Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses manufactured using dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores enhanced using polyfoam base layers. Helix Brands Customer Service
Helix Sleep allows full mattress customization. Buyers are urged to complete a questionnaire that discusses their weight, height, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other elements. Then based on these answers, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following six mattress options; each respective model gives a one-of-a-kind combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep mattresses that have targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them optimal for those who sleep on their side. While those that have moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are ideal for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter people may feel more comfy on models with balanced support, while people who weigh 130 lbs or more often favor the variants with additional support.
Helix Sleep also offers two mattresses with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and extra support). Both of these models have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, making them ideal for couples with differing preferences. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for larger, heavier people. This variant has an additional layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses found that the customizable selection accommodates sleepers with a wide range of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate motion transfer nicely, and produce less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Brands Customer Service

Construction Helix Brands Customer Service
All 9 of the different iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction should be quite similar. The six core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in density and firmness depending on the foams utilized in order to achieve more/less support and more/less firmness. The four different foams used within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the models have all of the foams – some only have 3 of the 4 – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the buyer. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer 9 different variants (and supposedly have a model for everyone). Helix Brands Customer Service
Below, I briefly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of your typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses have exactly the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I found it to be thin and pliable, allowing for some nice breathability. However, if you would like something more lavish, you can opt to swap out the regular cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase change material for temperature regulation.
Comfort Layer – On top, you’ll discover a heavy layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow reaction to pressure, meaning you are likely to experience some great body contouring. While it might seem strange for a purportedly medium firm mattress to feature a memory foam comfort layer, it’s crucial to remember that the existence of deep sinkage doesn’t necessarily translate to softness; in actuality, oftentimes it gives quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After getting past the comfort layer, you’ll find a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to suppress the sinkage of the memory foam and set a supportive, medium firm feeling as you reach the individually wrapped coils below.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress consists of this segment of pocketed coils. This system gives a supportive lift into the construction, working to place the sleeper “on top” of the bed, as opposed to “in it”. Since the coils are wrapped individually, they’re also going to encourage additional breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Lastly, you will discover a thin section of high-density poly foam. This layer doesn’t affect the feel of the mattress too much, functioning mostly to provide the pocketed coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After taking a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s talk about their different firmness levels and feels.
The firmness level of the Helix will vary widely depending on the model you select. The Helix Dusk and Midnight, have moderate firmness levels, which is going to be quite versatile and therefore best-selling. If you have more specific requirements, however, Helix Sleep is happy to provide you with more choices.
Lying down on the Helix Midnight, the uppermost foam layer is soft and generates some top quality body shaping, while the rest of the materials in the mattress work to control this and make an overall firmer structure. The firmer support foams and pocketed coils also help with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there’s just enough good comfort material here to conform to your lumbar while supporting your upper spine in a neutral position. For larger sleepers or those who prefer a firmer mattress, there are two more models for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight models.
Most side sleepers will feel totally comfy on the Midnight, but, if you are wanting a bit less pressure while still going with a versatile medium firmness, you may decide to check out the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and gives the surface a little bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically need to be more mindful of pressure because they sleep with most of their weight on a smaller region. Those who are smaller than average or people looking for a lot of pressure relief may want to stick to the plusher models.
Those who sleep on their stomach should feel comfortable in the Midnight, especially if this isn’t their main position or they tend to switch things up a lot. Firmer choices may be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so they can make sure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their back.
Last, the manufacturer suggests Helix for sleepers around 350 pounds or partners who weigh a maximum of 250 lbs each. In the event you or your spouse are substantially bigger than average, the company has also created a bed called the Nightfall that’s built to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 pounds.
Couples with differing types of bodies or preferences can also select a dual comfort model that combines Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if neither of those options sound quite right, you may always have a look at the four other variants in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, a little firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest option in the line).
Next up, let’s chat about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that is noticeable from 1 side of the mattress to the other. While this will be significant for all buyers, those who sleep with a partner may find it especially intriguing as it’ll show just how bothered you will be by your partner’s nighttime movements. Helix Brands Customer Service
Based on my observation, Helix Sleep surpasses expectations for hybrids in this space because of the amount and quality of foam it incorporates, as well as the pocketed coils that help trap motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper afraid that movement from the opposite side of the bed will wake you, then you shouldn’t have a lot of concern with this hybrid. I’d say that any of the Helix mattresses would be a good option for couples.
When getting a new mattress, most individuals wish to know whether they’ll feel as though they are sinking “into” the mattress or lying “on top” of it.
While you may encounter some immediate sinkage in the soft foam at the top, when you sink through those layers, you will find the individually-wrapped coils and find amazing support. This combination will appeal to a wide range of sleepers, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers the most.
Though I do feel the memory foam collapse as I sit near the edge of the bed, the coils stop the mattress from collapsing too much beyond that. I feel quite secure seated on the bed.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses are well above average for edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is due to their freshly updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil unit. There may be a little compression in the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but laying on the side should feel comfy and safe. Partners who want more space to stretch out normally love stronger edges.
Lying down, I also feel like I could get close to the edge of the bed without feeling like I will fall over or be ejected from the mattress. Overall, I think the Helix has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of buying a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they usually include. Helix is not any different. You customize the mattress that’s intended for you, place your order, and in two weeks, it is sent to your home. From the minute you click to buy the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to test it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it isn’t perfect, you can return it for free of charge, and get a complete refund.
If you do return the mattress, it is not resold or restocked. In fact, Helix Sleep finds a local place to donate it. If there is no way Helix Sleep can find a way to donate your returned mattress, it is recycled instead. Helix Brands Customer Service
Helix Sleep offers a generous 10-year warranty that covers defects, but it has some limitations, exceptions, and the burden of proof is on the consumer (like most guarantees ). Needless to say, you must be the original owner of the mattress to use the warranty, and you need to be sure that you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty will be valid. That means you will need to use a proper foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4 inches apart) and you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on it!
If your Helix begins to have an indentation of 1” or longer, which is what generally happens when low-density foams break down, you could qualify for a repair or replacement of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no flipping, but it is recommended that you rotate the mattress possibly once or twice a year to prevent it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For routine cleaning, it’s advised to use cool water along gentle dish soap to clean any dirt or stains. Be sure to wash using soft circular motions, instead of rubbing.
