Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses made with polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores fortified using polyfoam base layers. Epilog Helix Bed Size
Helix Sleep gives you complete mattress customization. Purchasers are urged to complete a survey that asks for their weight, height, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other elements. Based on these answers, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following six mattress variants; each respective model offers a unique combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep hybrids that have targeted cushioning conform closely, making them perfect for side sleepers. While mattresses that have moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are great for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter men and women may feel more comfy on variants with balanced support, while individuals that weigh 130 pounds or more tend to favor the models with extra support.
Helix Sleep also markets two mattresses with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with extra support and moderate cushioning). Both these models have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, which makes them ideal for couples with different preferences. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for larger, heavier individuals. This mattress has an extra layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable aspect accommodates sleepers with a large assortment of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also provide strong edge support, isolate movement well, and produce less noise than the average hybrid. Epilog Helix Bed Size

Construction Epilog Helix Bed Size
All nine of the various iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction will be quite similar. The six core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in firmness and density depending upon the foams utilized in order to achieve more/less support and more/less firmness. The four unique foams utilized within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the variants have all of the foams – some only have 3 of the 4 – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the purchaser. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer 9 unique models (and supposedly have a mattress for everyone). Epilog Helix Bed Size
Below, I concisely discuss the construction (materials and quality) of your average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses come with the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I found it to be pliable and thin, allowing for some great breathability. But, if you would like something more luxurious, you can opt to swap out the regular cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase-change material to regulate temperature.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you will find a heavy layer of memory foam. This material has a slow response to pressure, meaning you are likely to encounter some great body shaping. While it might seem odd for a purportedly medium firmness mattress to make use of a memory foam layer, it is important to remember that the existence of deep sinkage doesn’t necessarily translate to softness; in actuality, most of the time it produces quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After getting past the memory foam comfort layer, you’ll discover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to suppress the sinkage of the comfort layer and create a supportive, medium firm feeling as you reach the individually wrapped coils below.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress consists of this section of individually wrapped coils. This system brings a supportive lift to the construction, working to place the sleeper “on top” of the bed, as opposed to “in it”. Since these coils are individually wrapped, they are also going to encourage extra breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Lastly, you will uncover a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This layer does not really affect the feel of the mattress too much, functioning mostly to give the individually wrapped coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After taking a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s chat about their varying feels and firmness levels.
The firmness level of the Helix will differ widely depending on the version you choose. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which will be very versatile and therefore very popular. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep will be happy to provide you with more choices.
Lying down on the Midnight, the memory foam layer is soft and generates some quality body shaping, while the other materials in the mattress work to control this and make an overall firmer composition. The firmer support foams and individually-wrapped coils also help with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there’s just enough good comfort material in the Helix Midnight to conform to your lumbar while supporting your back in a neutral position. For heavier buyers or people who want a firmer mattress, there are 2 more options for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn models.
Majority of side sleepers will feel totally comfy on the Midnight, however, if you are needing a bit less pressure while still going with a flexible medium firmness, you may decide to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and provides the surface a small bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically have to be more mindful of pressure since they sleep with most of their weight on a tinier region. Those who are smaller than average or people looking for a lot of pressure relief might want to stay with the plusher models.
Stomach sleepers will feel comfortable in the Midnight, especially if this is not their main position or they tend to change things up a lot. Firmer mattresses may be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so they can make sure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their backbone.
Lastly, Helix Sleep suggests Helix for sleepers up to 350 pounds or couples who weigh up to 250 pounds each. If you or your partner are substantially larger than average, Helix has also created a bed called the Nightfall that’s built to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 lbs.
Couples with different body types or tastes may also select a dual comfort model that combines Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if none of these options sound right, you could always have a look at the four other variants in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, slightly firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest mattress of the bunch).
Next up, let’s talk about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that’s detectable from 1 side of the bed to the other. While this is going to be important for all buyers, those who sleep with a partner may find it particularly interesting as it’ll illuminate just how bothered you’ll be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Epilog Helix Bed Size
According to my research, Helix exceeds expectations for hybrids in this space due to the amount and quality of foam it incorporates, as well as the individually wrapped coils which help keep motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper afraid that movement from the opposite side of the mattress will wake you, you should not have a lot of concern with this mattress. I’d say that any of the Helix mattresses are a good option for couples.
While getting a new mattress, most people wish to know whether they’ll feel like they are sinking “into” the mattress or laying “on top” of it.
While you may encounter a little immediate sinkage in the soft foam at the top, when you sink through these layers, you will reach the individually-wrapped coils and feel great support. This combination will appeal to a wide range of individuals, but will suit back and stomach sleepers in particular.
While I do feel the memory foam compress as I sit close to the edge of the bed, the coils prevent the mattress from collapsing a lot . I feel very secured sitting on the mattress.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is because of their freshly updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil unit. There can be a little compression in the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but lying on the side will feel comfy and secure. Partners who want more space to stretch out typically appreciate stronger edges.
Laying down, I also feel like I can get close to the edge of the mattress without feeling like I will roll over or be ejected from the bed. Overall, I think the Helix has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of purchasing a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they usually include. Helix Sleep is not any different. You customize the mattress that’s meant for you, place your order, and in two weeks, it’s delivered to your door. From the minute you click to purchase the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to check it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it isn’t ideal, you can return it for free, and get a complete refund.
Should you return the mattress, it is not restocked or resold. In fact, the company finds a local place to donate it. When there is no way the company can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, it is recycled instead. Epilog Helix Bed Size
Helix Sleep offers an awesome 10-year guarantee that covers flaws, but it has limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the customer (like most warranties). Of course, you must be the original owner of the Helix to make use of the warranty, and you need to be sure that you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you need to use a suitable base (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4 inches apart) and you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on it!
If your Helix starts to show an indentation of 1” or longer, something that usually happens when low-density foams break down, then you could qualify for a replacement or repair of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no turning, but it is recommended that you rotate the mattress possibly once or twice a year to keep it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For routine cleaning, it is suggested to use cool water with gentle dish detergent to clean any dirt or stains. Make certain to wash using soft circular motions, instead of rubbing.
