Helix Sleep sells hybrid mattresses made with dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores fortified using polyfoam base layers. Helix Adjustable Frame Reviews
Helix Sleep offers full mattress customization. Purchasers are urged to fill out a survey that discusses their weight, height, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other elements. Then based on these answers, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following six mattress options; each individual option provides a one-of-a-kind combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep mattresses that have targeted cushioning conform closely, making them perfect for side sleepers. While hybrids with moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are suitable for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter people may feel most comfortable on variants with balanced support, while individuals who weigh 130 pounds or more tend to prefer the models with additional support.
Helix Sleep also offers 2 variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and extra support). Both of these models have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, which makes them great for couples with differing tastes. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for larger, heavier people. This model has an additional layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable aspect conforms to sleepers with a large range of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also provide strong edge support, isolate motion transfer well, and produce less noise than the average hybrid. Helix Adjustable Frame Reviews

Construction Helix Adjustable Frame Reviews
All nine of the various iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction will be fairly similar. The 6 core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in density and firmness depending on the foams used in order to get more/less firmness and more/less support. The 4 unique foams utilized within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the mattresses have all the foams – some only have 3 of the 4 – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the purchaser. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer nine different mattresses (and supposedly have a mattress for everyone). Helix Adjustable Frame Reviews
Underneath, I concisely discuss the construction (materials and quality) of your typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses come with the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I thought it to be thin and pliable, allowing for some wonderful breathability. However, if you prefer something more amped up, you can elect to swap out the normal cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase change material to regulate temperature.
Comfort Layer – On top, you’ll find a heavy layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow response to pressure, meaning you’re likely to experience some gratifying body contouring. Even though it may seem odd for a purportedly medium firm mattress to feature a memory foam layer, it’s crucial to remember that the existence of deep sinkage doesn’t always translate to softness; in actuality, oftentimes it generates quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After getting past the memory foam comfort layer, you will discover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to suppress the sinkage of the memory foam and set a supportive, medium firm feeling as you reach the pocketed coils underneath.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress is made up of this segment of pocketed coils. This system gives a supportive lift into the structure, working to position the sleeper “on top” of the bed, as opposed to “in it”. Because the coils are wrapped individually, they are also going to allow additional breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Lastly, you will find a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This section doesn’t affect the feel of the mattress too much, functioning mostly to give the pocketed coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After having a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s chat about their different feels and firmness levels.
The firmness of the Helix is going to differ widely depending on which model you select. The Helix Dusk and Midnight, have medium firmness levels, which will be very versatile and therefore exceptionally popular. If you have more specific needs, however, Helix Sleep will be happy to oblige you with more options.
Lying down on the Midnight, the uppermost foam layer feels soft and produces some quality body contouring, while the rest of the materials within the Midnight work to control this and create an overall firmer structure. The firmer support foams and individually-wrapped coils also help with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there is just enough good comfort material in the mattress to conform to your lower spine while supporting your back in a neutral position. For larger buyers or those who want a firmer bed, there are two more choices for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight variants.
Majority of side sleepers will feel perfectly comfortable on the Midnight, but, if you’re wanting less pressure while still sticking with a flexible medium firmness, you may decide to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and provides the surface a little bit of bounce.
Side sleepers typically have to be mindful of pressure since they sleep with all of their weight on a tinier area. People who are lighter than average or people in the market for lots of pressure relief might want to stay with the plusher variants.
Those who sleep on their stomach will feel comfortable in the Midnight, particularly if this is not their primary position or they tend to switch things up a lot. Firmer mattresses may be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so they can ensure their hips do not dip and over-arch their spine.
Last, Helix Sleep recommends Helix mattresses for sleepers up to 350 pounds or couples that weigh up to 250 lbs each. If you or your partner are substantially bigger than average, Helix has also created a bed called the Nightfall that’s created to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 pounds.
Couples with differing types of bodies or preferences can also pick a dual comfort variant that combines Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if none of these options seem right, you could always have a look at the four other mattresses in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, a little firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest variant in the line).
Now, let us chat about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that’s noticeable from 1 side of the bed to the other. While this will be significant for many buyers, those who doze with a spouse may find it especially intriguing as it’ll show just how bothered you may be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Helix Adjustable Frame Reviews
According to my research, Helix surpasses expectations for hybrids in this space due to the amount and quality of foam it incorporates, as well as the individually wrapped coils which help keep motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper afraid that movement from the other side of the bed will bother you, you shouldn’t have much concern with this hybrid. I would say that all of the Helix mattresses are a good option for couples.
When getting a new mattress, most people wish to know whether they will feel like they are sinking “into” the mattress or lying “on top” of it.
While you are going to experience a little immediate sinkage from the uppermost foam layers, when you sink through those layers, you’ll reach the pocketed coils and experience fantastic support. This combination will appeal to a wide range of sleepers, but will suit stomach and back sleepers the most.
Though I do feel the memory foam collapse as I sit near the edge of the bed, the pocketed coils prevent the mattress from compressing a lot beyond that. I feel quite secure sitting on the mattress.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is because of their recently updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil unit. There may be a little compression at the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but laying on the side will feel comfortable and safe. Couples who need more space to stretch out typically appreciate strong edges.
Laying down, I feel like I could get close to the edge of the bed without feeling like I will fall off or be ejected from the bed. Overall, I believe the Helix has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of purchasing a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they typically include. Helix Mattress is not any different. You create the mattress that’s intended for you, place your order, and within a couple of weeks, it is sent to your home. From the minute you click to purchase the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to try it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it is not perfect, you can return it for free of charge, and receive a full refund.
If you do return the mattress, it isn’t restocked or resold. In fact, the company locates a local place to donate it. When there’s no way Helix Sleep can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, it’s recycled instead. Helix Adjustable Frame Reviews
Helix offers an amazing 10-year warranty that covers flaws, but it has a few limitations, exceptions, plus the burden of proof is on the purchaser (like most guarantees ). Needless to say, you should be the original owner of the Helix to make use of the warranty, and you will need to be sure you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all of Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty will be valid. That means you will need to use a suitable foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4” apart) and that you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your Helix begins to have an indentation of 1 inch or more, which is what typically happens when low-density foams break down, you could be eligible for a repair or replacement of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no flipping, but it is recommended that you rotate the mattress possibly a couple of times a year to prevent it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For regular cleanup, it’s advised to use cold water along gentle dish soap to clean any stains or dirt. Make certain that you clean using soft circular movements, rather than rubbing.
