Helix Sleep markets hybrid mattresses made with polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores enhanced with polyfoam base layers. Helix Cat Scratching Post
Helix Sleep gives you full mattress customization. Purchasers are asked to fill out a survey that discusses their weight, height, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other factors. Based on these results, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following 6 mattress options; each respective variant offers a unique combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep mattresses that have targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them optimal for side sleepers. While those that have moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are suitable for all sleep positions. Lighter men and women may feel more comfy on variants with balanced support, while those who weigh 130 lbs or more tend to prefer the variants with additional support.
Helix Sleep also offers two variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and extra support). Both of these mattresses have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, making them great for couples with different preferences. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for bigger, heavier individuals. This variant has an extra layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable aspect accommodates sleepers with a wide assortment of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also offer strong edge support, isolate movement nicely, and produce less noise than the average hybrid. Helix Cat Scratching Post

Construction Helix Cat Scratching Post
All nine of the different iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction should be rather similar. The 6 core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in firmness and density based upon the foams utilized in order to attain more/less firmness and more/less support. The 4 different foams used within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the variants have all of the foams – some just have 3 of the 4 – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the purchaser. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull to be able to offer nine different variants (and hopefully have a model for everyone). Helix Cat Scratching Post
Below, I briefly talk about the construction (materials and quality) of the typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses have the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I found it to be thin and stretchy, allowing for some nice breathability. But, if you would like something more luxurious, you can opt to swap out the regular cover for the UltraCool one, which is made up of a phase-change fabric to regulate heat.
Comfort Layer – On top, you will encounter a heavy layer of memory foam. This material has a slow response to pressure, meaning you are likely to experience some satisfying body contouring. While it might seem odd for a supposedly medium firmness bed to feature a memory foam comfort layer, it is important to remember that the feeling of deep sinkage does not necessarily translate to softness; in fact, most of the time it gives quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the comfort layer, you will discover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to suppress the sinkage of the comfort layer and set a supportive, medium firm feel as you reach the pocketed coils below.
Support Layer – The majority of the mattress consists of this segment of pocketed coils. This system brings a supportive lift into the structure, working to place the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, instead of “in it”. Because the coils are individually wrapped, they are also going to allow additional breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last, you will discover a thin section of high-density poly foam. This section does not affect the feel of the mattress too much, working mostly to provide the pocketed coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After having a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us talk about their different feels and firmness levels.
The firmness level of the Helix is going to vary widely depending on the version you pick out. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which will be very versatile and therefore best-selling. If you have more specific needs, however, Helix Sleep is happy to provide you with additional options.
Lying down on the Midnight, the uppermost foam comfort layer feels soft and generates some top quality body shaping, while the rest of the materials within the mattress work to control this and make an overall firmer composition. The pocketed coils and the firmer support foams also help with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there is enough good comfort material in the Midnight to conform to your lower spine while supporting your whole back in a neutral position. For larger sleepers or those who want a firmer mattress, there are two more choices for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight models.
Majority of side sleepers will feel perfectly comfy on the Midnight, however, if you’re wanting less pressure while still sticking with a versatile medium firmness, you might decide to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and gives the surface a small bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically need to be mindful of pressure since they sleep with all of their weight on a tinier area. People who are smaller than average or those looking for a lot of pressure relief might want to stick to the plusher variants.
Those who sleep on their stomach will feel supported in the Midnight, particularly if this is not their primary position or they tend to change things up a lot. Firmer choices may be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so they can make sure their hips do not dip and over-arch their backbone.
Last, Helix Sleep recommends Helix mattresses for sleepers around 350 lbs or partners that weigh a maximum of 250 pounds each. If you or your spouse are substantially larger than average, Helix has also produced a mattress called the Nightfall that’s built to accommodate a total weight of 1000 lbs.
Couples with differing types of bodies or tastes may also pick a dual comfort variant that pairs Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if neither of those options feel right, you could always have a look at the four other models in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, slightly firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest mattress in the collection).
Now, let’s chat about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that is noticeable from 1 side of the mattress to the other. While this will be crucial for all buyers, those who sleep with a spouse may find it particularly interesting as it will illuminate just how bothered you may be by your partner’s nighttime movements. Helix Cat Scratching Post
Based on my observation, Helix Sleep exceeds expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space due to the amount and quality of foam it incorporates, in addition to the individually wrapped coils that help trap motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper concerned that movement from the opposite side of the mattress will wake you, you should not have much concern with this mattress. I would say that all of the Helix mattresses are a good option for couples.
While getting a brand-new mattress, the majority of people would like to know whether they’ll feel as though they’re sinking “into” the it or lying “on top” of it.
While you are likely to encounter some immediate sinkage from the uppermost foam layers, when you sink through those layers, you will find the individually-wrapped coils and experience fantastic support. This combination will interest a wide assortment of sleepers, but will suit back and stomach sleepers in particular.
While I do feel the memory foam compress as I sit close to the edge of the Helix Midnight, the individually-wrapped coils stop the mattress from compressing a lot beyond that. I feel quite secure sitting on the bed.
In my view, Helix mattresses perform above average for edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is due to their newly updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil system. There can be some compression at the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but lying on the side will feel comfy and safe. Partners who want more space to stretch out normally love strong edges.
Lying down, I feel like I could get near the edge of the bed without feeling like I’ll fall off or be pushed off the mattress. Overall, I think that the Helix mattress has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of buying a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they usually include. Helix is not any different. You customize the mattress that’s intended for you, place your order, and in 2 weeks, it is sent to your home. From the minute you click to purchase the mattress, you have 100 nights to check it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it is not ideal, you can return it free of charge, and get a full refund.
Should you return the mattress, it is not resold or restocked. Actually, Helix locates a local place to donate it. When there is no way Helix Sleep can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, they have it recycled instead. Helix Cat Scratching Post
Helix offers an amazing 10-year warranty that covers flaws, but it comes with a few limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the customer (like most warranties). Needless to say, you should be the original owner of the Helix to make use of the warranty, and you will need to be sure that you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty should be valid. That means you need to use a suitable foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4 inches apart) and you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on it!
If your Helix starts to have an indentation of 1” or longer, which is what typically happens when low-density foams break down, you could qualify for a replacement or repair of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no flipping, but it is recommended that you rotate the mattress perhaps once or twice a year to keep it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For regular cleanup, it’s advised to use cold water along gentle dish soap to clean any dirt or stains. Make sure that you clean using soft circular movements, instead of rubbing.

If you are shopping for a mattress and aren’t quite certain what feel that you require, Helix’s Color Match system and quiz may be the secret to finding your very best sleep with no hassle. Their awesome system, which relies on expert sentiment and artificial intelligence, was designed to improve their client’s sleep by offering a better match. Helix Cat Scratching Post
The attributes of the Helix were thoughtfully constructed to provide options whether you were looking for a mattress that keeps cool all night, if you needed one to support your curves with a thick comfort system, or both! The coil unit should offer good edge support and motion transfer is at a minimum with their individually-wrapped build.
