Helix Sleep markets hybrid mattresses made using dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores reinforced using polyfoam base layers. Does Nectar Make Helix
Helix Sleep gives you complete mattress customization. Customers are urged to fill out a survey that asks for their weight, height, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other options. Then based on these answers, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following 6 mattress models; each respective model provides a one-of-a-kind combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep hybrids that have targeted cushioning conform closely, making them perfect for those who sleep on their side. While those with moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are great for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter people may feel most comfy on models with balanced support, while individuals that weigh 130 pounds or more often prefer the variants with extra support.
Helix Sleep also markets 2 variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with additional support and moderate cushioning). Both of these models have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, making them suitable for couples with different tastes. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for bigger, heavier individuals. This model has an extra layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses found that the customizable selection accommodates sleepers with a large range of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also offer strong edge support, isolate motion transfer well, and produce less noise than the normal hybrid. Does Nectar Make Helix

Construction Does Nectar Make Helix
All 9 of the different iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction will be quite similar. The six core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in density and firmness depending on the foams utilized in order to attain more/less support and more/less firmness. The four different foams utilized within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the models have all of the foams – some just have three of the four – but it really won’t matter much for the buyer. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer 9 distinct variants (and hopefully have a mattress for everybody). Does Nectar Make Helix
Below, I quickly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of the average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses have the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I thought it to be thin and pliable, allowing for some nice breathability. However, if you prefer something more luxurious, you can elect to swap out the regular cover for the UltraCool one, which is made up of a phase change material to regulate heat.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you will encounter a heavy layer of memory foam. This material has a slow response to pressure, meaning you’re probably going to encounter some satisfying body shaping. Even though it may seem strange for a supposedly medium firm mattress to feature a memory foam comfort layer, it’s important to remember that the presence of deep sinkage does not always translate to softness; in actuality, oftentimes it gives quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the memory foam comfort layer, you’ll find a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to curb the sinkage of the memory foam and set a supportive, medium firm feeling as you reach the pocketed coils below.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress is made up of this section of individually wrapped coils. This system gives a supportive lift into the construction, working to position the sleeper “on top” of the bed, as opposed to “in it”. Since these coils are individually wrapped, they are also likely to give extra breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Lastly, you will uncover a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This segment doesn’t really affect the feel of the mattress too much, working mostly to provide the individually wrapped coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After having a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us chat about their varying firmness levels and feels.
The firmness of the Helix will vary widely depending on which version you choose. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which is going to be very versatile and thus very popular. If you have more specific requirements, however, Helix Sleep is happy to provide you with more options.
Lying down on the Midnight, the uppermost foam layer is soft and generates some quality body contouring, while the other materials in the Midnight work to counteract this and make an overall firmer composition. The individually-wrapped coils and the firmer support foams also help with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there’s enough good comfort material here to conform to your lumbar while supporting your whole back in a neutral position. For larger sleepers or people who prefer a firmer bed, there are two more choices for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight variants.
Many side sleepers should feel totally comfortable on the Midnight, but, if you are needing a bit less pressure while still going with a versatile medium firmness, you might decide to check out the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and gives the surface a little bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically have to be mindful of pressure because they sleep with all their weight on a smaller area. People who are lighter than average or those in the market for lots of pressure relief might want to stay with the plusher variants.
Stomach sleepers will feel supported in the Midnight, especially if this is not their main position or they have a tendency to switch things up a lot. Firmer mattresses may be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so they can make sure their hips do not dip and over-arch their back.
Last, the manufacturer suggests Helix for sleepers up to 350 lbs or partners who weigh a maximum of 250 lbs each. If you or your spouse are significantly bigger than average, the company has also produced a mattress called the Nightfall that’s built to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 pounds.
Partners with differing body types or tastes can also select a dual comfort model that combines Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if none of these options feel quite right, you may always have a look at the 4 other beds in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, a little firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest mattress of the bunch).
Now, let’s talk about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that’s detectable from one side of the bed to the other. While this is going to be important for all people, those who doze with a partner may find it particularly intriguing as it’ll illuminate just how bothered you’ll be by your partner’s nighttime movements. Based on my observation, Helix surpasses expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space because of the amount and quality of foam it incorporates, as well as the individually wrapped coils which help keep motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper concerned that motion from the opposite side of the bed will wake you, then you should not have a lot of concern with this mattress. I’d say that any of the Helix mattresses are a good option for couples.
While getting a brand-new mattress, most individuals would like to know whether they’ll feel as though they’re sinking “into” the mattress or lying “on top” of it.
While you may experience some immediate sinkage from the uppermost foam layers, when you sink through those layers, you’ll hit the pocketed coils and experience fantastic support. This combo will interest a vast assortment of sleepers, but will satisfy stomach and back sleepers the most.
While I do feel the foam collapse as I sit near the edge of the mattress, the coils stop the mattress from compressing too much . I feel very secure sitting on the bed.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses are well above average for edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is due to their freshly updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil unit. There may be some compression at the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but lying on the side should feel comfy and secure. Partners who want more space to stretch out typically appreciate stronger edges.
Laying down, I feel like I can get close to the edge of the mattress without feeling like I’ll roll off or be pushed off the mattress. Overall, I believe that the Helix mattress has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of purchasing a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they usually include. Helix is no different. You create the mattress that’s meant for you, place your order, and within two weeks, it’s sent to your door. From the moment you click to buy the mattress, you have 100 nights to try it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it is not perfect, you can return it free, and get a full refund.
Should you return the mattress, it isn’t restocked or resold. Actually, Helix Sleep does its best to locate a local place to donate it. When there is no way the company can find a way to donate your returned mattress, it’s recycled instead. Does Nectar Make Helix
Helix offers an amazing 10-year guarantee that covers flaws, but it comes with a few limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the consumer (like most warranties). Of course, you should be the first owner of the Helix to make use of the warranty, and you need to be sure that you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you need to use a proper foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4 inches apart) and that you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on it!
If your Helix starts to have an indentation of 1 inch or longer, something that typically happens when low-density foams break down, then you could qualify for a replacement or repair of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no turning, but it’s recommended that you rotate the mattress possibly once or twice a year to prevent it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For regular cleanup, it is suggested to use cool water along gentle dish soap to clean any dirt or stains. Be sure that you clean using soft circular motions, rather than rubbing.
