Helix Sleep sells hybrid mattresses manufactured using polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores fortified with polyfoam base layers. Helix Bbb
Helix Sleep allows full mattress customization. Buyers are urged to complete a survey that discusses their weight, height, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other factors. Based on these results, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following 6 mattress models; each individual option gives a unique combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep mattresses that have targeted cushioning conform closely, making them optimal for side sleepers. While hybrids that have moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are great for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter individuals may feel most comfy on models with balanced support, while those that weigh 130 pounds or more tend to favor the models with additional support.
Helix Sleep also offers 2 variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and extra support). Both of these models have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, which makes them suitable for couples with differing preferences. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for larger, heavier individuals. This variant has an additional layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable aspect conforms to sleepers with a large assortment of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also offer strong edge support, isolate motion transfer well, and create less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Bbb

Construction Helix Bbb
All nine of the various iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction will be rather similar. The 6 core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in density and firmness based on the foams used in order to achieve more/less firmness and more/less support. The 4 different foams utilized within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the variants have all the foams – some just have 3 of the 4 – but it really won’t matter much for the purchaser. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer nine unique versions (and supposedly have a model for everyone). Helix Bbb
Underneath, I concisely talk about the construction (materials and quality) of your average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses come with exactly the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I thought it to be thin and stretchy, allowing for some wonderful breathability. But, if you would like something more luxurious, you can opt to swap out the normal cover for the UltraCool one, which is made up of a phase-change fabric for heat regulation.
Comfort Layer – On top, you will discover a heavy layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow reaction to pressure, which means you’re probably going to experience some great body shaping. While it might seem odd for a purportedly medium firmness mattress to feature a memory foam layer, it is important to remember that the presence of deep sinkage does not always translate to softness; in actuality, most of the time it produces quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After getting past the memory foam comfort layer, you will find a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to curb the sinkage of the comfort layer and create a supportive, medium firm feel as you hit the pocketed coils underneath.
Support Layer – The majority of the mattress consists of this segment of individually wrapped coils. This system brings a supportive lift into the structure, working to place the sleeper “on top” of the bed, as opposed to “in it”. Because the coils are wrapped individually, they are also going to allow additional breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Lastly, you’ll discover a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This section does not really affect the feel of the bed too much, working mostly to give the individually wrapped coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After having a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us discuss their different feels and firmness levels.
The firmness of the Helix is going to differ widely depending on the model you pick out. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have medium firmness levels, which tends to be quite versatile and therefore best-selling. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep is happy to oblige you with additional choices.
Laying down on the Helix Midnight, the uppermost foam layer is soft and generates some quality body contouring, while the rest of the materials within the Midnight work to control this and make an overall firmer structure. The firmer support foams and pocketed coils also assist with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there’s enough good comfort material here to conform to your lumbar while supporting your back in a neutral position. For larger sleepers or people who prefer a firmer mattress, there are two more choices for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight variants.
Most side sleepers will feel perfectly comfortable on the Midnight, but, if you are needing less pressure while still sticking with a versatile medium firmness, you might decide to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and provides the surface a little bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically need to be more mindful of pressure because they sleep with most of their weight on a smaller region. People who are lighter than average or people looking for plenty of pressure relief might want to stick to the plusher models.
Stomach sleepers will feel comfortable in the Midnight, especially if this is not their primary position or they tend to switch things up a lot. Firmer choices may be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so that they can make sure their hips do not dip and over-arch their backbone.
Lastly, the manufacturer suggests Helix mattresses for sleepers up to 350 lbs or partners that weigh a maximum of 250 lbs each. If you or your spouse are significantly bigger than average, Helix has also produced a bed called the Nightfall that’s constructed to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 pounds.
Partners with differing types of bodies or tastes may also pick a dual comfort model that combines Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if neither of those models seem quite right, you may always have a look at the 4 other mattresses in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, slightly firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest option of the bunch).
Now, let’s talk about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that is noticeable from 1 side of the mattress to the other. While this will be important for all people, those who doze with a spouse may find it particularly interesting as it’ll show just how bothered you will be by your partner’s nighttime movements. Helix Bbb
Based on my observation, Helix surpasses expectations for hybrids in this space due to the quantity and quality of foam it contains, in addition to the pocketed coils which help keep motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper worried that motion from the opposite side of the mattress will wake you, you should not have much concern with this mattress. I’d say that any of the Helix mattresses would be a good option for couples.
While purchasing a new mattress, most men and women wish to know whether they’ll feel as though they’re sinking “into” the mattress or lying “on top” of it.
Even though you’re likely to encounter some immediate sinkage from the soft foam on top, when you sink through those layers, you will hit the individually-wrapped coils and find amazing support. This combination will appeal to a vast assortment of sleepers, but will satisfy stomach and back sleepers the most.
Though I do feel the foam collapse as I sit close to the edge of the Helix Midnight, the coils stop the mattress from collapsing too much beyond that. I feel very secure seated on the bed.
In my view, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is due to their recently updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil unit. There can be some compression at the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but laying on the side should feel comfy and safe. Couples who want more space to stretch out normally love stronger edges.
Lying down, I also feel like I could get close to the edge of the mattress without feeling like I will fall over or be pushed off the mattress. Overall, I think that the Helix has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of buying a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they usually include. Helix Mattress is no different. You customize the mattress that’s made for you, place your order, and in 2 weeks, it’s sent to your home. From the moment you click to order the mattress, you have 100 nights to check it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it is not ideal, you can return it for free of charge, and receive a full refund.
Should you return the mattress, it is not restocked or resold. In fact, Helix Sleep does its best to locate a local place to donate it. When there is no way the company can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, it is recycled instead. Helix Bbb
Helix offers a generous 10-year warranty that covers defects, but it has limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the customer (like most guarantees ). Needless to say, you should be the original owner of the mattress to make use of the guarantee, and you need to be sure that you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty will be valid. That means you need to use a proper base (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4” apart) and that you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your Helix begins to show an indentation of 1 inch or more, something that generally happens when low-density foams break down, you could be eligible for a replacement or repair of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no turning, but it’s recommended that you rotate the mattress possibly once or twice a year to keep it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For routine cleaning, it’s suggested to use cold water along gentle dish soap to clean any stains or dirt. Be sure to wash using gentle circular movements, rather than rubbing.

The features of the Helix were thoughtfully manufactured to provide choices whether you were looking for a mattress that keeps cool all night, if you wanted one to cradle your shape with a thick comfort system, or both!
