couple of times a year to keep it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For routine cleaning, it is suggested to use cool water along gentle dish soap to clean any dirt or stains. Make sure to wash using soft circular movements, instead of rubbing.
Final Thoughts Helix Cleaning
If you’re shopping for a mattress and are not quite certain what feel that you require, Helix’s quiz and Color Match system might be the key to finding your best sleep with little hassle. Their amazing system, which relies on expert opinions and artificial intelligence, was designed to improve their customer’s sleep by providing a better match. Helix Cleaning
The features of the Helix were thoughtfully constructed to provide choices whether you were looking for a mattress that stays cool all night, if you needed one to support your curves with a thick comfort system, or both! The pocketed coil unit should provide amazing edge support and movement transfer is minimal with their individually-wrapped construction.
Hopefully, I have given you some idea of what the typical sleeper can expect from the Helix, but it does offer a sensational range of customization with an option for literally every specific need or desire. Your next best sleep might just be a brief online quiz away.
