Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses made with polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores reinforced with polyfoam base layers. Fun Helix
Helix Sleep offers complete mattress customization. Buyers are urged to complete a survey that discusses their weight, height, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other options. Then based on these results, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following six mattress options; each respective model offers a one-of-a-kind combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep hybrids that have targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them optimal for those who sleep on their side. While hybrids that have moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are ideal for all sleep positions. Lighter people may feel most comfortable on variants with balanced support, while people who weigh 130 lbs or more tend to favor the models with extra support.
Helix Sleep also markets 2 models with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with extra support and moderate cushioning). Both these variants have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, making them suitable for couples with differing tastes. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for bigger, heavier people. This variant has an extra layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses found that the customizable aspect accommodates sleepers with a large variety of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also provide strong edge support, isolate movement well, and produce less noise than the normal hybrid. Fun Helix

Construction Fun Helix
All 9 of the different iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction should be quite similar. The six core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in density and firmness based on the foams utilized in order to achieve more/less firmness and more/less support. The 4 different foams utilized within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the variants have all the foams – some only have three of the four – but it really won’t matter much for the consumer. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer nine different versions (and supposedly have a mattress for everybody). Fun Helix
Underneath, I concisely talk about the construction (materials and quality) of your average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses come with exactly the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I found it to be stretchy and thin, allowing for some nice breathability. But, if you would like something more amped up, you can choose to swap out the regular cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase change fabric for temperature regulation.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you will find a thick layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow response to pressure, which means you are likely to experience some satisfying body shaping. Even though it may seem odd for a supposedly medium firm bed to incorporate a memory foam layer, it’s important to remember that the existence of deep sinkage does not necessarily translate to softness; in actuality, oftentimes it generates quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After getting past the comfort layer, you’ll discover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to suppress the sinkage of the memory foam and set a supportive, medium firm feel as you reach the individually wrapped coils underneath.
Support Layer – The bulk of the mattress is made up of this section of pocketed coils. This system gives a supportive lift into the structure, working to place the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, instead of “in it”. Because the coils are individually wrapped, they are also likely to allow additional breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last but not least, you’ll uncover a thin section of high-density poly foam. This layer doesn’t really affect the feel of the mattress too much, working mostly to provide the pocketed coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After taking a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us talk about their different firmness levels and feels.
The firmness of the Helix will differ widely depending on the model you choose. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which is going to be quite versatile and thus very popular. If you have more specific requirements, however, Helix Sleep is happy to provide you with additional options.
Laying down on the Helix Midnight, the memory foam layer is soft and generates some high quality body shaping, while the other materials within the mattress work to counteract this and make an overall firmer structure. The firmer support foams and pocketed coils also assist with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there is enough good comfort material in the mattress to conform to your lumbar while supporting your back in a neutral position. For larger buyers or people who prefer a firmer bed, there are 2 more models for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight models.
Majority of side sleepers should feel perfectly comfortable on the Midnight, but, if you are needing less pressure while still going with a flexible medium firmness, you may decide to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and provides the surface a small bit of bounce.
Side sleepers typically need to be more mindful of pressure since they sleep with all of their weight on a smaller area. People who are smaller than average or those in the market for a lot of pressure relief may want to stick to the plusher models.
Those who sleep on their stomach will feel comfortable in the Midnight, particularly if this isn’t their main position or they tend to change things up a lot. Firmer mattresses may be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so that they can ensure their hips do not dip and over-arch their spine.
Lastly, the manufacturer suggests Helix mattresses for sleepers around 350 pounds or partners who weigh up to 250 lbs each. If you or your partner are significantly larger than average, Helix has also created a bed called the Nightfall that’s constructed to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 pounds.
Couples with different types of bodies or preferences can also select a dual comfort model that pairs Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if none of those options seem quite right, you could always check out the 4 other variants in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, a little firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest option in the line).
Now, let us talk about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that is detectable from one side of the mattress to the other. While this is going to be crucial for all sleepers, those who sleep with a spouse may find it especially interesting as it will show just how bothered you will be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Fun Helix
According to my research, Helix exceeds expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space due to the quantity and quality of foam it contains, in addition to the pocketed coils which help trap motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper worried that motion from the other side of the mattress will bother you, then you shouldn’t have much concern with this hybrid. I would say that any of the Helix mattresses are a good option for couples.
When buying a brand-new mattress, the majority of individuals would like to know whether they will feel as though they are sinking “into” the mattress or laying “on top” of it.
Even though you may experience some immediate sinkage from the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through these layers, you’ll reach the pocketed coils and experience great support. This combination will appeal to a vast range of individuals, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers the most.
Though I do feel the memory foam collapse as I sit near the edge of the Helix Midnight, the pocketed coils stop the mattress from collapsing a lot beyond that. I feel very secure seated on the bed.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses are well above average for edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is because of their newly updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil unit. There can be a little compression at the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but lying on the side should feel comfy and secure. Couples who want more space to stretch out normally love stronger edges.
Lying down, I feel like I can get close to the edge of the mattress without feeling like I will roll over or be ejected from the bed. Overall, I think the Helix mattress has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of buying a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they typically come with. Helix Mattress is no different. You create the mattress that is made for you, place your order, and in a couple of weeks, it’s delivered to your home. From the minute you click to buy the mattress, you have 100 nights to try it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it is not perfect, you can return it free of charge, and receive a complete refund.
If you do return the mattress, it is not resold or restocked. In fact, Helix Sleep locates a local place to donate it. When there is no way the company can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, it’s recycled instead. Fun Helix
The Helix Mattress includes a generous 10-year warranty that covers flaws, but it has a few limitations, exceptions, and the burden of proof is on the customer (like most warranties). Needless to say, you should be the first owner of the mattress to use the guarantee, and you will need to be sure you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty should be valid. That means you will need to use a suitable foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4 inches apart) and you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on it!
If your Helix begins to show an indentation of 1” or longer, something that usually happens when low-density foams break down, you could be eligible for a repair or replacement of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no flipping, but it’s suggested that you rotate the mattress possibly once or twice a year to prevent it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For regular cleaning, it’s advised to use cold water with gentle dish soap to clean any stains or dirt. Be sure that you wash using gentle circular movements, instead of rubbing.
Final Thoughts Fun Helix
If you are shopping for a mattress and aren’t quite certain what feel that you require, Helix’s Color Match system and quiz might be the secret to unlocking your best sleep with minimal hassle. Their state-of-the-art system, which is based on expert sentiment and artificial intelligence, was designed to better their client’s sleep by giving a better match. Fun Helix
The features of the Helix were thoughtfully constructed to deliver choices whether you were searching for a mattress that stays cool all night, in the event that you wanted one to cradle your shape with a thick comfort system, or both! The coil unit should offer amazing edge support and movement transfer is minimal with their individually-wrapped build.
