Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses made with dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores fortified with polyfoam base layers. Can\’T Sleep On Helix Piercing

Helix Sleep offers full mattress customization. Buyers are urged to fill out a survey that asks for their height, weight, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other factors. Based on these answers, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following six mattress models; each individual option gives a one-of-a-kind combination of support and firmness:

  • Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
  • Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
  • Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
  • Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
  • Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
  • Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support

Helix Sleep mattresses that have targeted cushioning conform closely, making them perfect for those who sleep on their side. While hybrids that have moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are great for all sleep positions. Lighter men and women may feel most comfortable on models with balanced support, while people that weigh 130 pounds or more tend to favor the variants with additional support.

Helix Sleep also markets two variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with extra support and moderate cushioning). Both these models have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, which makes them great for couples with differing preferences. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for larger, heavier people. This variant has an additional layer of memory foam for maximum support.

My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable selection conforms to sleepers with a large assortment of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also offer strong edge support, isolate motion transfer well, and produce less noise than the average hybrid. Can\’T Sleep On Helix Piercing

Construction Can\’T Sleep On Helix Piercing

All 9 of the different iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction should be fairly similar. The six core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.

Helix mattresses differ in firmness and density based upon the foams utilized in order to attain more/less support and more/less firmness. The four unique foams utilized within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the models have all the foams – some just have 3 of the 4 – but it really won’t matter much for the buyer. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer 9 different versions (and hopefully have a model for everybody). Can\’T Sleep On Helix Piercing

Below, I briefly talk about the construction (materials and quality) of the typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.

Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses have exactly the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I thought it to be stretchy and thin, allowing for some nice breathability. However, if you want something more amped up, you can choose to swap out the regular cover for the UltraCool one, which is made up of a phase change fabric for temperature regulation.

Comfort Layer – Up top, you’ll encounter a thick layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow response to pressure, which means you are probably going to experience some great body contouring. Even though it may seem strange for a supposedly medium firm bed to make use of a memory foam layer, it is crucial to remember that the presence of deep sinkage does not always translate to softness; in fact, oftentimes it gives quite a firm feeling.

Transition Layer – After sinking through the comfort layer, you will discover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to curb the sinkage of the memory foam and establish a supportive, medium firm feeling as you hit the pocketed coils underneath.

Support Layer – Most of the mattress consists of this section of pocketed coils. This system brings a supportive lift into the structure, working to position the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, instead of “in it”. Since the coils are individually wrapped, they’re also going to allow additional breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.

Base Layer – Last, you’ll find a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This segment does not really affect the feel of the mattress too much, working mostly to give the pocketed coils something off of which to react.

Firmness and Support

After having a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s discuss their varying firmness levels and feels.

helix-mattress-firmness-and-support-scale

The firmness level of the Helix will differ widely depending on the model you select. The Helix Dusk and Midnight, have medium firmness levels, which will be very versatile and therefore best-selling. If you have more specific requirements, however, Helix Sleep would be happy to provide you with additional choices.

Laying down on the Helix Midnight, the memory foam layer is soft and generates some quality body contouring, while the other materials in the Midnight work to counteract this and create an overall firmer composition. The firmer support foams and individually-wrapped coils also help with re-positioning.

For back sleepers, there is enough good comfort material in the mattress to conform to your lumbar while supporting your whole upper spine in a neutral position. For larger buyers or those who prefer a firmer mattress, there are 2 more choices for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn variants.

Most side sleepers will feel totally comfy on the Midnight, but, if you’re wanting less pressure while still sticking with a flexible medium firmness, you may want to check out the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and provides the surface a little bit of bounce.

Side sleepers typically need to be more mindful of pressure since they sleep with all their weight on a tinier area. Those who are smaller than average or those looking for a lot of pressure relief may want to stick to the plusher variants.

Stomach sleepers should feel comfortable in the Midnight, especially if this isn’t their primary position or they tend to change things up a lot. Firmer mattresses might be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so that they can make sure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their back.

