Helix Sleep sells hybrid mattresses manufactured using dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores reinforced using polyfoam base layers. Helix Bed Sheets Review
Helix Sleep offers full mattress customization. Buyers are asked to fill out a survey that discusses their weight, height, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other options. Based on these answers, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following 6 mattress models; each individual variant gives a unique combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep mattresses with targeted cushioning conform closely, making them perfect for side sleepers. While those with moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are ideal for all sleep positions. Lighter people may feel most comfortable on models with balanced support, while people that weigh 130 lbs or more often favor the variants with extra support.
Helix Sleep also offers two mattresses with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and additional support). Both of these variants have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, which makes them great for couples with differing tastes. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for larger, heavier individuals. This variant has an additional layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable aspect accommodates sleepers with a large assortment of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate movement well, and create less noise than the average hybrid. Helix Bed Sheets Review

Construction Helix Bed Sheets Review
All 9 of the different iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction should be fairly similar. The 6 core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in firmness and density depending on the foams utilized in order to get more/less support and more/less firmness. The 4 unique foams utilized within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the variants have all of the foams – some just have three of the four – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the purchaser. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull to be able to offer 9 different mattresses (and hopefully have a mattress for everyone). Helix Bed Sheets Review
Below, I briefly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of your average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses come with the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I found it to be thin and pliable, allowing for some great breathability. However, if you would like something more amped up, you can opt to swap out the normal cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase-change material to regulate heat.
Comfort Layer – On top, you’ll discover a heavy layer of memory foam. This material has a slow reaction to pressure, which means you’re likely to experience some gratifying body contouring. Even though it may seem strange for a supposedly medium firmness bed to incorporate a memory foam layer, it is crucial to remember that the feeling of deep sinkage doesn’t always translate to softness; in actuality, most of the time it generates quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the comfort layer, you’ll uncover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to curb the sinkage of the memory foam and create a supportive, medium firm feel as you hit the pocketed coils underneath.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress consists of this section of pocketed coils. This system gives a supportive lift into the structure, working to position the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, instead of “in it”. Since the coils are wrapped individually, they’re also going to allow extra breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last but not least, you will find a thin section of high-density poly foam. This layer doesn’t really affect the feel of the mattress too much, working mostly to give the individually wrapped coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After taking a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s talk about their different feels and firmness levels.
The firmness level of the Helix is going to differ widely depending on which variant you choose. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which tends to be very versatile and therefore very popular. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep would be happy to provide you with more options.
Laying down on the Midnight, the uppermost foam layer is soft and produces some quality body contouring, while the rest of the materials in the Midnight work to control this and make an overall firmer structure. The firmer support foams and individually-wrapped coils also help with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there is just enough good comfort material in the mattress to conform to your lower spine while supporting your whole upper spine in a neutral position. For larger sleepers or those who prefer a firmer mattress, there are two more options for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight models.
Majority of side sleepers will feel perfectly comfortable on the Midnight, however, if you’re needing less pressure while still sticking with a flexible medium firmness, you may decide to check out the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and provides the surface a little bit of bounce.
Side sleepers typically have to be mindful of pressure since they sleep with all of their weight on a tinier region. People who are lighter than average or people looking for plenty of pressure relief may want to stay with the plusher variants.
Stomach sleepers will feel supported in the Midnight, particularly if this isn’t their primary position or they have a tendency to change things up a lot. Firmer choices might be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so they can make sure their hips do not dip and over-arch their spine.
Lastly, Helix Sleep suggests Helix mattresses for sleepers around 350 pounds or partners that weigh up to 250 lbs each. In the event you or your partner are significantly larger than average, the company has also produced a bed called the Nightfall that is created to accommodate a total weight of 1000 pounds.
Couples with different types of bodies or preferences may also select a dual comfort option that combines Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if none of these models feel right, you could always have a look at the four other mattresses in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, slightly firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest option in the line).
Next up, let’s chat about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that is noticeable from 1 side of the bed to the other. While this is going to be significant for many people, those who doze with a partner may find it particularly intriguing as it’ll illuminate just how bothered you will be by your partner’s nighttime movements. Helix Bed Sheets Review
Based on my observation, Helix surpasses expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space because of the quantity and quality of foam it incorporates, as well as the pocketed coils which help keep motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper afraid that movement from the other side of the bed will wake you, you shouldn’t have a lot of concern with this mattress. I would say that all of the Helix mattresses are a good option for couples.
When purchasing a new mattress, the majority of men and women want to know whether they will feel like they’re sinking “into” the mattress or lying “on top” of it.
Even though you may experience some immediate sinkage from the uppermost foam layers, when you sink through those layers, you’ll find the individually-wrapped coils and experience great support. This combination will appeal to a vast range of individuals, but will satisfy stomach and back sleepers the most.
While I do feel the memory foam collapse as I sit close to the edge of the Helix Midnight, the pocketed coils prevent the mattress from collapsing a lot . I feel very secured sitting on the mattress.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is because of their freshly updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil system. There can be some compression in the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but laying on the side will feel comfy and secure. Partners who want more space to stretch out normally love stronger edges.
Lying down, I also feel like I can get near the edge of the mattress without feeling like I will roll off or be ejected from the bed. Overall, I believe the Helix mattress has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of purchasing a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they usually include. Helix is no different. You create the mattress that’s meant for you, place your order, and within two weeks, it’s sent to your home. From the minute you click to purchase the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to try it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it is not perfect, you can return it free of charge, and get a full refund.
If you do return the mattress, it isn’t resold or restocked. In fact, Helix Sleep locates a local place to donate it. When there’s no way Helix can find a way to donate your returned mattress, it’s recycled instead. Helix Bed Sheets Review
Helix offers an awesome 10-year warranty that covers flaws, but it comes with some limitations, exceptions, and the burden of proof is on the consumer (like most guarantees ). Needless to say, you must be the first owner of the Helix to use the guarantee, and you will need to be sure you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty should be valid. That means you will need to have a suitable base (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4” apart) and that you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on it!
If your Helix starts to have an indentation of 1 inch or longer, something that usually happens when low-density foams break down, then you could qualify for a replacement or repair of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no flipping, but it’s recommended that you rotate the mattress perhaps a couple of times a year to keep it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For routine cleanup, it’s advised to use cold water with gentle dish detergent to clean any dirt or stains. Make sure to clean using soft circular motions, rather than rubbing.
Final Thoughts Helix Bed Sheets Review
If you’re searching for a mattress and aren’t quite sure what feel that you require, Helix’s quiz and Color Match system might be the key to unlocking your very best sleep with little hassle. Their awesome system, which is based on expert opinions and artificial intelligence, was designed to better their client’s sleep by offering a better match. Helix Bed Sheets Review
The attributes of the Helix were thoughtfully constructed to provide choices whether you were searching for a mattress that keeps cool all night, if you needed one to cradle your shape with a thick comfort system, or both! The coil unit should offer amazing edge support and movement transfer is minimal with their individually-wrapped construction.
Hopefully, I have given you some idea of what the average sleeper can expect from the Helix, but it truly does provide an impressive range of customization with an option for literally every particular desire or need. Your next best sleep might just be a short online quiz away.