Last, Helix Sleep recommends Helix for sleepers up to 350 pounds or partners that weigh up to 250 lbs each. If you or your partner are substantially larger than average, Helix has also created a mattress called the Nightfall that is created to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 pounds.

Partners with different body types or preferences can also select a dual comfort variant that pairs Firm with Plush.

Keep in mind that if neither of these models seem right, you may always have a look at the four other variants in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, a little firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest variant in the line).

Motion Transfer

Next up, let’s talk about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that is detectable from one side of the mattress to the other. While this will be important for all buyers, those who doze with a spouse may find it especially interesting as it’ll show just how bothered you will be by your partner’s nighttime movements. Can\’T Sleep On Helix Piercing

Based on my observation, Helix surpasses expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space because of the amount and quality of foam it incorporates, in addition to the individually wrapped coils which help keep motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper concerned that movement from the other side of the bed will bother you, you should not have a lot of concern with this mattress. I would say that all of the Helix mattresses would be a good option for couples.

Sinkage

When purchasing a new mattress, most people want to know whether they’ll feel as though they are sinking “into” the mattress or lying “on top” of it.

Even though you are likely to experience a little immediate sinkage from the uppermost foam layers, when you sink through these layers, you are going to find the individually-wrapped coils and feel great support. This combination will appeal to a wide range of sleepers, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers in particular.

Edge Support

While I do feel the memory foam compress as I sit close to the edge of the bed, the individually-wrapped coils prevent the mattress from collapsing a lot beyond that. I feel very secured sitting on the mattress.

In my opinion, Helix mattresses are well above average when it comes to edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is because of their newly updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil system. There may be some compression at the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but lying on the side will feel comfy and safe. Couples who want more space to stretch out normally love stronger edges.

Lying down, I also feel like I could get near the edge of the bed without feeling like I’ll roll over or be pushed off the mattress. Overall, I think the Helix mattress has great edge support.

100 Night Sleep Trial

One of the best features of purchasing a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they usually include. Helix Sleep is no different. You customize the mattress that’s made for you, place your order, and in 2 weeks, it’s delivered to your door. From the moment you click to order the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to try it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it is not ideal, you can return it for free of charge, and get a complete refund.

Should you return the mattress, it is not resold or restocked. In fact, Helix finds a local place to donate it. When there’s no way Helix Sleep can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, they have it recycled instead. Can\’T Sleep On Helix Piercing

Helix Warranty

The Helix Mattress includes an awesome 10-year warranty that covers flaws, but it has limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the purchaser (like most warranties). Needless to say, you must be the original owner of the Helix to use the warranty, and you will need to be sure that you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.

As long as you follow all of the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you need to use a suitable foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4 inches apart) and you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on the bed!

If your mattress begins to have an indentation of 1” or more, something that typically happens when low-density foams break down, then you could qualify for a repair or replacement of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?

Helix mattresses need no turning, but it’s recommended that you rotate the mattress perhaps once or twice a year to keep it from wearing down from excess sagging.

For routine cleanup, it is suggested to use cool water with gentle dish detergent to clean any dirt or stains. Be certain that you clean using soft circular movements, rather than rubbing.

Final Thoughts Can\’T Sleep On Helix Piercing

If you’re searching for a mattress and aren’t quite certain what feel that you need, Helix’s Color Match system and quiz might be the key to finding your best sleep with little hassle. Their awesome system, which relies on expert opinions and artificial intelligence, was created to improve their client’s sleep by giving a better match. Can\’T Sleep On Helix Piercing

The attributes of the Helix were thoughtfully constructed to deliver choices whether you were looking for a mattress that keeps cool all night, if you needed one to support your shape with a thick comfort system, or both! The coil unit should offer good edge support and movement transfer is minimal with their individually-wrapped build.

Hopefully, I have provided you some idea of what the typical consumer can expect from this mattress, but it truly does offer an impressive assortment of customization with a choice for literally every specific need or desire. Your next best sleep may just be a brief online quiz away.
